You can now buy AP's at Resorts?

I have been told conflicting things by several CM"S in the last week or so....

I have called the main number, the AP hotline, and the resort itself (at least it said it was AKL), and was told by two of the three, yes I can buy an AP at the resort upon check in, but have to validate it at the park....


Has anyone done this?


We are flying in at 6pm, and if we can bypass having to stop to buy an AP in order to check in (with an AP discount), than that would be great.

I am hesitant because I have heard that you need the AP to check in, and if they don't sell them, then we have to leave and go buy one. (and I am sure it would be past 8pm by then)

I was mislead by a CR CM that I could activate my voucher at the YC. I called back and was told by someone else taht this was not true. Upon arrival I was told that I had to go to the park or DD to activate. We walked over to the back gate at EPCOT and activated it that night. What they might have at the resort would probably be a voucher. BTW, if you fly into MCO, (Orlando Int'l ) there is a place in the terminal where you can purchase activated AP's. MAybe someone else can tell you exactly where. If you already have a voucher there probably won't be any trouble just showing it to the front desk. That is what I did, then one CM asked me to go get it activated that night and bring it back and so I did. The girl I saw upon bringing it back by there was like, oh, that wasn't necessary, we trust you.

Be careful - our last trip the CRO told us our FL resident 1-day hopper would be waiting for us at the hotel. I paid by credit card over the phone and was given a confirmation number - the CRO never told me how important the number was!

During check-in at the OKW I asked about the tickets expecting an envelope. The CM asked for the ticket confirmation number - I had it (thank goodness). After much verification (about 15 minutes) by the OKW front desk CM at check-in I was told the hotels are only able to handle the Magic Your Way that is added on to the room key.

It was doubly frustrating for us. The next day we had to wait again at Guest Services, while the CM (with help from another CM) figured out how to pull up the pre-paid tickets using the confirmation number. It would have been much quicker for me to wait and just buy the tickets at guest services.
