Oh Ami been there and done that, my dd did the same thing, I thought that was the longest week of my life and after it was all said and done " she said she had a great time " ...geez stress

I always tell my DD that she needs to finish out her commitment, and if she doesn't ever want to do it again that is fine. But she needs to finish what she started. It is hard, I always feel bad making her do something she doesn't want to, and is nervous about. It really pulls at the heartstrings, but you gotta stay strong. You are doing the best thing for her because she is learning to keep her word. If you allow her to back out, she will back out of everything when it is hard, or not as enjoyable. Hang in there Ami, the end of the week is in sight. Besides, just keep reminding her that she will see you through out the week. She will be ok, and like you said, may actually enjoy herself by the end of the week. Good luck!!

OK I was away this weekend and came back to feeling really confused! I had these weird threads showing up but thankfully I think my brain is working again and I'm back up to speed....at least till the next thread name change.

The hike I did with the kids on Sunday is one we take all our out of town guests on. Everytime I go up there, it hits me how beautiful it is and how lucky I am that this kind of natural splendor is practically in my back yard. I thought I'd share.

The closest campground is probably my yard
There may be something in the Jefferson National Forest....I'm not certain. There is also the New River Junction Campground that is about 13 miles from it. My yards the nicest though

It does look shallow...but looks can be deceiving! Under the falls is a ledge and then a drop off....I don't know of anyone who has actually reached the bottom!

As I was walking back after our swim, I was thinking a golf cart or 4 wheeler would be nice (one of the trails could handle a cart)! It would at least hush my kids about their blisters!

Ami, we love that hike too. I have a camera somewhere in the btm of the water. lol.

There's lots of great campgrounds around. Maybe not right next to it but close.

Most kids HATE camp of any kind the first day or two. By the end of the week, they are crying and sobbing all over each other because they don't want to go home. I'm sure you're DD will be the same way.

Remember,,,, this is the same baby who, as an infant, had your complete and undivided attention. Everytime she even "coo-ed", you RAN because you just knew something was wrong.

By the time baby #2 & 3 came along, you knew better. You ran only when you sensed blood might be involved or they were too quiet! (LOL)

This is the same play, but just a different theater. (Like the analogy?)
