"You Guys Are Cast Members... Right?" - A December 2011 TR

That's so cool that two years ago today was your first time at Disney! :thumbsup2 I was sitting around the other day and I realized, "a year ago I was in Disney..." and I think I cried a little bit. Ah, bittersweet memories!

Riding the teacups alone sounds like a total ME PARTY (a party by myself). Now you have that song stuck in your head. You're welcome. :p

AHHH okay so I write my comments as I read, and I just noticed on the next line that you called it a "me party" too! Rather than hide my embarassment and erase my previous comment, I'm just going to leave it as further proof that you and I are the same person. ::yes::

Yay! You got your shirt! :thumbsup2

HAHAHA I pictured the scenario inside Pinocchio's, and I died laughing. Not literally, but it was super funny. :rotfl2:

Well, stroller lady...that was awkward. I can't believe she didn't apologize, even after her unnecessarily sarcastic "are you having a nice rest?" comment. She was probably ridiculously embarassed. HA.

Awww yay! I'm glad you met back up with your friends!

I love your Wishes pictures. My camera does weird things too, no big deal. They're great!

MSEP. MY LIFE. I can't wait. :hyper: :faint:

Awww, I always think about Disney milestones like yours, 2 years ago being your first trip! :cheer2: I always think "I was in Disney exactly a year ago, at MVMCP" or "6 months ago I was at the Wilderness Lodge" or stupid things like that. Even in June, I keep thinking "wow, I was in Disney last month!" :rotfl:

OMG I wish you rode the teacups alone! :cool1: I really have to try to ride more things alone and get over feeling stupid and embrace looking like an idiot! Because I look like an idiot when I'm on rides with Brandon, so I might as well just do on things alone...it's not like I'll ever see any of these people again! :rotfl2:

Haha, I don't think I've ever looked up on IASW to see if anyone was waving, but now I will! In fact, I want to sit at that table for 5 and wave to people myself! :rotfl:

Glad you finally met up with your friends, I feel like you were alone for such a long time! :cool1:

Glad you were finally able to hook back up with your friends, even if it meant waving to IASW riders a second time. ;) Love the Wishes photos. No matter what your perspective, its a great show. During my last visit we watched it while riding BTMMR. That's one of my fav things to do.

I know I'm not completely caught up, so back to read.

I understood your hesitation to ride the tea cups alone, and I did imagine you sitting at PVH waving at the window and :rotfl2:

You're right, might have looked weird to those not in the know. I'm so glad that your friends finally came back. Yay for your first Wishes!

Can't wait to hear how the rest of the night went!

Thanks! Hahah, seriously though, I'm sure that was so funny to witness.

Me too! Good grief, I was alone for too long! At least now I know what a solo trip would be like, hahah.

Great update! You had me laughing talking about being the only one in a tea cup. And sitting alone at the table in PVH. Reid & I sat at one of those tables during the MVMCP in 2010. He loved waving at everyone & he would try to tell them our "ride rules" through the glass: Sit down & don't act crazy. We sat there so long waving to people that he fell asleep for a moment with his forehead propped up against the glass.

So glad you got to see Wishes! Can't wait to hear about the rest of the night!

Thank you! Hahah I'm glad!

That is SO cute. Aww! HAHAHA I love his ride rules. How clever! Although it's sad because that's the night you were sick, right? :(

Firstly, that's awesome how you've already reached four trips in two years. I went to Disney for the first time two years ago and I've only been twice since. I wish you more Disney trips in the years to come!

Yay Fantasyland! Definitely one of the best parts of MK. I can't believe though how many people were there especially with how you explain it. I mean, you even turned away from the Mad Tea Party, that NEVER gets a long line. Just... wow! But I totally agree about the Cheshire Cafe, it would really be so much cooler as an actual cafe with the whole Unbirthday scene as an inspiration. Wicked cool! It would be like if they made a new TS based off Tiana's Place from PatF... okay enough of my Disney fantasies... moving along...

Yeah don't feel bad about doing ANYTHING on your own in Disney. People should know by now (and sadly the don't) that DISers do WHAT they want WHEN they want. Thumbs up to Pinocchio's Village Haus and getting your shirt from Sir Mickey's, can't wait to see that! And again, yeah don't feel weird about waving to the people on It's A Small World, they enjoy that a lot usually (: LOL @ your little food trouble, I guess they just were trying to find the perfect chicken tenders, mhm, yeah, let's go with that.

Oooo... Fantasyland looks really pretty at night during Christmastime, just adding that to my list now of reasons why I NEED to go to Disney in December... LOL @ the whole stroller debacle, I can't believe how that lady reacted, but I think I've done the same thing. I'm just not socially equipped at all... lol Okay, maybe not since I usually do that around family haha

Glad to hear you find your friends again and just in time for Wishes! Isn't it such an amazing show? I watched it for the first time in Fantasyland behind the castle. While I didn't see Tinkerbell fly across the castle and the other castle effects, it was pretty cool having the 360 view. Did you know the girl who sings the "Star Light, Star Bright" part actually sang that as part of a Make-A-Wish thing? She had cancer. It makes me so sad now to hear that. Love MAW

Thumbs up to going back to Pinocchio's Village Haus! Sorry though you didn't get to go on BTMRR, love that ride!

Can't wait to read about the rest of your night! :mickeyjum

Thanks Timmy! Three times is awesome too!

Yeah, that was the first day we witnessed the incoming crowds, the rest of the trip was perfect crowd-wise. I'm glad you agree about the Cheshire Cafe hahaha. I think that would be awesome. OMG. Tiana's Place would be WONDERFUL! I feel like now that they're doing Be Our Guest restaurant they should keep the streak going! Tiana's Place, Ratatouille, a REAL Pizza Planet... the possibilities are endless!

No, I didn't. I totally would have gone for it, I just had to imagine how funny it would look. The line was pretty crazy for the Mad Tea Party, that's for sure! Hahah I totally didn't feel bad. It was fun!

I say this to everyone, and I'll say it to you too. If you love Christmas, and you love Disney, then you ABSOLUTELY MUST GO TO DISNEY AT CHRISTMAS TIME!!! It's simply the best. And yeah, I thought the stroller lady was super weird.

I really did love Wishes! Omg... is that true? I'm seriously crying right now... that just breaks my heart!

That's okay, we got to go on it on our first day so at least we got to do it once!

Ok, so I definitely laughed thinking about you waving at the small world riders with others thinking you were waving at the wall!! how funny would that be!

I watched your castle lighting video. OMG, I wanted to cry. I'm sure I would if I was there. Is Frontierland a good spot to watch Wishes from? (not that you have anything else to compare it to, haha! dumb question)

We ate at Pinocchio's also on our trip. I think they changed the line system because it was not really how u described it when we were there.

Hahaha! I know right? Too funny. Oh well! :lmao:

Awww you did?! It's okay if you did cry haha. I definitely did too. It's so beautiful! There's nothing like it, seriously. Nah, not a dumb question! I mean, I've seen the other shows from Main Street and it's definitely the better spot, but Frontierland wasn't too bad. You couldn't really see Tinkerbell and you couldn't see the effects on the castle. Also, the fireworks shoot off from different places so it's hard to know where to look. However, you still see the fireworks and hear the music! PLUS, we were literally the only ones on the little bridge so it was perfect! I couldn't even imagine the crowd on Main Street. So it may not be the best spot, but it's still a good one.

Oh really? Weird! Well I know they changed the menu, so maybe they changed some other stuff too! OR, maybe I just didn't describe it well enough. I don't know. Hahah.

I'm sorry to hear that the lines were so long, but it does seem like you kept yourself well amused! I don't ever worry about looking like a fool at Disney, if you can't look silly there, I don't think you can ever look silly anywhere!

Glad you found the shirt you were looking for! And the awesome table at PVH! :thumbsup2

How cool that you saw Wishes for the first time on Main Street! I'm glad to hear that you liked it!!!

It's okay! It was the only day we encountered big crowds. Hahah, I don't either. But when I was thinking about it I was picturing how funny/awkward it would look. Hahah. I would have ridden if the line had been normal!

Thanks! Me too, I love it! The table was definitely the 'prime waving location' of the place!

We actually watched from Frontierland! :)

That's so cool that two years ago today was your first time at Disney! :thumbsup2 I was sitting around the other day and I realized, "a year ago I was in Disney..." and I think I cried a little bit. Ah, bittersweet memories!

Yay! You got your shirt! :thumbsup2

I love your Wishes pictures. My camera does weird things too, no big deal. They're great!

MSEP. MY LIFE. I can't wait. :hyper: :faint:

I know! Hahah I do that all the time too. It stinks, Disney has spoiled us! Real life just can't compare. HAHA.

HAHAHA OMG JONI. That's awesome! Oddly enough, I do the same thing, and MORE THAN ONCE I've had to leave a comment that said "Oh oops, I just realized I wrote the same thing you wrote before I knew you wrote it." TWINS! It would have been a total Me Party! Darn those long lines. Hahahah.

I love my shirt! I realize I haven't mentioned it toooooo many times in the TR, but it was in the back of my mind the whole trip to look for it so I was so glad to find it!

HAHAHA I'm so glad you enjoyed that. I can only imagine walking into a place and seeing some crazy girl waving at seemingly nothing. It's too funny. I just decided that whenever we go to Disney together, we should sit in a restaurant and wave at the wall for a while... see if anyone questions us. You game? :cool2:

Oh I know. What gives stroller lady? WHAT GIVES? I feel like I would be more embarrassed if I'd walked away. I'd want to at least redeem myself a little bit. Hahah oh well, he probably laughed it off and she probably felt bad for a while, so things worked out. :rotfl:

Aww, well thanks! I'm glad you understand my camera issues. It will probably make more sense when I put that video up!

Well my friend, you are in for a TREAT because I have some interesting MSEP stories. :thumbsup2 YAY!!!

Oh I do the same thing!! Hahaha this board was just made for people like us! For example... two years ago I was in the food court at All Star Music having my very first MICKEY BAR!!!

I wish I did too! I feel like I need to now. I think I actually may insist on riding by myself next month and see what the results are. I really wanted to ride it actually!

YOU SHOULD! I'm always gonna do it now, too! And a lot of the time it's little kids waving, so it's that much more cute! They get so happy when you wave back (not that I know how that feels or anything... I only felt decent when they waved back :rolleyes1)! HAHAHA please do sit at a table for 5 and wave! That would make me so happy! Hahah!

Oh I know! It must have really felt like that, especially since I've been writing about being by myself for like, over a month now. Haha I promise it wasn't THAT long, just a day! I mean obviously that's still a long time but... you know what I mean!

Me too! Yeah, goodness, I sacrificed for them, what can I say? Well thanks! That's very true! That sounds awesome! How cool it must be to look up while you're on a ride and see fireworks. Wow!

Take your time! Thanks for reading this post though! :goodvibes

you know what? I rode it's a small world 3 x in Jan. and DID NOT realize you could look up and see people in PVH! The last thing we did before we left was eat there and we realized we could see the boats - why did I not notice you can see PVH from iasw??

ok I cracked up about the woman trying to steal the man's stroller! lol.

I don't know! Hahah that's funny. Well hey, now you know! You should definitely look up next time! Maybe I'll be up there waving at yall. :lmao:

I know right? How strange is that??? Hahah.

GUESS. WHAT.

I JUST CAUGHT UP!

Both on your TR AND PTR. And oh man, as I was reading your TR there was SO MUCH I wanted to comment on but then this seriously would've ended up being 340583 pages long. So that being said, I will say I am so happy you enjoyed the PeopleMover because it's one of my favs, that Stitch experience sounds HILARIOUS (every time I've gone on it some kid ends up freaking out and needs to leave :confused3... I think it's a cute attraction!), aaaand I would also like to know what a Chickmunk is. :rotfl:

Also, reading your TR made me realize that if we can pull off our Disneyland trip in December, I am going to be SO happy to see all of the decorations there! It'd be the last weekend of November/early December (shh, I haven't announced anything in my PTR about it yet, so you're the first to know!), so we'd get to see the decorations with hopefully less crowds. ANYWAY, thanks to your TR I've just gotten even more excited about it!

NOW! I'm going to play this guessing game on your ADRs, so I am hoping I get some right!

Okay, one of the 2 at resorts HAS to be Cape May Buffet, for breakfast! Hello, Beach Club PLUS character meal?! Heck to the yes. So that's my first guess.

And based on your love for Crystal Palace, I'm going with an ADR there for sure.. but for lunch or dinner!

For #3 and #4, I'm going to say Via Napoli for dinner and maybe Chefs de France for lunch? Remy is too cute to pass up!

Okay, so back to MK, going with CP again! Guess #5 there.

And number 6... at a resort. This one is tough, not going to lie. Hm. Okay, I'm going wiiiith CHEF MICKEY'S!

I hope I got some of these right! :goodvibes

Aww I love riding the Mad Tea Party at night. It's extra dizzying (is that even a word? The spellchecker didn't do the red wavy underline thing). It's too bad you didn't go on. Though I understand why you didn't...long lines are no fun.

If I were on It's a Small World, I totally would've waved back at you. Who leaves someone hanging on a wave? It's almost worse than leaving someone hanging on a high-five.

I'm so glad you finally got to see Wishes! It's quite magical. I feel like I've seen it 80000 times, but it still gives me goosebumps. :thumbsup2

It sure was! That's why I didn't mind us sitting there for a while.

Oh, I TOTALLY get that!

GUESS. WHAT.

YAY!!!! I'm so excited!

Oh don't worry about it! I totally get it haahh. YES, the PeopleMover was awesome. The Stitch experience was INSANE. And yes... no clue about those chickmunks!

Oh man! That would be awesome!!! Hahah don't worry I won't tell anyone... YAY. Omg, Disneyland has such an awesome Christmas parade. It's called Christmas Fantasy and I honestly am a little obsessed with it. It's beautiful and so fun! I hope yall do get to go!!!

YAY, thanks for playing my game! Okay, BUT, I'm gonna give you a re-do on one of them. Unfortunately, Cape May is closed for refurb during our trip and literally opens like two days after we leave. BUT you didn't know that! And honestly, we wanted to go there but we can't, so you WOULD be right! The official rules state that if the player is unaware of the closure of a restaurant that they guess, they can make a replacement guess. (It's my game, I make the rules. Hahaha.) So... yeah! If you want to guess one new place, go for it!

Aww I love riding the Mad Tea Party at night. It's extra dizzying (is that even a word? The spellchecker didn't do the red wavy underline thing). It's too bad you didn't go on. Though I understand why you didn't...long lines are no fun.

Hahaha I'm thinking dizzying is definitely a word. An AWESOME word. I've never actually done the teacups at night! I will have to test this extra dizzying theory next month during EMH. :)

Well thank you! I know, really. Honestly, some people just looked at me like "I don't know you, you're creepy. STOP." I think they forgot that they were at Disney, the place where random strangers can wave to each other happily and normally.

Me too! It really is. I mean, the Summer Nightastic and Holiday Wishes were both freaking awesome, but there was something very different and special about real Wishes. I can't wait to see it again!

Mail and a Question! *Clap-Clap*

Hey everyone!!! Okay, did anyone read the title of this update to the tune of Skunk in the Barnyard, P U??? Maybe?? No? Let's move on.

Today we got some...

DISNEY MAIL!!!!

SDC12714.jpg

That's the back of the envelope and seriously yall... HOW STINKING ADORABLE is that little boy??? Oh my goodness. I honestly teared up a little bit at the cuteness. Sigh.

(For the people I've talked to that are unfamiliar with how Magical Express works and are wondering when to expect your packets to come, today is our 37 day count! That might give you a little idea of when to expect yours.)

Yall, I am getting WAY TOO excited about this trip! I started squealing in the kitchen when I was opening the envelope. THIS IS WHAT DISNEY DOES TO ME.

You all most likely know how excited I am to be staying at Bay Lake Tower, but it didn't really hit me until I saw THIS:

SDC12713.jpg

That big MK means MAGIC KINGDOM AREA. My previous checked-luggage tags have had AK for Animal Kingdom area on them! I mean, I love me some Animal Kingdom but seeing the MK just made it SO much more real to me. Wow.

The fact that it also says 'Contemporary Bay Lake' helped a little bit too.

Also... how awesome are these new carry-on luggage tags?? (I'm sure a lot of you have already seen them but this was my first time!) UGH, so cool.

SDC12715.jpg

Okay, now for the question part. Have any of you ever flown AirTran? That's the airline we're flying this time, and so far I don't think we have any idea what our seats are. Are we supposed to? I honestly have no idea. The only airlines I've ever flown are American and JetBlue. Anything you could tell me would be greatly appreciated!

I also have another little favor to ask. My cousin Kristen is having lumpectomy surgery on Monday. If any of you are the praying kind, I would really appreciate some prayers for her. Thank you so much! :littleangel:

OH... and as far as the Guess that ADR game goes, I will 'reveal the results' on my NEXT PTR update. I swear. This update was unplanned hahaha. I know you're all on the edge of your seat and everything. ;)

As always, thank you so much for reading. Have a wonderful weekend!

Continued in Next PTR Update

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!!! (and I'm caught up!)

Just so you know, I ALWAYS wave at the village people (haha, see what I did there?) when I'm riding IASW. Even if they aren't waving..... HAHAHAHA

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but after reading your TR, I am *thinking* about trying Stitch. I am claustrophobic, do you think that I would have issues on this ride? I don't like shoulder harnesses where I can't get out.

I can't BELIEVE you said COP is ridiculous. I almost abandoned your report right there. True Story!

My 6 guesses

Crystal Palace
Liberty Tree Tavern

Chef Mickey's
Ohanas

LeCellier
Rose and Crown

Guess what?!? We might be going to WDW at Christmas this year! Your trip report is making me excited (that might be why I didn't ditch you after the great COP offense of 2012 *insert grandma wagging finger emoticon here*)

Yay for getting your Disney mail! I totally get what you mean about being excited when you see the resort on your luggage tag. That's sort of how I felt this last trip when it said Boardwalk Villas on it. :goodvibes:cloud9::love:

I'm not sure about Air Tran. I think a couple years ago my dad and I might've taken Air Tran one way and I thought they assigned seats. Southwest doesn't, they just do their strange boarding positions. But you didn't ask about SW...sorry, I'm no help at all.

Woo hoo, Mickey Mail!!! :dance3: I always get so excited when I get mine, it really means the trip is right around the corner!! :cool1: I love that your tags say MK, I really love staying in that area, it's so magical being so close to the castle!

I don't know anything about Air Tran, but I know Southwest owns them and with SW, you sit wherever you want, maybe it's the same thing?

Will say a prayer for your cousin, hope everything goes well! :goodvibes

YAY! MICKEY MAIL! There's nothing better. Well, except actually being at Disney!

My mom portion of the trip will be the first time I've ever used the Magical Express services, so I was so excited when we got our information! We didn't get those cute luggage tags for the carry on stuff, though! What gives?! :confused3

Unfortunately I have very little flying experience, so I'm no help at all. I'm sorry!

I will definitely say a prayer for Kristen! I hope all goes well!

YES. I'm ready to know these ADRs. More specifically, I'm ready for you to confirm that my guesses are absolutely correct and I win a prize.

You are sooo lucky !! I want to stay at Bay Lake soo bad. We are wait listed with DVC for Thanksgiving, but no confirmation yet. I would be super pumped to stay there. I know you are very excited. Expect it to be brutally hot, though. It you expect that, then you will fine. I know you will have a fabulous trip anyway. I totally can't wait to read about it !!

I love Mickey Mail! And I am absolutely in love with those luggage tags! We never get them at DVC. *sob*

I'll keep Kristen in my thoughts and prayers.

AirTran does not assign seats, because they charge you for them at time of booking. If you don't pay the seat fees (I believe they're $6 for non-premium seats), you're left to the mercy of when you do your 24 hour check in, which means you're able to pick from whatever is left.

I've flown them many times. I don't mind them as an airline at all, but I do always pay for my seat assignment when I book.

Mickey Mail!!! :woohoo:

Love those new luggage tags! Makes me really sad that we're driving this year & I won't get those. :sad1: Thought about having Ed drop me off at the airport & taking ME by myself to POFQ just to get a luggage tag. :rotfl2:

I will keep your cousin in my prayers. Hope that all goes well! :goodvibes

As for Airtran.....it has been years since I've flown them. Ed & I used to fly them a lot when we were dating (I was at LSU & he was at Georgia Tech). I can't remember how the seating works. I remember always being happy with their service though. So, that was completely unhelpful to you. Sorry!

Can't wait to find out who won the game & if anyone guessed every ADR correctly!

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!!!!! (and I'm caught up!)

Guess what?!? We might be going to WDW at Christmas this year! Your trip report is making me excited (that might be why I didn't ditch you after the great COP offense of 2012 *insert grandma wagging finger emoticon here*)

YAY!!!! I'm so excited!

I totally do. Haha! I do the SAME thing! That's too funny. Well, I'm glad to know that if I wave to you, you will wave back. Thank you oh so much. :thumbsup2

Hmm... well, that's a tough one, to be honest. If you sit up really high when they are lowering the shoulder harnesses, you might be okay. You're not completely surrounded by them, and basically you're just sitting in a seat. The only real reason for the harnesses in the first place is so you can feel Stitch bouncing on you. So really, I don't know! It might be worth a try!

Oh my gosh!!!! Hahaha I think you misunderstood! I love CoP! Like, seriously love it. I think it's ridiculous in a good way. It cracks me up! I was telling my mom about it and explaining how much of a genius Walt Disney was. I promise I don't think it's ridiculous in a bad way! Hahaha I'm so glad you didn't leave! I would have been sad.

Thank you for guessing!!!

AHHH really?! How exciting! If you did, do you know when in December it would be? Like FOR Christmas, or before? Because I may be going again, so it would be cool if we were there at the same time!

Yay for getting your Disney mail! I totally get what you mean about being excited when you see the resort on your luggage tag. That's sort of how I felt this last trip when it said Boardwalk Villas on it. :goodvibes:cloud9::love:

Yeah!! I'm glad you know what I mean! Ahh man, I bet it was awesome to see Boardwalk on the tags too! Disney is just all so exciting hahaha.

That's okay that you aren't sure. I mean, I know that AirTran is owned by Southwest, so they might have the same policy. It does help, so thank you!

:goodvibes

AWW YEAH. I know! Omg, the MK thing just did me in. I cannot wait.

Yeah, I think you're probably right! Thanks!

Thanks so much, Jen!!

YAY! Hahah how true.

OH YEAH! I didn't think about that. How exciting for you!!! Aww, but I get it... I only flew one way in December (TO Disney) and I didn't get the carryon tag either. Hmm... weird! I have a feeling we won't need all of ours... I wish there was a way I could give you one!

It's totally fine. :goodvibes

Thank you so much Joni!

HAHAHA I promise I'll let yall know soon! Hey, you already know at least one! ;)

Aww, thanks! Yeah, I feel extremely lucky and blessed. Cannot wait! I hope yall find out soon! I bet you'd absolutely love it! Oh yes, I'm expecting it. On my first trip we happened to be at Animal Kingdom on the first day of summer, aka longest day of the year. I'm ready for the heat. :cool2: Hahaha. Thanks! I'm glad! And btw, I will be jumping on your TR in a couple minutes! Didn't realize you'd started a new one!! :cool1:

I love Mickey Mail! And I am absolutely in love with those luggage tags! We never get them at DVC. *sob*

I'll keep Kristen in my thoughts and prayers.

AirTran does not assign seats, because they charge you for them at time of booking. If you don't pay the seat fees (I believe they're $6 for non-premium seats), you're left to the mercy of when you do your 24 hour check in, which means you're able to pick from whatever is left.

I've flown them many times. I don't mind them as an airline at all, but I do always pay for my seat assignment when I book.

Aren't they awesome? My mom and I freaked out a little bit about them. Aww. Boo! I wonder why!

Thanks so much Danielle! I appreciate it.

Oh okay... hmmm. I'm not really sure what we did because we booked it through Disney. I guess we're in the 24 hour check in boat. Good to know, thanks so much for the info!

I know!!!

Aww, boo! Hahahah that is too funny. I feel like that is the true definition of DISer right there. :lmao:

Thanks so much Amanda!

No, not unhelpful! Any info is helpful, really. I mean hey, good to know you liked the service! Hopefully it'll still be good! :goodvibes

Hahaha well, there MAY be a pretty big tie of sorts. :thumbsup2 I might get the people who tied to guess again and see what happens hahaha because right now I don't have a winner!
