what type of log home are you planning on? Handcrafted, like ours, or manufactured? We did about 2 years of fact finding before we actually got started.

That is awesome, Diane! Dh and I have always dreamed of owing a Log Home (we even occasionally buy "Log Home Living" magazine just to ooh and aah over it). But the upkeep has always made us shy away from it.

Maybe someday...until then, I'll live vicariously through you!!

TerriP, I would think there would be lots of log homes in MI! A lot of the companies who do manufactured homes are there.

How exciting! We have neighbors who have 2-story log houses. They are sisters and live across from each other. The houses are great. It was very exciting to see the trucks arrive with the logs. We are in the country, so the setting is really nice for the log houses. They are also at the end of a dead-end road. Their logs came from Texas.
