YoHo, YoHo, A Mother's Day Trip to the Mouse!

I am so furious. I went to print the boarding passes and it said boarding pass not available for Anthony(I just went to insert a smilie and there isn't even one to express how mad I am right now)
I printed the ones for the rest of us and then called Southwest. They told me that they randomly "tag" reservations for security purposes. They want you to check in at the airport! Well Ok then, security on Anthony! Yea, wow, that's keeping things safe. They should do random checks when they see suspicous things not on random kids that are part of a family of 6. The lady I spoke with was so cold and unfriendly. She knows how upset I was she was not even trying to say she understands why I would be upset. She actually said well, the rest of your family can board and hold him a spot WHAT, I JUST TOLD YOU HE WAS 12!!!!!!!!!!!I'M NOT LEAVING HIM ALONE IN THE AIRPORT AND HOPE HE GETS ON WHEN HIS NUMBER IS CALLED I wanted to jump through the phone and strangle this lady!!!!!!!!!!! I asked if one of the adults could switch boarding passes with him and she said in the snootiest voice"I don't know ma'am, that's something you'll have to ask when you get there"
So we have boarding passes A 41-45 AND PROBABLY WILL BE BOARDING LAST!!! I WANT TO TYPE OUT SWEAR WORDS RIGHT NOW THAT'S HOW MAD I AM, BUT I DON'T WANT TO GET KICKED OFF THESE BOARDS

Has this ever happened to anyone before! If so, were you able to get that person in your boarding group anyway. Because I will make a stink, let me tell ya!!!!!

OMG that totally sucks dude!!! I'd be furious!! I'd defindely try to switch with your dh or something, and save HIM a seat!! Why do some people have to be so darn rude!! UG.

On another note, I see you have one day left... That's gotta be exciting....in the words of wise yoda..."remember your training" as in us here on the boards, what we've told you, etc. And, if you can pop in for a live update, please do!! Also, I can get texts on my phone, so if that's easier then calling, that's fine too, I'm a texter only other advice, have FUN!!!! And, I'll see ya in a week from tomorrow!!!!!

Ok, I'm calm!!! I asked this question on the Transportation board, and so far this hasn't happened to anyone that replied back to me. But they did make me feel a little better. They said just be sweet and explain to them what happened and i'm sure they'll let him get on with you guys. If not, we're just going to have me board with the girls. And 2 of us will take up 1 row and the other 2 will take up the next row leaving just the middle seat open and of course people will pass by, and if they do try to sit before Manny and Anthony get on, we just tell them it is already taken!

So it will be a little more of a pain in the you know what, but we'll be getting on in boarding group A!!!

So i'm up for the day, my alarm actually just went off now. I am tired, I feel like I slept for 2 hours
My Dad is meeting me here at 9:30 and he's gonna hang out with me today as I go and get everything done. I gotta go cash in the kids coins, I gotta go to the bank, I gotta run up to Target and switch Emily's bathing suit.....again!!! And I also have to find Misting Fans. I've checked our Walmart, Target and Job Lot, and a dollar store, cannot find any? Help Me, where do I find them!!! I'm so afraid of the heat, I need them!
Oh, I also need 3 more lanyards....Talk about waiting until the last minute

Oh boy, I cannot wait to take a nice, relaxing hot bath tonight before I go to bed.

And the rest of the stuff I have to do, as if my list above was not enough, needs to be done around the house, so i'll at least be home. The girls need showers and i'm trimming everyone's hair...just a trim!!!

Tonight when we're done with all of the chaos, I will give them the Autograph books that I made for them and the pins and lanyards. So much FUN

Ok, off to get ready for the madness of the Day before Disney. I was waiting for this day, it was gonna be fun. but the southwest check in thing kind of put a damper on my day....
I'm sure i'll be ok as the day goes on!!!!!!!! I'll check back in after I'm done in the stores, actually i'll check back in before I go to see if anyone has suggestions as to where I go for these misting fans.

Don't let the SW debachle get you down. You are GOING TO DISNEY! And don't worry, you will all get there - together - as a family. Your plan sounds perfect. And If I remember correctly, if a family is split between boarding groups, you CAN board together with the earliest group. Talk to the crew at the gate and please don't let this ruin the fun of your 'day before disney'.

Heat is not TOO bad - I mean its HOT this week (high in upper 80s - low 90s) but its not too humid, yet.

Try Walgreens or CVS for mister fans. That is where we carry them down here. Worse case, set aside $10/kid and buy them at the parks, they have them everywhere. At Walmart - did you check the camping area?

Enjoy your day! I'm totally jealous, I wish my trip were tomorrow!

I'm glad you've calmed down! I know it's frustrating, but this is what they told us at SW when I FORGOT to check us in at all for our return flight. The man at the counter said that you can check in online and EVEN IF YOU DO NOT PRINT OUT BOARDING PASSES, you are checked in and have a boarding group. SO did you check Anthony in and just not print a boarding pass?? If so, you should be absolutely fine. You have to check your luggage when you get to the airport anyway and so you have to go their check-in kiosk. You will go through the whole process and it will ask if you have printed boarding passes...if not, it will give you the option to do that there. BUT your group is already assigned when you check in online. Does any of that make sense??

I hope it all works out for you...I'm sure it will...and have a great trip! Oh...and you shouldn't need birth certificates for the kids, we've never been asked for them...but I always carry a COPY of them anyway. You do need your Driver's License though.

OH..I found my misting fans in Wal-Mart in the Hardware section. Good luck!

Have a good trip. I live in the Cayman Islands but I found my misting fans at our local supermarket in the pharmacy area were all the travel stuff was....there were also some were all the inflateable pools floats and things like that are....good luck finding them. I am SURE you will

you can get the misters at the parks, they have them filled and they are battery powered, they're nice. They fill them with ice too They are $18. Just so you're prepared. Walgreens down here does have one, but if you don't have a car, that's not gonna help you much!! Enjoy your fun day!!!

I found my fans at Walmart and they are by the regular fans for some reason which is too weird. The Rite Aid, Walgreens, and CVS here have them also. They are only like $4.

Oh man all that with SW really sucks!!! I'm sorry that happened. I am so glad we don't have to fly. I can't believe they expected you to leave a 12 yo alone and board the plane while they put him through security. I am 46 and I would be terrified to have to go through that. I bought two of the misting fans at Walmart yesterday in the gardening section. I paid $6 each for them and they are battery operated so I bought a big pack of batteries..........lol. They had some for $8 but I didn't see the difference really. I'm glad you found some too.

Ok, I drove around like a mad woman today, and dragged my Dad along with me!! We're finally done, and i'm exhausted!!! My poor father is too. He's gonna need a vacation now!!

I just got Lizzie and Sam out of the bath and trimmed their hair/bangs, they look so cute. Emily is going in the shower next and she wants her hair trimmed too! Anthony got his haircut, and I cannot wait to go soak in a nice hot bath after the kiddos are laying down.

I called and double checked with the Limo and asked if they could pick us up a little earlier, he said that was not a problem! The kids still do not know about the Limo, i'm so excited!!!!!!!!!
They are off the wall right now as you can imagine. Lizzie got off the bus like a mad woman!!! She had a mickey head in her hand that I put in her lunch box, that said "we're going to Disney World tomorrow" So she must have had that in her hand since lunch. That was so sweet!!!!!!!
This trip is going to be the most magical for Lizzie I think, it's just the way she is!!! I want to cry right now!!! Happy tears though, not mad ones like this morning!!!

Well i'm sure i'll check in again before we go to bed!! I gotta get Emily in the shower and cook dinner! And of course go through my list and make sure everything is packed and in order

Thank you for all of the well wishes!!!!!!!!! The kids are actually laying down. Anthony is watching TV, he'll lay down in a little bit! But the girls are in bed, and quiet. They may just fall asleep at a decent hour. I just finished reading them a story and they are calm They can now have sweet Disney dreams of rollercoasters and plunging elevators, mermaids and princesses, Haunted Mansions and grim grinning ghosts, Mickey shaped ice cream bars and itzakadoozies, and then BAM............That will all come to a screeching halt at 3:00am

OH I CAN'T WAIT TO GO INTO THEIR BEDROOMS AT 3:00AM AND WAKE THEM UP WITH THE HAPPIEST........LETS GO, WE'RE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!

I still need to double check the carryons. The checked luggage I know is all set!

Does anyone know if I can bring their lanyards and pins in their carryons or do the pins pose a threat? I figured they might!

I gave them their pins and lanyards and Autograph books, they were so excited with them!!! They are ecstatic. Lizzie wanted to go put them in a special place in her room. Aww, really sweet, but NO, they need to be packed right now!!!!!!!!

As for the Limo, when I see it pull down our street, i'm going to tell the kids to go on the porch and see if it's raining!!! They're probably going to start screaming and wake up all of the neighbors Oh, the neighbors will live, they have a whole 8 days without us

Ok, well i'm going to go take my bath now, and promise to be back before I go to sleep

I love all of my disfriends and cannot wait to meet up with the ones that will be there with us!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe you can take the pins and lanyards in your carryons. We did on our return trip in 2007 and it was fine!
