Yo Ho Yo Ho A Pirate's Life for We Halloween *2012* PTR has begun!

Hi Sherri!! I am here to check out your TR. :) I already saw the horse pics you posted and, omg, my girls would be in heaven at your place!! Wow.

I will greatly miss the waterfalls and the koi ponds. They were so pretty and picturesque. Those were my favorite parts of the grounds of the DLH - we used to always make a point of walking behind the 'falls to get sprayed by the mist back in the '80s and early '90s.
We would too!
When Adam was a baby, about 15 and a half years ago, we'd go there and just hang out in that area and take pics. I loved it.

Okay, off to read some more......... popcorn::

I am in heaven at my place...well not really right now there is still 3-6 feet of snow on the ground out here now but it should be gone soon..last year at this time we had new pasture grass coming up...wow when all this snow melts we are going to have alot of mud! But mostly it is heaven. Tell them to never give up I started begging for a horse when I was 5 and when I was 12 I asked for a saddle figuring that once I owned the tack they would have to get me a horse right? 12 year old logic right? I was 40 before I got my wish but I did get it eventually.

We would too!

Interesting Lego strategies. I do similiar, buy when I see a deal and save them for Christmas and Birthdays.

It's good the Dining Plan worked. Do you think you ate more than you would of without it?

Welcome back Sherri....and congratulations on being a grandmother. Hope that Luke and Leia are well.

Just got home from my 12 hour shift with my mare and no foal yet but what an awful night snow/rain mix yuck! will winter never end? Last year at this time we already had pasture grass and wild strawberries coming up this year there are still 6 foot snow drifts....GRRR.... so before I crash out for a little much needed shut eye before I go paint sets for the play at the High School this afternoon thought I would catch up a little on the DIS

Not MORE but very differently, a lot more TS meals, we usually only do a few TS and mostly do CS. Also we did 4 character meals and BB all in one trip which we never would have done normally.

Welcome back Sherri....and congratulations on being a grandmother. Hope that Luke and Leia are well.

Glad to be back! The twins are feisty and fine. All my kids at some point did the "rodent pet" hamsters, mice, guinea pigs etc but I have to say the Chinchillas have been the most fun they are so cute and interactive.

Welcome back!! And congrats on the new babies!! Can't wait to see the pictures!!:goodvibes

Hey... are you going to leave me hanging. I can see you posting on other peoples reports so I know your here. :teeth:

Please finish. I can't wait any longer.

I promise not to leave you hanging...yes I am here and am now no longer on constant horse watch.

I read through my whole trip report today to get back in the rythm of it. have written the report and pics are uploading to photobucket SLOWLY so look for an new episode Sunday.

So when we left off (almost a month ago sorry guys!) we were wending our way towards the doom buggies with a terrified 6 year old. As I said we did press on but with the current reaction knew this would be our only ride through our beloved mansion so decided to go on and enjoy it as much as possible.

We boarded our doom buggy and set out...Colton was only occasionally peeking until we got to the hallway where zero lurks. I said look Colton it's zero up came the head and from there on he was searching for appearances of his favorite ghost dog and hidden Mickey's. So maybe this was not going to be a disaster after all.

As we exicted the ride on the moving sidewalk Colton was bouncing up and down "Can we do it again?" Shocked I say yes and he says "Can I look down when Jack is on the ceilling?" again I say yes. Thinking we would be back after all our promised 3x rides he says "right now?" So that is what we did. He did look down while in the stretching room but after that had a wonderful time.

We will luckily have one more trip in October with it as HMH before he and his Daddy ride it next spring as the HM for the first time hopefully that will be just as successful.

So do you think we were off the hook on our deal? No way as soon as our 2nd trip through the mansion was done he was yelling "Now Splash Mountain Now Splash Mountain!" So guess what is next yep 3x in a row Splash Mountain!

On our first trip through Colton asked the CM if he could ride in front since it was his birthday...showing off his birthday button.

So there we were in front and this time through we got soaked like a bunch of drowned rats despite our ponchos and we rode it all 3x in the front as the CM recognized him and asked him front again? every time.

Saoking wet we exited after our third trip to see that the rain was GONE! We stopped to take off our ponchos and get some photos at the meet & greet in Critter country although as every other time we had been here on our trip it was missing characters...we did not see them once even with lines the whole trip...thank goodness for meeting Eeyore & Tigger at Minnie's but I wish we had seen Pooh & Piglet too.

See how wet his hair was?

Do you know where we were off to next? Well Colton did!

Yep 3x on BTMRR!

After the BTMRR we stopped to look at the old mine train tunnel which Colton was sure was where trolls and ogres live at DL.

While there Colton spotted his very own one time only hidden mickey

We wandered towards Fantasyland and rode the carousel...Now I don't think I have mentioned this before but we rode the carousel 4x during the trip and everytime Colton got Lillian's horse with the gold tooth. The very first time he worked at spotting it while in line and knew exactly where it was and jetted for it. He told the CM at the first ride that he wanted the horse with the gold tooth she asked him if he knew why that horse was special and he told her it belonged to Mr Disney's wife. She said he was the first kid she had ever talked to that already knew that on their first ride ever. Every CM that week was amazed at his knowledge and he rode that same horse every single time. Note in the pictures how well the sunshine came out after the rain!

Now was a FL ride we hadn't managed yet so far..The Casey Jr train...we were first to load on our train which car did Colton pick? The Monkey cage Of Course!

He really liked that he could see Storybookland from the train.

Next was another Fantasyland ride that we did over & over Storybookland but today was the first time we managed it in daylight Colton really loved this ride and esp when he was picked as whale watcher on every one of our rides.

What comes next? Here's a hint for those that have been here since the beginning we are headed back to Tomorrowland to do the only thing there that we have not yet done this trip.

This is something you have in common with Liza/funatdisney - horses!! She loves her horses!

You're preaching to the choir about the slooooow loading on Photobucket.:headache: And it didn't get any faster for me when I decided to give in and pay for one of my accounts (instead of maintaining the 'free' status). The paid accounts are the ones with no ads to pollute the page and slow everything down, and yet, things seem to still be creeping along at a snail's pace.

It does take a while to get into the rhythm of a TR when you've had to break from it for a bit. And yet, sometimes we need to take breaks from our own TR's! Sometimes we get writer's block or just get tired of typing and describing and posting. But when we take a break, we have to get back into the groove and it can take some time!

Colton is so cute on Casey Jr.!!

How cute Colton was on the train.

Your son looked good and excited to be in the Money caged car on Casey Jr.

He was quite funny in that cage aping around but did you notice how quiet & focused he got while we were going where he could see Storybookland? The monkey in him went away. I think Storybookland really intrigued him

Colton is so cute...and your pictures are gorgeous. How fun to be able to ride the rides multiple times in a row. I bet your family really enjoyed the experience. :goodvibes

After the crowds we had earlier in the trip this whole day felt like freedom! We got to ride alot of things again & again. You can see in the background of the pics in FL that the crowds picked up a little when the rain stopped but not much as it was a chilly day for California...but being from Montana it really bothered us very little!

So we were getting hungry...It was time for lunch and Pizza Port was our destination. After a bit of discussion we decided it might be better to use our Space Mt fastpass before lunch as after could be a bad thing.

So off to space! The FP line got us all the way to the "hanger" Colton thoroughly enjoyed the line his head was whipping this way and that every 2 seconds there was something else he was pointing out to Mom & Dad. He found a hidden mickey and was thrilled. This time he chose to ride with Mommy asked me to keep my arm around him and off we went.

Now if there is anyone out there who doesn't know this Space Mountain is totally dark inside you cannot see the person sitting next to you. On the first part of the ride as we journeyed to the real start Colton positioned us so that I had my left arm around him and he had both hands gripping my right hand in his lap so I was in a bit of an awkward position for the whole ride.

When we picked up speed Colton started screaming....In terror? In excitement? As a mom I thought I would be able to tell...but through the whole ride I had no idea if he was enjoying it thoroughly or if he was terrified. He continued to have a death grip on my hand but I still didn't know what he was experiencing.

Here is a pic on the way out of the ride...the space backgrounds on the walls did some weird things to all the pics we took here and to both cameras...everything is blurred but do you think he liked it or hated it?

374.jpg

I'm kidding that pic says nothing about his mood...He was trying to pose like Buzz Lightyear if I remember correctly...LOL

In all seriousness though has anyone else had this problem with those backgrounds? We took it with 2 different cameras both our DSLR and our point & shoot and 2 different photographers and they all came out like this. Maybe the ride shook up the grown ups more than I thought. However I have not seen any other pics on the DIS in front of these so either no one has tried it or they are hiding pics that look like this from the rest of us.

So back to the ride....as soon as it got light I looked at Colton's face to gauge his mood...and he was smiling and said "THAT WAS AWESOME!"

Yes another roller coaster he loves...sadly we did not manage this one again this trip but he is looking forward to SMGG when we return in October.

We headed over to Pizza Port for lunch, Brant & I got lasagne & a salad to share. Colton got the kid's meal pizza I was a bit annoyed that the kids meal pizza required a 15 min wait (slices of pizza were readily available in a variety of flavors but you can't substitute slices into the kids meal and Colton really wanted another plastic mickey head plate to take home) while waiting my lasagne got cold so I asked them to take the cold one back and I got a new one after Colton's pizza was ready. AFTER we got through the line we were really happy with our meal
Even Colton's pizza that I was a bit worried about after the reviews I had read about their pizza on the DIS was a hit at least with the one eating it.

I do love the posters on the wall in this restaurant they are very cool but our stand in photographer didn't get any pics at this meal.

Next up a weird zig zagging land hopping adventure through DL.

You have one very adventurous kid there! I'm so glad that he loved it.

I actually haven't tried taking a picture in SM....must remember to do that next time and get that really cool arty farty effect :thumbsup2.

It is sorta arty farty isn't it LOL. These space view palstic panels are on the wall as you exit the ride and I will def shoot it again in October just to see what happens. I want to try shooting it without the kid just one of the space panels. If we hadn't had 2 photographers & two cameras do the same thing I would think the camera had moved during shooting as it even blurred Colton but I am not sure what happened...maybe all of Space Mt moves a bit or the people exiting caused a vibration...really not sure it was weird.

All caught up and learned which horse was Lillian's didn't know that before. My daughter did the carousel until she got to ride Mary Poppins horse. Great TR!
