Yo Ho Yo Ho A Pirate's Life for We Halloween *2012* PTR has begun!

I know this might be a silly question, and I'm a bit  but exactly where is the Lego store downtown? I know its crazy but I don't even remember seeing it.

A couple of funnies for Colton's fans

His teacher pulled me aside to tell me this story.

She was wearing a sleeveless shirt with a sweater over it and it got hot in the classroom so she removed the sweater.

Colton got a shocked look on his face and says Mrs. ******* have you been working out? She was completely tickled.

He had a short day at school today they got out at noon. When he got home he said

"It was a good thing we got out early today. Mrs. ****** put so many words in my head today if she had put one more in it would have exploded"

When do you actually leave? I know it is soon.

We leave on Thursday :banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

So we left the PPH and headed across the street to our regular shortcut through the GCH. The lobby was packed with people today enjoying the lobby to avoid the rain but not us we were on a mission to get to everything the crowd had kept us from thus far. DTD was practically empty and the rain was now a little less pounding than it had been when we left our hotel for breakfast.

Those ponchos we had been gifted last night were really coming in handy now! We had brought along dollar store ponchs but it was nice to be wearing the uniform as just about every family we saw was garbed in their Mickey ponchos just as we were. I had thrown the dollar store ponchos in the backpack for gifting if we saw someone in need of cover as anyone without one on this day was probably on a stricter budget than we were.

There are not many pics on this day as we did not want to endanger the cameras in the wet but there are a few.

Main St was blissfully uncrowded and we headed for Space MT to get FPs for later if Colton decided to go for it. After our FPs were in hand we headed for the hub and stopped to get another ride in on Buzz as the line was only 5 minutes!

We went across the mostly empty hub and headed for Critter Country for another ride on Colton's favorite Splash what the heck like we could get any wetter right? But we detoured when we saw on mousewait that IJ only had a 20 min wait. It was pretty cool to walk the que on IJ in the rain...A real live Rain Forest by Disney. It made the outside part of the line really magical. Colton really enjoyed the line in and outside. He played at being IJ all the way.

Now one of Colton's favorite games is being IJ he has 2 different IJ hats and his bomber jacket. He uses a short piece of rope as his "whip". He loves the movies and the adventure of the whole thing. We were sure he was going to love this ride! We had watched the videos on youtube over & over. He said he didn't like it? We were totally confused as we had figured we would hit this one multiple times today...hmmm a mystery he didn't even say why? It was only after the trip when we were at home that he told us it was the giant rock ball that had freaked him out. He was really afraid of this even though when he had seen it on youtube he had thought it was cool, in person he thought it was dangerous. Once I explained the rock was on a track and it came forward for us then backed up and reset so it could roll again at the next car did he decide that when we go in October he wants to ride it again.

After the disappointing reaction to IJ we got back on track and headed for Splash with a 5 min wait and it was just as successful for my kid as the first time. Next he picked BTMRR and we headed there and picked up a FP as well as riding it with only a 15 min wait time.

We headed over to NOS to check the wait time on the HMH which was at 30 minutes Colton balked here DID NOT want to go on this one at all! Now I was sure once onboard he would like this but how to talk him into it? So I told him if he rode this for me I would let him pick the next two rides. He counter offered with If he rode this for me we would ride Splash 3x in a row and then BTMRR 3x in a row. So having made our deal we hit the line for HMH (FP line was not operating).

In line we saw a family with the biggest umbrella we had ever seen! It was easily the size of one of those umbrellas that go on a patio table and there were 8 of them under it, but since they had room they invited us to join them LOL I don't know what they did with that thing when the rain stopped there is no way it would have fit in even the biggest locker at DL. Hope their hotel was close.

We entered the stretching room and Colton had a death grip on us both. I was starting to get worried that this was not going to be a success. He had relaxed a little bit as I pointed out the stretching pictures on the wall when the lightning flashed and he saw Jack on the ceiling, He screamed really loud and the death grip was back. He was really happy when the doors opened he wanted out! I don't think he saw the gallery at all as his face was buried in my hip at this point. I looked at Brant should we chicken exit at this point? Or should we push on?

My 16 year old daughter Kody hates the regular HM, absolutely hates it. Now when it is dressed up as HMH she really loves it. I hope that Colton loved it all dressed up.

I finally made it over!

Right.at.the.end :headache:!

Loved reading your days at DLR with the family. Colton is so cute and that Mickey camo shirt of his is just fabulous!

Hope you didn't chicken exit out of HM.

WOW! The crowds were horrendous for your trip. But how fantastic to have so many more in the pipeline. Happy planning for the next one.

While reading mariezp's trip report I saw a pic with her daughter about to enter a cave on the island...this hit me over the head with a very cool moment I had totally forgotten about our visit to The Pirates lair.

When Colton & I entered that cave Brant was behind us and laughed like a pirate or maybe it was an evil villan? Anyway with the echo caused by the cave It was eerie and gave me the chills, we thought it was an effect until Brant told us he did it. He was quite proud of himself.

Also in that cave is a pirate in jail who tells the story of cursed gold and bad luck. There is an interactive spot where you can choose to touch the gold or not. Colton was quite upset when both Brant & I touched it & got cursed he was really mad at us that we were so "uncareful" around cursed gold..

Thanks to mariezp for dredging up that memory for me so I could share it with you!

You will have to wait and see. Funny thing is I love the HM in it's natural state it is my "original" though I love HMH too. Neither of my boys nor my husband have ever ridden it any other way except as HMH! The girls rode it that way when they were little but we make so many holiday trips that Brant Nathan & Colton have all only ever rode it with the overlay. So for them that is their "original" When we go spring 2012 it will be the first time for Brant & Colton as HM so it will be interesting to see their reactions to it without the overlay maybe we can talk Nathan & his wife into joining us on that trip so all 3 of them can ride it the 1st time together.

I finally made it over!

Well it isn't totally over yet! Still have this DL day plus two more before we are home safe & sound in Montana

He is a cutie, and I appreciate you enjoyingmy family as it is so obvious your family is so close & have so much fun together. My Mom did really great on the shirt and gave it to him Christmas Eve.

Hope you didn't chicken exit out of HM.

You know believe it or not even with all the crowds this was one of my favorite trips ever and I would do it again in a minute! (maybe not the DCA part) princess::upsidedow

I meant to say a while back that California Adventure really grew on me (I know a couple of other folks have said the same thing - that it grew on them). When I first went inside California Adventure, my friend was not even sure what there was to see in there and wondered why we were bothering. I said, "Well, how are we going to know what's in there unless we go in?"

I hadn't been to DLR in years by the time I first went in to California Adventure. So not only did I have to get re-acquainted with Disneyland itself, but I had to get familiar with this whole new park! It was odd, seeing as my entire life, all I knew was Disneyland and only Disneyland. I felt very out of sorts in a way. I had to really get situated with the lay of the land.

And eventually, I grew to love good ol' DCA!! Of course, it houses two of my favorite rides - Soarin' and Toy Story (especially Toy Story, which I could ride all day long if my forearm could handle it) - so I could never NOT go into DCA. But I like that it's not a carbon copy of Disneyland. In fact, some of the changes they are making to DCA almost seem better suited to Disneyland (like the Little Mermaid ride) and I kind of wish DCA would keep its own personality.

But the main thing DCA lacks (other than attractions and overall size) is that 'magic' element that Disneyland has in abundance. It needs more of those details that make Disneyland so special. But I still really enjoy DCA now.

I hope DCA eventually grows on you too, Sherri!

My two biggest disappointments as far as DCA is concerned is that I didn't get to ride Soarin' as it was down most of the day and I had been hearing about this ride since DCA opened and really wanted to ride it.Second that we didn't get onto the pier at all so did not get to ride TSMM as we have the Wii version of that at home and we all love it.

We could have gone back to DCA and picked these up but I had felt so robbed of DL while in DCA the day before I couldn't bring myself to go back the next day. We will however give it another shot in October...It can't be bad like it was for us all the time I have seen good reviews and great pics...Just a bad day to learn a new park for sure!

By the way I know you lurk around here but it's nice to hear from you once in a while! :)
