Once again my family is poised to leave 48 hours from now from Upstate NY to make another trek to that hallowed place known as Central Florida! Once again family and friends are saying, "You're going where"?...Again?...for how long???

The story behind this phenomon is that it will be my 41st visit to WDW (my first visit was with my grandparents via a day long bus trip from Miami back in 1972) and our family has been infected with "DISNEY MAGIC" ever since. It is an infection that has been uncurable through 3 (going on 4) generations with no signs of remission.

The real difference to this trip verses all of the other visits to the "Happiest place on the Planet" is that we are traveling over 1300 miles to only visit for one day (make that about 9 hours)! We are doing this as part of our overall vacation adventure. We are flying into Orlando and from the airport driving to WDW to visit a few of the updated attractions such as POC and others. Once we make a wirl-wind tour of all four parks (as well as take in a meal at World Showcase/EPCOT) stay just long enough to see Wishes and dash out of the Magic Kingdom to drive to Vero Beach and stay overnight at DVC's Vero Beach Resort. The following morning we will depart for Miami and our 7 day Caribbean cruise.

We are really celebrating our 25th anniversary and as part of our personal celebration we wanted just to visit where the beginning of our union took place...you guessed it...our honeymoon was at WDW! Why wouldn't we visit where it all started, even if it is just for a day.

So I ask...are we really crazy? Have we lost all our marbles? Are we a few fries short of a Happy Meal??? Or, are there others that feel the same way about this place called Walt Disney World and would do as we are if you were in the same circumstances?

Well, call us crazy too, if you will, but we would do the same thing. I don't think we could be in any part of Florida and not at least make a side trip to the World. It just wouldn't be right.

:thumbsup2 My DH and I am driving 3 hours to see Little Richard on Oct. 17, and staying at POP for one night, coming home the next day. :teeth: I once flew into Orlando for one night and was back home the Next day to go to work. ;)

Ha! I'd do the same thing! We recently drove to Washington DC from NYfor a weekend and all I kept thinking about was we were only 13 more hours drive away from DW! It's a sickness :lmao:
Do it and have FUN!!

WOW- you will need a 7 day cruise to recover from your day at WDW!
Ok- you're crazy- but I like it :thumbsup2

Hey there, we just returned on Sunday. Only 2 days back, we have already booked for next summer at WDW. Called us crazy or what. Never once we felt overloaded with WDW.

More crazy's here! DBF and I are going for the 4th time together this December and I think it's hilaroious how people try to talk us out of it by bringing up "the ticket prices are being raised again!", "airfare is outrageous because of gas prices!" & "Aren't yiou worried about terrorists?"

My answers are: "I get what I pay for (& more!), "If I book early enough then I lock in low airfare prices," and "no."

Why are so many people so worried about what other people are doing with their vacation time & money? :rotfl:

I second TenThousandVolt's comment! Only a true DISaholic does WDW in a day and follows it up with a DCL chaser. :rotfl: An action I hope to someday imitate! :thumbsup2

Oh, and I also love that Pirate Dog photo I just saw a couple of posts back. That is the best!

Thanks! she's 2 years old and sat for about 2 seconds so I could snap that picture!

We are such Disney nuts that we are embarassed to tell people what we are doing with our Disney vacations anymore! (Didn't you just do that? Isn't it too expensive? Don't you want to go somewhere else? Don't you want to SAVE your money?........) Good grief! :sad2:

You're not crazy, you're just flat out INSANE!

But do you have an extra seat in the car??? :teeth:

Hi Kick Save. Love your avator. Hockey Rocks. So does Football, and so on so forth. As a Disney fanatic  The only time we would never do Disney is when sports seasons begin. Maybe we are a bit confused too.

Some people just do not understand. I have not heard anyone saying that yet, although my MIL is coming with us in December to the World, and she is no where as excited as I am. :rotfl: DH said not everyone is like us. :rotfl2:

You are not crazy, but maybe crazy in love with one another. Have a wonderful anniversary. My DH and I had our honeymoon in WDW soon to be 12 years ago. We have since been back 11 times (including our trip on Monday). We have taken our DS's each on their 1st birthday's and every year since. We have had so many memories and I count our blessings everyday. :goodvibes

My husband and I have been there about a dozen times, just the two of us and we always have a great time. We don’t go every year but apparently we’ve gone enough times so that people at work last year & this year asked if we were “going to Disney World again”, like we never go anywhere else. It’s a little annoying, they make me feel like I’m totally predictable & boring. I don’t know why it bothers me but if I ever get the chance to go again, I’m not going to feel that way. I’m just going to take my new digital camera and take lots of photos.

As much as I love Disney, I do want to go other places, like we did last year –hey Pacific Northwesters you have some beautiful scenery up there. And I wanted to save to go to Egypt next year (a lifelong dream) but that doesn’t look promising now. This year, because my husband has several health problems, we aren’t going on any vacation but I’m back to dreaming of Disney, reading the boards, looking at the Picture of the Day thread, (I’m only on page 177, have a long way to go to catch up).

To everyone going, whether for 9 hours or 2 weeks, for whatever reason, it’s your vacation, have a fantastic time no matter what anyone says. :goodvibes

Guess you can add me to the crazy list-average 4 times a year (plus a cruise last year & the coming year), for the last 6-7 years? Lost count. Probably a total of 50+ times since 1971.
My mother in law still calls me every time and says-didnt you just go to Disney?
Now, I happily just reply-YUP! and consider myself really lucky :)

We, too, are going again in October - it will be our fourth week long trip in 1 1/2 yrs. People do think we're crazy but we don't care. We are DVC members and annual passholders so this trip for us is "free" except for food. We have the DVC to stay, have our passes (they expire in December), two free airline tickets and Disney provides transportation to and from. I think people are just jealous! Not many people can go to WDW and stay at a deluxe resort for a week for under $1,000. It will also be our anniversary!
