UPDATE on the smilies! .. You can now use 8! :bounce: :bounce:

Just checking.... :p

I have received positive feedback from everyone so far however, I just received feedback on a purchase that was won on 6/30 at 11:00pm and I shipped the item the next morning via media mail and the buyer put.."fairly quick shipping". Ugh!!. Blow it off right?

Nelle,

I thought media mail was cheaper. I used it without checking. I think it is usually 1.42. How much is first class?

Also does anyone know how much DC is on first class if printed off the shipping assistant?

.13..amd ,ust be 3/4 of an inch thick.

What are your thoughts on opening auctions to international bidders?

They know the shipping will be a little higher and don't mind. I've sent all over. I specify UK and Canada (in addition to the US), but most people don't seem to know where they live, and I really don't care. They usually pay via Paypal (costs a little more) or concealed cash (most often). We've sent to Austrailia, China, Germany, Scotland France, Ireland, etc.
I send air letter, unless it works out to be cheaper Global (which I think is just 8 X 10). The only problem with the inexpensive shipping (by air, never by boat) is you can't buy insurance..you have to use the more expensive shipping. I always give them a choice of the two ways. So far nothing has gone amiss, and I have sent a lot overseas, and some stuff has been very expensive.

WHOA! I just got this email and I don't even understand exactly what he is asking!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi...
could you ship to Indonesia?
i really want to buy .......,give me your price, and for payment i
only
could pay you by my credit card direct by swipe machine or merchant
account, that you can just charge , and you can take 5% as a charge
cost.email me with total amount plus shipping by FedEx Int'l Priority

thanks

ANyone what to explain any of this???????
TIA

Wow, not a clue. I get the fedex interenational by priority but the part about the swipe machine totally confuses me!

PS - I have a Jacob and Matthew too!!

could you ship to Indonesia?

You know..in my last email, I was going to put..I ship everywhere but Indonesia..but I thought..why poison other people's minds LOL.

I will not sell or ship to Indonesia. They are famous for doing chargebacks on their credit cards. I would tell them you will ship to them only if they ship concealed cash. You most likely will never hear from them again. I hate to even say this (I apologize if anyone from Indonesia is on this board) but they also seem to have a high incidence of using stolen credit cards.

I am on SUCH a roll here, I can't believe it!!

Now I'm wondering about something though.. Remember how I've been saying that people were waiting till the last minute to bid? Well - I have changed 99% of my auctions from 7 days to 5 days and I've noticed that people are jumping on things right away - more bids are coming in faster - and the prices are going higher.. Doesn't even matter what time of the day (or what DAY) I put them up - they're just doing much, MUCH better!

What do you all think? Better strategy or just coincidence?

Whichever it is, it's GREEN - and that's all I care about - LOL!;)

The lady at the post office said it would be cheaper to ship first class but I already had the label on there for media mail so I let it go media.

If you shipping something very light like a GameBoy game then first class is cheaper.

Media Mail up to 1 lb is $1.42
First Class is cheaper if the package weighs between 1 oz-5 oz.

Was it a positive? If so, it doesnt matter what they wrote.

There is a post on the Community Board Thread with a link to an Ebay thread about the Indonesian scams. Dont ship there...block him and move on.

Okay, C.Ann, I'm jumping in with the 5 day auctions! Let's put it to the test, LOL! I have 5 auctions that I'm starting this evening and I'm going to try them for 5 days. I'll let you know how it goes.

It has been a very "green" week for me also. Maybe we are getting all the customers since alot of people didn't list over the holiday??

Wishing everyone green!

Susan

I had a bidder who paid for an auction by eCheck. As soon as her payment cleared she emailed me and asked that I leave her positive feedback.

I was going to leave it right after I shipped the item like I have been doing, but went ahead and did it. But I just thought it was kind of weird.

Now she said she received the item and thanks for the fast shipping, but there is a problem -first, the handles or shorter than she would have liked, but she said she should have asked before bidding, and also it is coming apart at one seam. I suppose this could happen and she sent me a picture of it - but I do check everything before I ship. She of course said she likes it and doesn't want to send it back to be fixed or replaced. I emailed her to ask what she thought a fair solution would be. I'm holding my breath on this one. I am really worried about getting a negative or neutral so soon.

I have a small online store and have had stolen CC scams from there and from Singapore. But those were high priced multiple items. I was unsure how to proceed with 1 small item....I think I will skip it and move on...not worth the risk. Besides the shipping is way more than the item even cost! Thanks for the advice.

C.Ann I PMed you!!!

Is it beginning to be Back To School time? Seems I remember that early July was the time for kids clothes to kick off really well?

C.Ann I PM'ed you.

What have I done?? I just spent over an hour getting one package ready to go and not only am I tired, but I'm a nervous wreck about this one.. It's breakable items and I packed them REAL well - even double boxed - but I'm SOOOO afraid they won't arrive at their destination safely.. Also, there were some defects on these items - that I clearly stated in the auctions - but this person emailed me about cutting WAAAAY back on the shipping (which I didn't do) and now I'm afraid by her tone that she may try to neg me.. :( Acutally, now that I've got this stuff all boxed up to go I'm not even sure if she paid me ENOUGH postage! Guess I'll just have to hold my breath and hope for the best..

I've got a few more things ready to go - and more I have to pack up tonight.. Wanna come over and help me? Please? Pretty, PRETTY please???????

------------------

Oh - does anyone know if I can get DC for a package going to Puerto Rico? And can I get it on-line with the Shipper's Assistant?

Also, can I tape two huge manila envelopes together to ship as one item rather than mailing them separately?

Thanks all...

I'll be back to chat and answer questions after I finish packing up the rest of these orders..................

Well, I'm back from my FL vacation, and the 4th at PI was a blast! We stayed at VWL from 7/2 thru 7/5, stayed out of the parks, but swam, relaxed, ate, played miniature golf at Fantasia Gardens (never did that before - what fun), ate, rode the boats and monorail, swam, ate and generally had a great time. We got the $16 PI tickets via Ticketmania, and the packet was waiting for us at checkin, as requested - great deal! Spent the 4th at PI from about 8:00 on, and experienced all the Adventurer's Club shows, and I was even picked to be in one (I was Greta in the radio show)! I ended up getting an AC pin, and a cocktail napkin and book of matches for the "Atlantis Bar & Grill" that are props for the show... my first thought - "Can I sell them on ebay?!?!?"

Went to the 2 Belz outlet stores and picked up what I hope will be some good ebay mechandise - I'll let you know. Stuck with items that were at least 50% off, most were 75% off. Also hit a flea market and picked up an unopened packaged men's barbeque apron for $0.25 - same thing is selling on ebay for $6 to $7.50 - cool!

Glad to hear that this has been a good ebay week for many of you! I have to get to work listing and get in on that! ;) My new goal is to pay for our October trip's airline tickets that I just charged - then our park tickets, too! High hopes but doable, I think!

Well, here in my area the kids don't go back to school until September..but I guess for kids that start early August (like the South) it would be back to school time.

I have decided to sell some magazine ads on eBay and I am looking for an online source for purchasing cardboard or chipboard in certain sizes. Does anyone have any suggestions?

My son's school opens a month from today. I noticed that the neighborhood stores have their back to school stuff up already. That may be a sign!
