York, Maine - Nubble Light - whats decorated for Christmas?

DS15 & I have been invited to an overnight at DSs Godmother (friend of mine). Her 2nd home is in York, Maine. Ive been up there before but this will be DSs first time. We're planning on a movie in Portsmouth, dinner and seeing the Nubble Light. Is there anything else in that area thats a not miss as far as Christmas decorations/lights? Wheres a good place in the area for dinner?

portsmouth has wonderful restaurants, if you are looking for there. what kind of food?

not sure what all is open in york, but ogunquit and kennebunkport aren't too far away, either. kennebunkport has a great christmas festival, not sure when it is.

Not sure which weekend you were planning on, but there are lots of Holiday happenings in Portsmouth. here's a link about the Candlelight Stroll. Its a past of their "vintage christmas" series...

I'm not sure what if much of anything would be going on in York....everything there is pretty seasonal in terms of summer tourism.

I'm going up there this afternoon, I'll repost if I see any interesting Holiday happenings...

oh yeah, tons of good restaurants. My personal favorite is the Oar House, but only if you like seafood.

The Gaslight and Portsmouth Brewery have a fun "atmosphere" and are ok "family friendly" wise earlier in the evenings...

Eat at the Friendly Toast on Market St in down town Portsmouth. Its a great place for kids and adults too. It is decorated very eclectic and I know you will have a great time there. Wait staff are all young and hip.

Prescott Park is just a walk away from down town and watching the boats come in and out of the river is always fun. There is a long pier you can walk out on. Dress warm its always colder down by the water.
