A few friends of mine and I are going to the YMCA tonight. None of us are members. Does anyone know how much it costs to go? Can we even get in without being members? We don't want to buy a membership today. We just want to go and exercise...then go to TGI Fridays to get everything we just lost back. LOL.

I doubt you can get in without a member. Our YMCA guest fees just increased. $20 for a family, $10 for an adult.

You might be able to say you are interesed in joining and they might let you in free to check it out.

Go on your local YMCA web site or call ahead and ask. Hate to see you make the trip for nothing. Our local Y is very strict w/ rules.

Ours has day passes you can buy for either $5. or $7.00. I really think it is $5.00.

Our membership rates have got so high I think we are going to start just paying the day price ourself because DD isn't going as often since High school studies take too much time.

I've never heard about being let in without being a member, unless you pay to be someone's guest.

Mine gives guest passes to members, so you could go with a member. I don't think they even have day passes.

Thanks yall! We'll go and check it out just so I don't have to go to my grandparent's house tonight. (Not the grandparents I mind, its the uncle and the girlfriend, but thats another story). If its too much, we'll find something else to do. We're creative. LOL.

The Y we go to lets a member bring in guests with them (no charge for the guests). I think there is a limit on how many they can bring in. The guest just has to leave their driver's license at the front desk when they come in and pick it up later. I love our Y!

Our day prices are $12 for non-members, believe it or not. Our Y doesn't really seem interested in encouraging people to casually check them out.

We went to one of the local Ys. This one was 10$ for a day pass. We had a ton of fun! We decided to go every Friday and I will be buying a membership (or better yet convincing my mom to buy the family membership. LOL). After we went, we decided to go reward ourselves for all of our hardwork ( ) and go to Friday's for dinner. It was really packed, so we went to the mall. We had 3 different kinds of chicken (we each got something diff. and shared...Chinese, Japanese, and Chik-fil-a) and then we went to starbucks and got frappucinos. So there went our whole healthy kick. LOL.

BTW: Sorry this is a little late. I've been so busy all weekend.

They might have a 1 day membership for people that want to try it out. Our Y is pretty small so I can't imagine them doing that but larger ones probably do. Especially if they're in an area with a lot of business travelers.
