Yo! Park reservations are making me nervous!

Coming up on our next Disneyland trip and currently noticing that DCA park reservations for park hopper tickets are going quicker than Disneyland ressies. Currently next week there is only the option to start at Disneyland for days available. WHYYYY? Isn't it usually the opposite? I swear in the past Disneyland would go quicker but I could be wrong. Anyway, I have 5 day park hoppers and chose Disneyland as my starting park for every single day, mostly because of dining reservations but now I'm thinking I should give up breakfast at the Plaza Inn for a morning at DCA if I won't be able to hop after 1 PM due to capacity...or whatever. Can anyone weigh in on current trends? Why are DCA reservations running out faster?

DCA gets thrown off by all the OBB nights. Personally, I wouldn't start all 5 days at DL - I'd want at least one morning at DCA to hopefully rope-drop RSR or hit Pixar Pier before crowds get too bad. You won't have an issue hopping at 1, but it'll probably be packed by then, and on OBB nights, that only gives you a couple of hours until that mix-in starts...

Probably because of Oogie Boogie Bash when DCA is closing earlier on Tue/Thu/Sun for those without a ticket. People starting there on those days and hopping to DL or choosing to start there on non party nights. There may be other reasons but that would be my guess.

I'm not sure why I didn't think of that. I assumed that after I attended my OBB that it was all over because I'm the only person in the world.
That does make a lot of sense. I did not however purchase Merriest Nights tickets for my visit 11/7-11/13. Maybe the scales will tip in this case? Definitely plan to keep my DL reservation on the night of the party that week which I think is 11/11.

Yeah you're right. I'm feeling funky with all those DL reservations. I think I'll switch a few and give up a couple breakfast ressies. I don't need all those mickey waffles anyhow . I'm going from 11/7-11/13 so it won't be Oogie Boogie messing me up, it'll be Merriest Nights. Which I now regret not buying tickets for but $500 plus for my whole party was a bit steep. Oh well! Ill keep my DL park reservation for that day and start there and change a few other days. Thanks for weighing in!

So far, there hasn't been a day when you *can't* hop with a hopper ticket for capacity. The only limitation has been when an after-hours party is occuring.

That was the case when we were about a week ago as well. OBB nights were usually start at DL only as the only park hoppers available, but there was never an issue with not being able to park hop.

Ahhh ok, good to know. So if I’m cool with no mornings in DCA, then I will most likely be able to hop after 1 PM. So wishing I bought merriest nights tickets! If only money grew on trees.
