I think we have 2 useless chit chat threads now. I think I should put this in this one.....
I have a parenting question.
Do I coddle my children too much??????? Actually, that's not a real question, I already know the answer. Anyway...
My oldest DD is on a mission trip. She really doesn't like being away from home and only has a few friends that she will actually sleep over with. This trip is a week long, but it is local. I thought it would be a good way for her to give of herself, have the experience, but still be close to mom and dad. Plus, I sing for them on Thursday, Scott cooks for them on Friday. I did a hike with them on Sunday. Monday night I went and picked her up so she could sleep at home. Last night I slept out there with her (on a concrete floor~now that was restfull!), with the "deal" that she would tough it out the rest of the week. Well, she isn't feeling so tough and really wants to be done with the whole thing. I think she is working WAY more than she expected.
I really want her to be bold here, but I also don't want to turn her off to public service by forcing the issue either! I think this will be good for her. Teach her to stand on her own feet and know that life isn't always cushy.
What should I do???????
