Did you simply update your paypal account to your email address or do you have to set up a complete new account?

If you had to make a new account, try to log into your old account, with your old email addy.

Otherwise I would email Paypal and explain the problem and see what advice/help they can offer.

Good Luck

I updated the PayPal account to reflect my new e-mail address. However, the listing on eBay says to send it to the old e-mail address and a couple of people have done that. When I talked to the guy at eBay, he said to send the people an e-mail to cancel the old payment and create a new one to the new e-mail address. Can this be done using that same listing?

I am pretty upset about this because my DH trusted me to take care of this and now there is this problem. I feel horribly about what happened....

Thank you

If you are going to be home within a day or so of auction end I wouldn't worry about it - I did take a book along with when we left unexpectedly - but were going to be gone 5 days!

I did ok on my TL books - I had calculated using the bathroom scale and charged $15 - ended up at about $11. I have a digital scale in the bathroom which works really well - I was right on with her at the PO today when she rang it through.

I would cancel those payments and include a memo (there should be a box to add comments) that the email address is no longer valid and you did not realize it was attached to your ebay/PayPal account as it was. Then request that a new payment be submitted to your current email address. If you have seasoned buyers who paid you I'm sure they will understand and follow through with a new payment.

In the meantime, you could get those items ready to ship since you already have your buyers' information. Maybe add to your comment that you will prepare their shipment and have it ready to go upon receipt of their new payment.

Good luck!

How do I go about canceling the payments? I thought the customers who paid had to do the canceling?

I have one buyer who went ahead and cancelled hers and re-sent payment. Now, only 7 more to go......

Today, has not been a good day... First this with eBay, then my furnace quit (I live in Northeast Ohio.).... All I was trying to do was eBay my way to Disney too... I hope that this works out. Maybe the situation won't look as bad after 8 hours of sleep. (Of course that is assuming that DH can fix the furnace by then. ) Thanks for your help!

Is it possible for these people to cancel the payment to the old address and send it to the new one????? Ughhh!!! And here I thought I was doing so well.......

It's nice to be home.....sorry I missed snowgod!

I haven't caught up, so this may have been answered...The people will see that you didn't claim the payment, if they go into their Paypal. They have to cancel these, you can't. You may have to call Paypal, if you have it set to accept all payments under that old addy..and you have that addy set with Paypal, but you no longer have that addy.

Okay guys, I need some advice. I have bought A LOT of ebay clothing for DD with no problems. I recently won three auctions from the same seller: swimsuit and coverup, sleepers, and a sunhat. After a week, I emailed to ask when she had shipped and got no response. The items did come a couple of days later and according to the postmark she shipped on Monday after my Saturday win/payment, so that was good. Then I opened the box.

1) The sunhat was listed "in excellent condition, with no stains, holes, or wear of any kind" - it's denim and looked pretty good, but the velcro is so worn that it doesn't stick anymore; I gave her a positive only because I would have bought it anyway if she had been honest in the description because I can replace the tiny piece of velcro -- it's a cute hat.
2) The sleepers were listed "in great shape, gently worn and washed, but no stains, marks, holes" - for fleece sleepers I do think they're in nice condition, however, one of them had a good sized (over an inch) spot of dirt on the leg. It was brown and crusty...eeewwww! It did come out in the wash, but Gross!
3) The swimsuit was listed "This set is in perfect condition, and I think it was only worn one time. There are no stains, snags, marks, holes or pilling on this cute little set!" - Well...the coverup looks great. The swimsuit is faded (lighter than matching trim on coverup), and discolored and pilled around the snaps in the crotch area, it looks VERY worn to me.

I emailed the seller several days ago and have received no response. Should I leave negative feedback? Right now she has something like 150 positives and two neutrals, both concerning condition of clothing not being as stated. Thanks for whatever advice you can give, and sorry this got so long!

I sold on ebay from Sept-Dec 2002, then my ancient hand-me-down computer (that had been handed down to the person who gave it to me too) had major problems & we didn't want to risk having it down when auctions were ending, so stopped selling. We broke down and purchased a shiny brand new computer in the fall, but I could not get Turbo Lister to download on it (I'm a computer dummy:( ) so I just kind of forgot about ebay. This thread prompted me to go check our previous selling totals & inventory, and I'm certain that I can make more than enough to cover the trip we are planning, which would appease DH who is having a hard time with paying for the trip out of savings. My problem is Turbo Lister. I even ordered the cd-rom version (free with $4 s/h, act. sh was 0.49) but it will not install. I get a "1607 Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime". I know there is some setting on my computer preventing the download, but I don't know how to find it or fix it. Tried emailing ebay customer service (just about impossible, keeps sending me to help pages & I want an email form). I know I can sell without TL, but for what I have to list, it really helps. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Did you remember to disable your anti virus program before downloading and installing it? If not, I would try it again with it disabled.

After reading a page or two on this thread (couldn't read more than that...LOL), I decided to try eBaying. My dh had already sold some stuff and bought some stuff, so we had an account. He walked me through the steps to sell, we set up a PayPal account, and I listed a ton of "junk" that I've been holding on to for a while (baby clothes, kids clothes, toys, etc.) My husband got in on the act and cleaned out his "man-cave" (the basement!) and listed some stuff of his. I am so totally proud to say that in 3 weeks time, we've made almost $300, just on the junk in our basement!

Not only are we making the money we will use for meals on our trip in May, but we are simplifying our lives and doing a "Clean Sweep"(off camera, of course! LOL)!

My only problem with eBay is how addicting it is, and the fact that I'm constantly scanning my house for things to sell!

Thanks for a great thread!:bounce:

Invoice problem...NEED Help!!!!

I've had several things sell the past week or two. Of those, I have had a few that when I try to send the invoice, I get a page telling me about an input error. I've checked and checked again, but everything is entered correctly, so I'm not sure why this is happening. It just happened again tonight on two auctions. When I look at my "Items I'm selling" page it shows that the invoice has been sent, but when I talk to the buyers, they aren't receiving them.
Any ideas what I could be doing wrong or can do to fix it? TIA

I have been having the input error problem with Ebay too!!! If you figure out how to fix it (Or what causes it), let me know!

Tried cleaning out temp files & cookies? Never know - might help - sure can't hurt!!!

That happened to me two or three times tonight as well and I just assumed they got thier invoice. I had 37 things end tonight and now I can't remember which ones it happened on. Maybe we should just send them again if they haven't paid just in case.

Hey, congratulations! Now you'll be going to yardsales, estate sales, Goodwill, auctions and all kinds of places to look for product to sell. That is if you're really addicted like myself!:teeth:

Welcome back to reality, Doris! You were missed! I meant to say goodby but you left before I got the chance. So you didn't get to meet Joy? I know it's hard. I've had full intentions of meeting Disers there and something always happens. You'd think that since you're on vacation you can just come and go as you please, but it's just not so.LOL

So, tell us all about your trip. How were the crowds and weather? I've been looking at Accuweather every day and so far it looks like we'll have rain one day at least.

I don't know how to fix it, but it's happened to me once. I think I just made a generic invoice for that buyer and apologized for the weirdness of it. Don't know how to actually fix it, though!
