I know I have heard the saying that you don't understand the value of a second (or less) until you have a car accident but that is SO true.
This morning on my way to work I was just driving along and singing to the radio when this HUGE (and I do mean HUGE) owl came swooping down and hit the side of my car and demolished my driver's side mirror!
It was terrifying! After I pulled off the road to get my breath I realized that just the tiniest fraction of a second earlier and it would have come through the front window and just the tinest fraction of a second later and it would have come through the drivers side window! I can only imagine the damage that owl could have done to both me and my car.
I am still so shaken up! I am about burst into tears because I realize how lucky I was to just have a broken side mirror. My thoughts immediately turned to my DS who I had just left at home with DH because he is sick....It is so scary to think that I could have really been hurt.
I really feel that God must have been watching out for me this morning. I guess I really needed a wake-up call and this was His way of telling me to start appreciating what I have because you never know when it could be taken away.
