YOAMD Postcards and Winners

I won a lanyard back in January, but nothing since then.

We were at Disney for 10 days, April 20 - 30 and got nothing!

When we got back home there was a package for DS - he got the ears! :goodvibes He's 21, but he was still thrilled!

Congrats All. My daughter one another pair of ears. I was happy for her, although she has won before so has my husband, but my son and I haven't one, (think it's funny she has one more then any of us). I have been sending postcards everyday since the start of the contest, (couldn't tell you how many that would be, I just go to the post office and buy them in bulk, they must think I am crazy). But we are happy to date we have or should I say my daughter has one 4 pairs of ears and my hubby has won the laynard and ears. It's cool because we have ears that say both Disney World and Disney Land, and the laynard said Disney Land. Good luck to everyone!! ( Maybe there waiting for me or my son to win the cruise or the DVC time share), I can only hope. Hope everyone get's some pixie dust sent there way.

I was just wondering how long it took after you mailed in your post cards before you won? I've been mailing them in for a few weeks. I send 2 a day. One for me and one for DBF. I know that 2 weeks is too soon but how long caan I expect to wait? Also I think I read somewhere that they only draw names on the 20th of each month??? Anyone know anything about:confused3 this?

It took me about 3 months after I sent the first one until I won my ears.

Thanks! So I guess in mid July I'll really start looking for that notice from the Dream Team to arrive!

Hi,

I sent about 30 postcards in and won ears last week.

I am saving them to put in the box w/the free disney map to give to my boys two weeks before we go. That is how I will tell them we are going.

I am hoping to win some ears before I go in Nov/Dec. My mom has already bought us lanyards off eBay. But I would really like to win something.

I put my DH in charge of this and he did them on 3 x5 index cards and put them in envelopes...is that going to be a problem- since technically that isnt a "postcard"?:confused3

I remember someone writing about winning with an index card inside an envelope, so you should be fine. I wouldn't do it that way, but apparently it's fine!

The mailman delivered ears today - one each for me, DH and DS7! He must have thought I was a nutcase because I started squealing when I saw who the boxes were from. I sent in maybe 30 postcards between January and mid-March; I quit sending any more in because we're moving soon and I had pretty much given up hope that we would get anything so I was really surprised today! :cool1:

Okay now I am ready to scream:scared1: . I have spent hours filling out the post cards for everyone in my family. DS always giving me grief for filling them out saying I will never win. First, DS wins a lanyard and he becomes a believer. Then DD and DH win the hat. Then DS wins 2 hats one from WDW and one from DL. Me still nothing and what does DS say see mom I told you that you wouldn't win. :goodvibes

That's what I do, and I've won three lanyards and eight ears so far. Let's hear it for that DVC membership! Woot!

Are you just mailing 1 card in the envelope or multiple cards in one envelope? Thinking about sending in one entry/card per family member in one envelope. Is there an age limit to enter?

(I've got my cards ready to go, was going to post office today but it would be a lot cheaper to mail a few in one envelope than to mail each card individually.)

One card/envelope one person per card. No age limit. I think the links to the rules are stickied here somewhere.

Thks! I read the rules but after reading these posts, it seemed like people were bending them and still winning. Some using envelopes, some mailing in multiple entries on one day, etc. I thought it might be worth the risk...

Yes, some are bending them. Some are breaking them. Hey, we're human.

I break the rule about sending in a post card because I don't want my family member's names, addresses and birthdates out there for all the world to see. My neurosis, and if I don't win a big prize from it because of it, well I'll have to live with that.

I continue to only send one set of five (one for each of us) each day, and don't send on Sunday. My logic is that if they draw a big winner on a Monday and I have two sets (one sent Saturday and one sent Sunday) in the hopper, they may disqualify one of my entries. Again, my neurosis.

Having said all that, I seriously doubt that those of us who send in post cards will win anything other than ears and lanyards. It seems that all I've seen and heard about the larger prizes, they are only being given out at the parks. I have not seen anything here, or elsewhere, about someone sending in post cards and getting anything big.

I had 18 oddball postcards that I found around the house, bought postage for them, and threw them all in the mail yesterday. I got tired of sending them one-at-a-time and decided this would be my last-ditch effort to win a second lanyard so both my kids would have one.

I've already invested over $60 in postage and it's just not worth it to me anymore (especially since I don't even want the ears and it doesn't look like the mail-in entries are winning any of the big prizes).

At this point I'll just save the money I would have spent on more postcards/postage and spend it during our August trip to WDW instead...and who knows, maybe I'll even luck out and win something while I'm there!

Good luck to the rest of you -- there's still seven months to enter!!!

The only big prize I have heard of anyone winning on this site was the Cinderella's castle stay. I think they were awarded a gift card/basket in the amount the suite would cost. Or I could have just read that on the rules.

Well, let me make you feel a little better....
I've sent in about 100 postcards and we have won nothing. Not a thing.
I'd say you are doing pretty well! :thumbsup2
