Used ebay's calculator again and again there was an error in the s/h amount. The first time I figured I made an error, so this time I checked what I put in before I listed and all seemed good. I boxed, weighed and added a 75 cents handling fee. I chose parcel post as the delivery choice. Someone won the item and sent 17.08 for the s/h fee. I figured this was an error, because it seemed way to high. This morning at the post office, with insurance, the cost came to 10.01. I refunded the extra amount back to the buyer. But I'm wondering if anyone else is having this same trouble useing ebays calculator. If I didn't pay extra attention to what I was doing as I was using the calculator I would have guessed I made another error in figuring the s/h costs. I like using ebays calculator because it takes all the guess work out of the s/h costs and I don't lose money with shipping. But with whats happening with it, I won't have to sell items to make $$, I can just make a small fortune on shipping them.LOL...

Other than the package being smushed (did you buy insurance? That should cover that..although I'm a firm believer that the shipper shoul dpack well enough, that it would take mailing without getting smushed..of course the time the mail truck ran over one of my packages, no amount of packing would have helped), was there anything else wrong with the item? I thought you had mentioned that he said in the description the item was different from the picture...or did he just say that wasn't the actual picture? If the mistake was his, and it was not as described in the auction (I mean the actual item, not condition), then he should reimburse the shipping.

Also, for those having aucitons end..I've had several people pay, and so far I haven't even gotten the end of auction notice yet!

Is there any way to incorporate the ebay shipping calculator into the Sparedollar listings? I've just started working with it, and it appears that you can't, but I'd welcome feedback from you experienced Sparedollar listers so I don't waste hours looking for it.

It did not state anywhere in the listing that the item was different than the one pictured. He emailed back and said he would pay for the shipping one way. He made another comment on how he understands that the item was damaged in shipping. I wrote back clarifying that while yes I was unhappy it was damaged, I was more unhappy that it wasn't the item pictured.

I had misread this..I thought you were saying that it does say it's not. Well, in that case, he should definately pay the shipping both wasy!!

I re-read the listing and nowhere does it say that the picture is not the actual piece.

My first auction as a matter of fact, at first I was nervous, but that didn't last long at all. I bought a ton of stuff, to sell and to keep!

I just want to say Thank You to everyone who suggested listing by SpareDollar. I was reading the boards last night, checked it out and enrolled. I listed last night and have already sold 6 of my items! I believe it is because of the SD Gallery that shows all of the other items I have for auction. It could just be a coincidence, but I really believe SpareDollar made the difference as my sales have been pretty slow lately. Thanks again and I hope everyone has a GREAT Thanksgiving!

Two unhappy buyers this week. They haven't posted neg FB, but I am upset that my buyers aren't completely satisfied.

Buyer #1 says the measurements in my listing aren't correct, the item won't fit. I've offered a full refund, plus the cost of shipping to return the item to me.

Buyer #2 claims the item has an odor. I didn't open the package to know there was an odor. It's been in our basement for a year. This buyer has left positive FB, but I sure hope the smell washes out. We haven't made arrangements for any sort of refund at this time.

I have a potential buyer who is from England...asking if I would consider shipping to the uk and asking how much shipping would be. I have never shipped outside the us...so am wondering. How would I calculate this? And is it more hassle than its worth?

It is very simple to calculate postage for the UK. Go to theUSPS Website to the calculate postage, international. Put in the weight and destination and it will spit out the postage amount.

There is a little more work, you will have to fill out a customs form, but that should take a few minutes.

I used it today and it makes the auction looks a lot nicer. However, I did not expect the delay in launching and accidentally launched an item twice and ended up paying the listing price twice. I deleted one listing and asked E-Bay to refund me for that, we will see what happens.

However, I now become very afraid of hitting the "launch" button. But if I want to revise my listing, after I use the "edit" function, how do I get them to revise the actual e-bay listing after it has already been launched?

I sold two of ten items, but did get quite a few hits today *shrug.* The items I did, one had a bid by Monday, the other early this morning. My items were scheduled to end 7PST/10EST.

Oh well I will relist them on Sunday and hope they do better.
