You HAVE to try this!! EBAY your way to DISNEY Part 2!!!!

Try Mr. Clean's Magic Eraser. Even if it doesn't work on that you will LOVE it for everything else!!!

if you are self insuring an item, and it breaks, are you responsible for refunding the shipping also? what about if you ask that the item be mailed back, for proof, who pays for that?

*sigh* What's wrong with people? I say in my auction that I combine shipping. For the third time in a row, someone won multiple items and still pays full shipping on both. Oy! Even after I sent an email asking for their zip so I could calculate combined shipping. *banging head on wall* Why do people want to pay me more money?? (I know, weird vent!)

Does the PO refund the cost of postage? This would be my guide. Personally I wouldn't refund the cost of postage/shipping for the way there. If requested it to be returned then that should be paid for by the seller, IMO. Personally I would ask for a photo as proof, why pay out more then necessary?

Combined Shipping:
I had a lady do this. She purchased two items, paid for them immediately after the auction ended (they ended about two hours apart), paid full shipping for both. I still shipped them together. IMO, if a buyer can not read the auction/auction terms it is there loss if they end up paying more for shipping then necessary.

When I self insure, it covers the shipping too...after all, why should they have to pay for it.
I believe that the PO also refunds shipping. I don't think they refund the cost of the insurance.
You can find insurance info here:

http://pe.usps.gov/text/dmm/s010.htm#Rgf16915

Specifically this:

3.2Loss or Total Damage

If the insured, registered, or COD article is lost or the entire contents totally damaged, the payment includes an additional amount for the postage (not fee) paid by the sender. Postage for Express Mail is refunded under S500.

I'm going to bring this up one more time, just because I got no response before...has anyone at all seen a drop in sales since the change of the browse features?

In art , the regular listings are up to 20 pages behind the featured listings. That means items ending today, this minute even are behind the featured listings that are newly listed. Makes for very few hits.

I don't know how many of you sell on huge categories, but this could be affecting (or is it effect? I need to look that up, :scratchin ) your sales...

Just wondering if I can get any feedback from anyone...

:)
Robin

I'm not selling or buying art but have found no difference to how things are listed when I do searches. Sorry.

Does anyone know how you go about becoming a magazine broker? It seems like a great way to sell on ebay - no shipping, just forwarding magazine orders. And you can offer great deals. How do you get into this kind of business?

Thanks-

I haven't really noticed a slow down too much. But I think bidding is somtime cyclical. Remember April 15 just passed so those who paid taxes may be feeling abit tight.

I love the new Beta - excellent. I get to see how many people are tracking my items. I thought I was striking out on a few but it has 10 watchers so hoping for bidding war at the end. Love it.

Now on bulk seller especially magazines, be very careful they usually only make money for the distributor. You can be left with loads of merchandise you probably have to pay upfront for.
BE CAREFUL!

OK, I was playing with the new MyEbay and I deleted all my ended auctions! Not a big deal, except for two which just ended yesterday and I haven't left feedback yet. Is there any way to find a ended auction? I tried searching on my username, but I couldn't find the closed ones... (Yes, I'm an idiot!)

Oh, and how long do you usually wait for media mail? I'm coming up on two weeks now. I know it takes longer, but...

If you click on your Feedback menu it will tell you what auctions you still need to leave feedback for.

What do you mean, exactly? My understanding about the magazines is that you have a list of available magazines and their prices, and then you take subscription orders, adding on whatever profit over the base price you want. Granted, you'd have to sell alot of magazines to make it worthwhile...

I'm not certain about the magazine broker as well. I don't really know how it works.

As for another poster, I have not seen a decline since the new categories/browsing features have been installed.

I have also checked out the beta my ebay. It looks very similiar to the Ebay Selling assistant that used to cost $5 per month. I have poked around with the beta test, and I cant seem to find where you can tell when others are watching your auction. How do you find out that info?

Go to search, click on it. Then click on seller, and when the boxes come up, put in yoru ebay id, and say you want to look at completed auctions..put in for last week. If you can't find it..pm me your ebay id and I'll send you your link.

Thanks, DMRick and sorchamac - I found it both ways. Just was having a dumb blonde moment! :teeth:

PLEASE HELP...what shoul I do>>> I just received this letter from a buyer,

Hi, I just received the games. The Masterpiece game is far from complete. All the painting are missing, the clips are missing and the all but one marker is missing. I paid decent money for these games and e-mailed you to ask for sure if all pieces were there. This was a game I had when I was a kid and really looked forward to getting. I would like my money back plus shipping. Please advise. Teri

All the peieces were there when I sent it! It was 100% complete! I'm sure not going to sell a masterpeice game with no paintings for goodness sake.

What would you do? If she sends it back than naturally she isn't going to be sending those pieces back and now worthless to me.
What would you do?

*********edit******
Here's a letter I started to compse, its still incomplete because I don't know what to do.

Teri, I'm sorry but I find that impossible! That game was 100% complete when I shipped it. There is no way those items could be missing and I certainly wouldn't sell it that way. I would have nothing to gain by risking my Ebay reputation selling something so obviously incomplete for a mere $5.00.
Was the package opened or damaged in any way? Did somebody open it prior to you?

Didn't get to bed till 4 a.m. and I'm still feeling kind of fuzzy, but I'll try to answer..

First off, you're coming across as way too defensive right from the gate.. That will set up a scenario for barbs being thrown back and forth and lessen the likelihood of a suitable conclusion to the transaction..

Start off with something like - "Oh my! I'm so sorry to hear that! I don't understand as all of the pieces were definitely there when I advertised and shipped the item.. Could you tell me if the package was damaged or appeared to have been opened? Please let me know as soon as possible so we can work on this matter together.."

Or something along those lines.. Don't tick the customer off right away or it's going to end up being a MAJOR headache..;)

On the magazines, if you remember years ago this was the same thing the did door to door. You were the broker. Look very carefully at the contract and check with your better business bureau to make sure the company is legit. I am not saying it is not but be very careful or you could be on the hook.

phorsenuf - I like the letter right to the point. Did you use a picture in your auction? Was it of the game and pieces?
I got burned this way once buyer claimed I sent wrong item. Now I take a digital picture with item next to package with label.
