You HAVE to try this!! EBAY your way to DISNEY Part 2!!!!

SO, I am contemplating sending this item with a Signature Required.

As long as the signature part is in your TOS (terms of service). I know I wouldn't be happy if I wasn't home and had to wait to go to the post office on a busy Saturday to pick up something I won on eBay. Why not just insure it and put on delivery confirmation?

According to the buyer, someone is at home all the time. I asked before doing this. I just want to make sure I've covered myself.

Thanks!

I shipped an item on the 29th of March with dc at the po.
I shipped it with a paypal label and it is still stating that the package is still expected for mailing. I am going today to see if the po has anymore information on this package (sent parcel post).
Anyone have any idea as to what else i can do? Can they put a tracer on it or anything after being mailed? The buyer is getting nervous (understandably so since i let her know when i mailed it) and I have no clue what i can do to trace this down etc.

Thanks,
Sharon

Hi! I have a problem. I've been selling since I discovered this thread in February with no problems (made over $700 so far!). Now, however, when I click on 'sell' at Ebay, it directs me to an update/change your credit card info. page. Frustrated after numberous attempts to get by this, since they already have all this info., and none has expired, I entered my credit card info. again (this is on Ebay site, not a scam through my email). My account shows that my credit card is authorized on that date, but it still won't let me sell, just keeps directing me to update my credit card information again. I emailed them yesterday (boy, that's a pain, trying to get to a point when I can avoid their help suggestions and actually email someone), but they haven't responded.
Has anyone ever had this happen to them? It's been a week now, I have items I want to list, but can't do it. I'm actually considering opening a new sellers account, but I now have 94 stars (all positive) and hate to throw that away and restart with none.
Of course, no problem with buying on Ebay - that seems to work fine!

I haven't used the Paypal label system, but when I send packages with a DC printed from the Shipping Assistant, it will very often just say "package expected for mailing on THIS date" until the day it arrives at the destination. I think one, out of 20 or so packages, actually had more info in the DC. Not much help, is it? I don't know if the PO would have any more info for you, but you could always try. I did send a package parcel post once, and it took ten days to get there, from Mississippi to Jacksonville. Most of the time it's much faster, but it can happen!

well i checked with po and they checked on there internal system and gave me a letter stating that it left my post office on the 31st of March . So I am covered as far as the lady knowing I actually did send the package. I told her to wait until monday , if she didn't receive it by then I would look into what else i could do with the po to find it for her. I did send her the letter from the po in email so she knows I am not scamming her.
Also mailed out more today and asked the po to give me a print out of items mailed, they kindly did . With paypal labels you have no proof that u did take it to po but if you can get them to do the print out at your po it is proof you actually did mail the item.

If this item doesn't show up i am not sure I am going to give her a refund or not. Because if it does show up it will be at her addy not mine (chance are) and that would mean she gets a free jacket and free postage for it. Also though I don't want neg feedback. So I am not sure what i can do. Any ideas???

If you mailed it and have proof I would not offer a refund. Did the buyer insure it? If so then she should file a claim with the PO if not maybe next time she might consider insurance. Of course this is just my opinion. But why would a buyer ever opt for insurance if the seller will offer a refund regardless?

I wouldn't worry too much. As said before, I think ALL of my packages I mailed with the shipping assistant label say "Waiting to be dropped off at P.O." or whatever until it is actually received.

You also have to remember that this is a busy mailing time. With the IRS forms going out and all the Easter stuff. You wouldn't believe the line I stood in on Monday at the PO! Everyone in the city seemed to be either mailing out Easter boxes or sending in their taxes.

The PO won't do anything until it has been missing for 30 days.

I have a question i hope someone can answer for me. I am new to e-bay shopping and have won 6 auctions & sent out money orders for the items, I do not have a paypal account. there are some that ONLY take paypal. Some of these items i would love to bid on. How does paypal work...and how secure is it? I'm not crazy about giving out my credit card # for it, and also do not want to set up a separate bank account for paypal since I won't be shopping that much (I hope...lol ) and i do not plan on selling anything. Just an occasional shopper.

Okay, I have a problem. Someone bid on an auction of mine. Has -2 feedback and is in Hong Kong when my auction states I only ship within the U.S.

Should I e-mail him/her and tell them I don't ship out of the country or just cancel the bid and block or what? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

I had a similar experiance with someone in Canada, and I also state that I do not ship out of the US.

I emailed him and asked if he had a US addy I could ship this to and told him again that I don't ship out of US as per my ads say. He did and everything worked out fine. So check first they may have a US addy you can ship to.
Hope this helps.

I'd cancel the bid and block the bidder--I would email a foreign bidder with good feedback to see if they had a US address, but cancel a foreign bidder with such abysmal feedback!

I decided to give it a shot (will be having things to list that require numerous photos) but was very disappointed to see that they don't have the shipping calculator like the Turbo Lister..:(

It's going to be time consuming to look up each method of shipping, then add in the handling, etc.. Any chance of them adding a better calculator than just directing you to the USPS site? The only other option I can see is to check off that I'll add the shipping later and then have to go into revisions on eBay and do the calculating there - which again will take up a lot more time..:(

Also - they have no way of working off-line?

Ok I have another question - I sold one of my husband's sega genesis games and I listed it as Complete in Box (that it's the cartridge, manual and box) and I had a bidder email me asking about the condition. I told him it was in great condition and the manual had upturned corners. Well when he received the game he emailed me to let me know the cover of the manual was missing. I felt really bad as I had no idea that was the case it doesn't look torn off it is just missing the front and back cover. I apologized and told him I would certainly refund his money if he shipped back the game. He shipped it back and I refunded the money. Now here is where my question comes in - would you send a second chance offer and mention the missing cover (I have never done a second chance offer so I am not sure if you have a place to add comments before you send it?) or would you just relist the item with the new details?
Also is there a way to recapture the Ebay fees with the listing I refunded the money on?

Thanks this is another first for me!

Update to the whole situation with the Hong Kong bidder...

He ended up winning the auction before I could cancel his bid. He has only 2 feedbacks and they're both negative saying that he never payed. I don't exactly know what to do now.

What I want to do is e-mail him saying that it states that I only ship within the U.S. and that I have to relist the item and then relist. Is there any other steps I need to take? I'm fearing that he would actually pay for it after I've already relisted.

What should I do? Thanks, everyone.

Well, seeing how they have already won the auction, this could get a little tricky.

First things first. Go to this site on ebay and block this bidder from any of your other auctions. So this way if you do have to relist the item, they can not bid on it.

Use this link to block this bidder.
http://pages.ebay.com/services/buyandsell/biddermanagement.html

Second: I think you will have to wait to see if this bidder pays for the item. But I think the best thing to do is get in contact asking them how they will pay. Where they are wanted the itme shipped to. If you don't hear anything from them, in a few days, I think you should start the NPB paperwork, and if you can offer the item to the next higher bidder. And also file for your FVF from ebay.

I hope all works well for you.

I would just go ahead and relist the item. Chances are that the bidder who was the next in line, may have already won the game in another auction.

You can go ahead and file for the FVF on the first auction. Just state as the reason for the refund, was a refund to the buyer.

My best suggestion might be to actually DELETE that credit card, wait a day and then enter it again as a new credit card.

Otherwise, I would call paypal directly to speak with a live body.

Also, possibly delete all of your temp files and clear your cookies and try relogging in again. Never know......

You don't need an account to buy on PayPal. If you have a debit or credit card you can buy an item easily. The separate accounts are for concerned selllers. I personally have had more problems with banks than I have with PayPal!

Thanks ekmDisney!

Another question - when I go to file the FVF credit the criteria for filing says you should have filed a NPD alert first? The person paid my promptly so I don't want to have any action against the first buyer - can I just skip that part and go to the FVF credit part? Thanks again!!!!
