"You Guys Are Cast Members... Right?" - A December 2011 TR

Yay EE!!!! :woohoo: Hahaha I love your conversation with your lucky friends!! I've never seen Nemo either! I'll have to do that next time! Ooooh! I love Dinosaur!!:goodvibes

All caught up! Sorry I haven't commented on this TR in awhile. Very little DIS time when school is involved UGGHHH :rolleyes1 I really enjoyed catching up though, love your little videos. It's always great to read about people who react to certain things in Disney the exact same way :teeth: And glad to hear you are going back! Bay Lake Tower :thumbsup2 heard a lot of good things about that place :) I hope you have a great time! Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Okay I'm late. I read this update like the night you posted it (since on the west coast it wasn't too late!) but then my week just turned into total crap so I'm finally commenting!

Oh and about my last comment and re-reading your TR, I meant to say I'd read your latest update and not re-read the whole TR, and I edited my comment to fix it.. but I think you saw my original post, which was really confusing. :rotfl:

Actually, this is probably a ridiculously confusing comment soooo I'm just going to start talking about your latest update. :lmao:

HAHA I would've had the same reaction you did to your friends meeting Dug and Russell. Seriously, though I might've just ran away back to Camp Minnie Mickey without saying anything in hopes of finding them and giving Dug a MASSIVE hug.

"I'm gonna ride that puppy!" Ohhh Stacey. I have to say I do not like the way she says "YETI!" though, hahaha.

A year is far too long to wait for Everest, and that's unfortunately what I have to deal with, too! WOMPWOMP.

I love those signs in the queue! It really is tea, so that is kind of amazing. ALSO love the other sign that's in the outside queue, which I totally took a photo of!

Okay, next time you go, you HAVE to make someone wait with you and go on the front! It seriously is the best way to ride EE (though Matt would disagree :rolleyes1), and it's absolutely terrifying in how close you get to the edge of the mountain with the broken tracks. I'm pretty sure they actually change how far forward you go though because on this trip I felt like we weren't as close as the first time I'd gone on it in the front during our honeymoon. Either way, it's scary but so much fun! Oh AND you can totally wait for the front 2 rows with a group of 4, so it's not too bad! The wait is always short.. :thumbsup2

I can't imagine someone singing Crush and um, not sounding like him, or his style, if that makes sense. :rotfl:

I'm nervous about the Dinosaur trip. I've never been on it aaaand have no interest because I've heard not-so-fun things about it. BUT I'm excited to hear about your experience on it!!

Haha "BRAND NEW INFORMATION!" I love Phoebe!

Hahaha YES! You are one of two people who knew what I was talking about! :thumbsup2

Yay, Yeti time! :cool1: I love that ride! I love the "please don't pick the tea" sign too! Ahhh, Disney details! :lovestruc

Yeah! I remember you had a picture of it in your Dec TR. December was the first time I noticed it so it was cool to see it again in your TR!

I have never seen the Nemo show! I finally just got around to seeing FOTLK in October, so it will probably be years before we see the Nemo show! :rotfl2:

Hahahah that's okay, I'm sure you'll see it someday!

ps-I started my May PTR, come on over! There's a link in my signature or in my October TR! :thumbsup2

Oh haha I already did! Thanks for letting me know!

Seriously love all the character pictures in AK! Especially the Minnie one with the 4 girls, So Cute!

Thank you! I like that one a lot too. :cutie:

I wanna ride the Monorail!! that was said with a very whiny voice BTW:lmao:

:rotfl: I am right there with ya!

We enjoyed EE, well Sam and I did, but I haven't done Dinosaur yet. I can't wait to see what you though!

YES! Gotta love Everest! Hahaha oh Dinosaur... interesting ride I must say...

Can I tell you how much I love love love UP! ?!?! Because it is a lot. Like, a lot a lot! I especially love Russel. So, I am totally jealous of your adventures in AK. I WILL make it over there to see them. I WILL!

Me too! It's one of the best Pixar movies in my opinion! I was jealous of them too, I REALLY want to meet them!

Oh, and the soundtrack to the Nemo Musical is FANTASTIC. That show just makes me smile, so of course I watch it when I can. It is a little long though, so it awesome you didn't have to wait! Thank you pixie dust!!! :)

Isn't it awesome? I love it. Yeah it is definitely on the longer side, but it was worth it! It was great not having to wait, that's for sure! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more! You guys are TOOO fun! :)

Hahah thank you! :goodvibes

I've never been crazy about the Finding Nemo show, but maybe we'll try it again someday, once the boys get a 45 minute attention span. You really have to try Everest in the front- it's well worth any extra waiting.

My sister didn't like it the first time she saw it, but when she saw it again she really enjoyed it! Maybe the fact that you have kids now will make you enjoy it more? But yeah... wait til they're ready for it! OH GOSH I know I am definitely going to do that this summer. I cannot wait.

Yay EE!!!! :woohoo: Hahaha I love your conversation with your lucky friends!! I've never seen Nemo either! I'll have to do that next time! Ooooh! I love Dinosaur!!:goodvibes

Hahah thanks! Oh yeah, definitely go see Nemo at least once! It's great! Hahaha oh Dinosaur...

:mickeyjum

Hey Timmy! Glad you're back! Don't worry about it, it's okay! I understand how busy life can get. Thanks! Glad you liked the videos. They're no great works of art of anything, because I didn't edit them AT ALL, but I thought they'd still be fun to add in here. And yes! I'm SO excited to be staying at Bay Lake Tower this summer. It's like a DREAM COME TRUE. :wizard: Anyways, thanks for catching up!

Okay I'm late. I read this update like the night you posted it (since on the west coast it wasn't too late!) but then my week just turned into total crap so I'm finally commenting!

It's okay! Hahha I bet it's confusing when I update at like midnight my time and you're like... why did she just put tomorrow's date up there? I'm sorry you're not having a good week. :(

Oh and about my last comment and re-reading your TR, I meant to say I'd read your latest update and not re-read the whole TR, and I edited my comment to fix it.. but I think you saw my original post, which was really confusing. :rotfl:

OH! Wait... what? Hahah okay looking back at the comment I didn't even realize you edited it, but I never read the original! I don't usually read comments until I'm replying to them! That's funny! I think I just read it too fast and missed the word 'update.' I tend to read too quickly sometimes. Oops.

Actually, this is probably a ridiculously confusing comment soooo I'm just going to start talking about your latest update. :lmao:

Don't worry I'm not confused, it's all good man. :cool2:

HAHA I would've had the same reaction you did to your friends meeting Dug and Russell. Seriously, though I might've just ran away back to Camp Minnie Mickey without saying anything in hopes of finding them and giving Dug a MASSIVE hug.

Hahah I know. BUT the thing is, they weren't in Camp Minnie-Mickey! They were in this RANDOM spot! Otherwise I think I would have noticed them!

"I'm gonna ride that puppy!" Ohhh Stacey. I have to say I do not like the way she says "YETI!" though, hahaha.

Hahhah, THAT STACEY, SHE'S A HOOT.

A year is far too long to wait for Everest, and that's unfortunately what I have to deal with, too! WOMPWOMP.

Yeah. :sad2: It's sad times. Although this time I only have to wait like 8 months in between. WOO! So are yall just gonna be January/anniversary travelers? You don't have to answer that, I know you said that your next trip wasn't quite official yet!

I love those signs in the queue! It really is tea, so that is kind of amazing. ALSO love the other sign that's in the outside queue, which I totally took a photo of!

I love them too! I can't believe I had never seen them before! Next time I'm definitely bringing my camera along. I usually do, but only didn't have it since Amanda wasn't riding! Sally had her camera, (which is how they took the 'scared' picture) but I didn't think to ask her to take one. Oh well!

Okay, next time you go, you HAVE to make someone wait with you and go on the front! It seriously is the best way to ride EE (though Matt would disagree :rolleyes1), and it's absolutely terrifying in how close you get to the edge of the mountain with the broken tracks. Omg next time I'm DEFINITELY doing that. I can't wait! This summer it'll probably just me my sister and me, (unless we convince my dad to ride) so it shouldn't be a problem and YAY THAT EXCITES ME.

I can't imagine someone singing Crush and um, not sounding like him, or his style, if that makes sense. :rotfl:

Yeah! It makes sense, although I'm not sure I worded it right in the update. In the soundtrack version the guy sounds exactly like Crush. This guy was awesome and had a great voice, but it wasn't surfer dude-y. (I have a little video clip of it so you may be able to see what I mean. :thumbsup2)

I'm nervous about the Dinosaur trip. I've never been on it aaaand have no interest because I've heard not-so-fun things about it. BUT I'm excited to hear about your experience on it!!

Hahah don't be nervous! It's only words. :rotfl:

Yeah, DW didn't do a good job at designing the whole one way in one way out thing with Camp Minnie Mickey.

Haha, that's exactly how that conversation went! I can hear Kristen now...

Ya know, I'm glad I can at least say I've done Everest and can check it off my list.

Go with the flooooo ooooooooooo oooooooooo ooooooow!!! I love, love, LOVE that song!!! I often will break into it anywhere at anytime. I've gotten Shannon and Melissa hooked too! The show was surprisingly not too bad :)

"Time travel commencing in T-minus 10 seconds and counting... This is Seeker, listen up: we've got to get in, grab the Iguanodon, and get out before that asteroid hits. Let's roll!"

Hahaha I can hear it too! She just wanted us to look at the picture! Hahaha.

Yeah... wimp. :flower3:

Hahaha I love it too. You're welcome. ;) I'm glad they love it. They're welcome too. (BTW, you successfully mentioned all of your sisters by name in your comment hahaha!) Okay, it was 'surprisingly not too bad?' Don't even lie, you LOVED it.

"THEY'RE NOT GONNA MAKE IT! THEY'RE NOT GONNA MAKE IT!"

I had NO idea you could meet russel and dug at ak... Let alone anywhere! I need to find them!

Ahh I can just picture being at Everest right now and my heart is aching. I lovee that ride so much!!!

I always get terrible seats for Nemo. I'm ALWAYS on the second level because we always waltz in a little too late. It's just annoying lol. I like the show but I have just seen it a few too many times. I mean, if we got good seats it might be a different story.... But eh. I need a Nemo break lol

I would love to be in it though :P just as like... Seaweed number 1 or something. That would be fine with me haha. I just want to perform in Disney in some way or another!!!

Dun dun dunnnnn.... Can't wait for the next update!

Enjoyed the video! :simba:

Well thank ya! :goodvibes

I know right? ME TOO.

Awww I know. It's rough going not being able to ride it! :sad1:

Hahahaha I HOPE YOU GET THE JOB AS SEAWEED NUMBER ONE. :lmao: I know what you mean! I think at this point I'd do anything there, I just want to be there.

Hahahaha DUN DUN DINOSAUR. It's coming up... soon(ish)!

The One In the Jingle Jangle Jungle

December 15, 2011

The first thing I said as we were walking into the Dinosaur building was,

“Amanda, we should try to keep our EYES OPEN this time.”

Hmmm… I wonder why I said that? It’s probably because this ride terrifies me to my very core. At least… I thought it did.

At the time, I had only ridden this once before. I was under the impression that I would die from fear, so the first time I rode it, I literally buried my head in my chest for the entirety of the ride. Here is proof:

156856_471620429038_643109038_5965955_2369617_n.jpg

Right…

To be fair (and to make myself look slightly less lame) I DID have my eyes open. They were just glued to my lap. No big deal.

Let me explain something about ME: I don’t like scary things. I can do the most extreme thrill rides, but when it comes to the scary, NON THRILLING stuff, I DO NOT LIKE IT. (That should explain my fear of the yeti, right?)

Yes, I do think animatronic dinosaurs are scary. However, this year I decided that I was just going to have to get over that fear. I mean, they’re animatronics. They will not ACTUALLY eat me. So I decided that I would keep my head OUT of my chest this time, actually look at the dinosaurs, and try to enjoy the ride.

Please picture yourself in that exact spot and proceed to freak out. Thanks. NO TURNIN’ BACK NOW!

I must say that I did pretty well on the ride! I was calm, cool, and collected, naturally. We’d see a styracasaurus, but it was NOT OUR DINO, so we moved along. The meteor showers came close, but thankfully they were just little ones. PHEW! I knew all of this was just a warm up for the big man on campus, the carnatourus. And Seeker just started YELLING at us! “ABORT MISSION,” he’d yell, “ABORT! ABORT!”

Meanwhile, I managed to stay very calm. Like, I’ve got this yall. The carnataurus was like right up in my face ROARING and what not, and I suddenly felt like Simba.

“Danger? HA! I walk on the wild side. I LAUGH in the face of danger. HAHAHAHA!”

And right on cue, in place of the hyenas laughing, this GIGANTIC dinosaur was all up in my face! Like, I was expecting the carnataurus to be there. You sit there, he roars, you ‘scream’ while posing for the ride photo, and then Seeker tells you that you made it. I was NOT expecting another random dinosaur in my face in between! Yeah, I screamed.

Even so, I LOVED THAT RIDE. And guess what? Amanda kept her eyes open (most of the ride) too! We’re such brave souls, yall.

OH MY GOSH, I wish my camera didn’t hate me and it let me take bootleg ride photos! Because I have to say, our photo was genius. I don’t even know. It was the funniest thing ever.

We decided to continue our day at Animal Kingdom with a viewing of...

THE JINGLE JUNGLE PARADE! Yay! I was so excited to see this. The Jammin' Jungle Parade was the first parade I ever saw at Disney, and I love it. BRING ON THE HOLIDAY VERSION.

In 2010 before we went down to Disney, Amanda and I watched the Samantha Brown Disney Holiday Special on you tube (because we're really cool). In the special, she happened to watch the Jingle Jungle Parade. We really wanted to see it that year, but we just couldn't fit it in because our trip was so short. So this year we were DEFINITELY going to see it! :woohoo:

On our way to get a spot for the parade, we passed this little random area and Kristen said, "That's where we met Russell and Dug!" And sure enough, there was a crowd of people waiting to meet them, but Russell and Dug were on a break! WAHHH. I was fully prepared to jump in line, but I didn't want to miss the parade.

We got a really good spot right near the Tree of Life. Please look at this detail.

Turtle butt!

Amanda and Kristen decided they were hungry, so they went to a nearby snack cart and got some popcorn! popcorn:: Sally decided she wanted some too, and I wanted something to drink besides Dasani water (I am always thirsty) so we went over, and she got some popcorn and I got a fountain coke! Yum. OH, but this is Animal Kingdom. THE PAPER STRAWS.

SDC12277.jpg

Yuck! I can't believe I forgot about the paper straws! Those things are sick. They get so soggy and nasty. BUT I love them because they're safe for the animals, which is amazing. I love them but I hate them, hahaha.

It's almost time for the parade!

397140_10150479601674432_616429431_8703243_1513825111_n.jpg

While we were waiting, the guy working It's Tough to be a Bug was trying to get people to come to it. He kept shouting "IT'S THE BEST 3D SHOW IN THE PARK! Actually, it's the ONLY 3D SHOW IN THE PARK!" Too funny!

Finally, the parade started! Time for an OVERLOAD of semi decent parade pictures!

I don't know why that's sideways... ??

Something we learned on the Samantha Brown Disney Holiday special was that Minnie's float in the parade smelled like hot chocolate! It wasn't very strong, but I did smell it a little bit!

Please notice that Donald is on both the Naughty and the Nice lists. Perfect.

Donald left a trail of bubbles. He's just so naughty (yet so nice)!

Turn around, Mickey!

SDC12296.jpg

SO YEAH! The parade was so cute! I'm glad we got to see it. I mean, it was pretty much exactly like the JAMMIN' Jungle Parade, only the characters were wearing festive costumes, and the floats and animals had Christmas decorations on them. The music was all different though! The only similarity was the first/last song. Instead of "We're jammin' in the jungle to the rhythm of one," it was, "It's a Jingle Jangle Jungle full of HOLIDAY FUN!" Beautiful lyrics, I must say.

After the parade, we had to do one more (very important) thing at Animal Kingdom...

Continued in Next Update

AH YES UPDATE! And I actually am free to sit and read it! I feel like this past week has been ridonkulous and my DIS time has been super just... not as much as normal! ANYWAY! I love the Dinosaur story. I still haven't gone on it and don't really have any interest. I cannot take things jumping out at me at ALL. Like, the yeti on EE? I am SO fine with him not working properly/swinging at me and grabbing at me. Even though he doesn't move, I still scream every. single. time. So yes, no Dinosaur for me, BUT I am glad you enjoyed it!!

TURTLE BUTT! I love it. Turtles are my absolute FAVORITE animal ever ever ever.

OH those paper straws! We used them, too at AK and while they are snazzy that they do that, they're also very weird to me. I should be used to them since we have them at the local zoo, buuut yeah.

The parade looks like a ton of fun! I've never seen the parade at AK before! We're usually out of the park before that time. :confused3 But how perfect that Donald is on both! Hahaha, he's so cute.

Caaaannot wait to see what you guys are up to next! I don't really have a guess. I know, I'm lame.

I love logging on and seeing new updates! :thumbsup2

Ahhh DINOSAUR! I don't blame you for being nervous. No matter how many times I go on that ride, I still find myself a little scared.

"Let me explain something about ME: I don’t like scary things. I can do the most extreme thrill rides, but when it comes to the scary, NON THRILLING stuff, I DO NOT LIKE IT."

~ Umm, this is SO me! Like haunted houses?! Forget it. I can't do those.

Yaaaayy! The Jingle Jungle Parade! :) The music is too cute!

Loved your update! I have to admit that I hate scary stuff, too. And Dinosaur is scary. In fact, the last time I got on that ride was back in 2004. And the only reason why I did it is because my mom agreed to ride it. My mother doesn't do rides. I was amazed we got her to ride It's a Small World, let alone Dinosaur. Oh, her reaction to that ride was priceless!

I HATE the paper straws at AK!!! I know they're safe for the animals but I still hate them immensely. I mean couldn't they just let us have regular straws & get some "Straw Stalker" CM's on the lookout for stray straws? :confused3

Your parade pics are really cute!

Hahaha YAY! Ugh, I understand. I was all behind on the Dis early last week and it just felt... wrong. I hope yall had a nice weekend retreat!

Oh gosh I know. It took a lot for me to actually want to ride it. And I TOTALLY agree about the yeti. Let it be broken. It's all good. Hahaha but for Dinosaur I kinda felt like it was a Disney sin that I hadn't ridden it, and I'm glad I did! And I really did enjoy it!

TURTLE BUTT! I love it. Turtles are my absolute FAVORITE animal ever ever ever.

Really?! Hahaha that's awesome! Well I'm glad I could give you a glimpse at your favorite animal's behind.

OH those paper straws! We used them, too at AK and while they are snazzy that they do that, they're also very weird to me. I should be used to them since we have them at the local zoo, buuut yeah.

Yeah, I really don't like them, like using them, but I do think it's really great that they do that for the animals. The first time I ever used one (at Yak and Yeti) I thought it was so cool at first. I even took a picture of the wrapper. But then it started getting soggy. So I flipped it upside down. Then that end got soggy. So I got a new straw. AND REPEAT. :rotfl:

The parade looks like a ton of fun! I've never seen the parade at AK before! We're usually out of the park before that time. :confused3 But how perfect that Donald is on both! Hahaha, he's so cute.

Oh you should watch it sometime! Or at least look it up on you tube, or something, hahaha. It's so cute. I love the music. Hahaha I know right? I thought that was hilarious. It's like... Donald? Ehhh we'll just stick him on both to be safe!

Caaaannot wait to see what you guys are up to next! I don't really have a guess. I know, I'm lame.

Haha it's okay, no guesses required! (THIS TIME. Hahahahah.)

love the lion king reference! I love that quote.

Thanks! Hahah I love it too, I thought it was fitting because that's exactly how I felt at that moment.

I love logging on and seeing new updates! :thumbsup2

Aww! I'm glad!

Ahhh DINOSAUR! I don't blame you for being nervous. No matter how many times I go on that ride, I still find myself a little scared.

Oh my gosh, me too. I just can't help but be nervous!

Omg, hahahah! That's so funny! I'm glad you can relate! Yeah, haunted houses are a BIG no no. And scary movies. And anything scary.

Yaaaayy! The Jingle Jungle Parade! :) The music is too cute!

Oh I know! It's adorable. :cutie:

Ahh I almost missed your comment! :scared1:

Aw thank you! Hahaha yes, Dinosaur is definitely scary! I was playing it cool because I knew what to expect pretty much the whole time... but then the true colors came out at the end! Oh my gosh that's hilarious! I can't even imagine her reaction! :rotfl:

Hahaha! Well that's a good point! You should write that in a suggestion box or something, seriously! But yeah, oh gosh, those things are nasty once they get all soggy!

Thanks! :goodvibes

I love Dinosaur, except for the minor inconvenience of feeling like my spine has been dislocated, of course! :lmao: My ride photos are the worst, too, so at least you're not alone. ;)

Yay for the parade, too...magical Disney popcorn just makes it even better! popcorn::

Hahaha, oh THAT? No biggie! :rotfl: Seriously though, that ride just whips you around like nothing else!

Ahhh I know, I'm sure that they enjoyed the popcorn. Would you believe it if I said I've (STILL) never had any Disney popcorn? I know, I know. Ridiculous. But it's on my list! :thumbsup2 Thanks for commenting!
