I have to agree with your decision. As a nurse we work 12 hour shifts, I worked nights for one year, when Amanda and Tyler were little, and it almost did me in mentally and physically. I was depressed all the time and sick. My doctor told me if I didn't get off night shift I would be in the hospital.
The way my nurse manager worked me was the problem. At the time we were working 3 12s one week and 4 the next. She had me scheduled Sun, Mon, Tue, Wed one week and Sun, Mon, Tue the next. I would take my kids to my mom on Sunday and then I wouldn't see them again until Thursday. My DH job is such that they could not stay at our house because he leaves for work at 5:30 and I didn't get home until after 7:30am. So, to shorten this LONG boring story I got off that shift and that was about 13 years ago and I don't want to do nights again.
On a better note we are in the 70's on our countdown
