You have a job now so can we stay go for free?

We sent my best friends to BWV for their honeymoon and the only way we could convince them to take the room was if we kept their old TV that we were storing while their house was built.

I think we came out slightly ahead in the deal...we gave them a lifetime memory, they gave us the Simpsons on a larger screen. :)

I could see myself making a comment like your friend. Of course, I would be joking and I think all my friends would know that I was kidding. It would probably go something like "So, Cool!! You can give me that DVC studio for free now!! ;) ;) ;) " At which point, my best friend would suggest that I go perform some perverse act by myself and we would both laugh.

I mean I love my best friend to death and maybe someday I will give her a trip to WDW on my points but trust me it would not be a common occurance especially after saying something like that

I could easily see myself giving my best friend a week in a DVC studio for free. And, I could easily see him doing the same in return. But, we both know that the other would do most anything. It just so happened that he was heading for Vegas this past winter for a week while my truck was in the shop. So, he had his DW drop the keys to his Jaguar off so I could drive it until my truck was done. My coworkers couldn't believe it. I couldn't figure out why people would seem that was so odd.

To Crissup.
You are lucky to have a "good" best friend, one that appreciates and reciprocates. That is a rarity these days. We offered to take my SIL and her friend (who is like your friend) along for the next trip to BWV. Her friend (not her) wanted to pay us for her share of the room. It seems to be a one-sided relationship. I guess in my case, I married my best friend, and he HAS to be nice, I make him!

Why on earth would she buy into DVC when she gets a great vacation every year for only $600? I am afraid she likes the deal she is getting.

These are your points. You have saved, forgone other things in order to have it. Now that you have your job (congrats!!) you may be able to go more often. Use your points on your family, take the extra trips and if this friend who has new cars all the time wants to go let them pay cash rates or buy into DVC.

When people take your generosity for granted it is time to reevaluate. Skip a year taking them, take an extra trip yourself and see if she is excited because you get to go an extra trip or if she is angry that she is not getting the cheapo trip. Then you will know if she truly appreciates what you do for her (nad maybe she will buy her own points!!!!)

My advice, I'd tell her now that you have the second income you no longer have a need to rent to her in order to offset the dues.

Then I'd give her the phone number for Disney Travel Company. :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

Boy that is huge nerve on your FRIENDS part. We are going in August with my family, and have had the opposite problem. I am taking them because I want to, but they are fighting me tooth and nail to pay me for the studio's they will be occupying. But believe me it is a one time only deal, unless it's mom and dad, to whom I owe my life to. God I just can't believe your friend would say that to you, and mean it.
