YOAMD Postcards and Winners

We finally won too!! We sent in about 130+ postcards and then finally gave up. I didn't think we'd win anything, but Tuesday and today we got a landyard and pins set in the mail! I was so excited! For those of you who have been sending in postcards without winning anything yet, don't give up hope! We didn't get anything for 3 months and all of a sudden we won twice in 2 days! Good things come to those who wait, I guess it's true

I searched for awhile and I can't find anyone who has won anything besides mouse ears or lanyards with the pins for the mail in contest. I know when we were in the parks we got the dream fast passes. I was very exciting as well!

The official rules say that

Although both attendees and mail-in entrants are eligible to be selected as winners, certain prizes are Disney Property-specific (for example, DREAM FASTPASS badges, events and overnight stays) and may require same day use, and therefore, are only available to participants present at the California Disney Properties or the Florida Disney Properties (or certain parks or locations within each), as applicable. Mail-in entrants selected to receive a Disney Property-specific prize will be awarded an alternate prize. See Section 3(c) below for additional information.

c. If, on any given day, the mail-in entry pool is randomly selected: the winner(s) of the applicable prize(s) will be determined at random from among all eligible mail-in entries received on the applicable day. ... If a prize requiring winner to be present at a Disney Property is designated for award (such as a DREAM FASTPASS badge or the one-night stay at the Cinderella Castle Suite), a winner entering via mail will receive an alternate prize of comparable or greater approximate retail value as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, such as a special edition pin and lanyard, a special edition Dream Mouse Ears or a merchandise gift basket (which may include a Disney Gift Card).

I cant recall anyone here posting they have won anything besides ears or the lanyard, but I guess it is possible that they did "win" something else like fastpasses and the ears or lanyard were substituted without the winners knowledge.

Been following this thread a long time and forgot now that I joined the DIS I can post in it.....back in May my daughter and I both won ears in the mail! I was so excited, more excited than she was, lol!

I've been sending in postcards for 5 months now. When this last batch runs out I am not sending any more. It's crazy how some people win two, three times, and I haven't even won ONE lousy lanyard. Forget you, Disney! LOL.

I just sent in my first batch of YOMD postcards & wouldn't you know it - the post office returned a couple to me!!! I bought the postcards at the PO & asked specifically how to address them (didn't want them returned to me) and yet it still happened. Going to the PO tomorrow to ship a package so I'll have to ask what's up with this??????????

Don't know if I'll win anything, but I figured if I didn't at least mail some in I'd never know!!

OMG! DBF just calleda nd aksed me to stop by the post office on the way home because...we have a package from DISNEY! waiting for us!!! I started sending in post cards in the beginning of April. I sent in 3 a day until my 100 were gone. I hope this is a YOMD prize! I’ll let you guys know!

I won the lanyard and pins! Yay! Well actually DBF won cuz it came in his name. Since the begiging of April I have sent in 100 post cards. My mom did the same and this is the first prize we have won!

I haven't won anything for months even though I continue to mail in 2 entries every other day. Up until a couple of mths ago I was receiving a package fairly regularly. I received 5 or 6 ears and 3 or 4 lanyards but things have come to a screeching halt. Wonder what gives? I was wondering about every one else too. Don't won't to sound greedy but something has definitely changed. Maybe just my luck, LOL.

As of mid December (go to the main WDW website for exact info) there is a new address to send postcards in for 2008 YOAMD! It is nearly the same address, just a different PO Box! There is also a virtual catalog of the 2008 prizes on there!

I have sent in about 100 entries since May (for the three of us) and have never won anything! I imagine that, as the contest continues and word of mouth and advertising increases, so do the mail in entries! There is a WDW commercial on all of the time it seems (in our area) and about every other one mentions the YOAMD contest!
