The first of 5 log trucks for our new home arrives this morning, and I am SOOOOO excited!!! I will try to post a pic of them going up tomorrow. This is only the garage/kennel building on this truck. The other 4 with the house wont arrive until next week sometime.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Congratulations, Diane! I know this is a really, really exciting time!

I hope it all goes really well. After all, when you host the biggest Discon we've ever seen next summer......you want it to be perfect.......right???? :teeth: :teeth:

Congratulations Diane!

Now you just need to get a little bit more fired up about this!

Pictures are a must!

WOW, you are excited, but so aren't I, don't forget about the extra bedroom you are building for me, I bet this house is going to be beautiful. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

One truck at a time :teeth:

This is very exciting. I hope you will do a photo essay for us as the house is constructed.

Yeah Diane!!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:
Please keep us updated with pics. I love being able to see what we'll go through in 5+ years or so when we get to build our dream log home as well. I'm just as excited for you!!! :D

Yay for you Diane!!! That is so exciting!!! I can't wait to see the pics you post of this!

Very happy for you!! And will look forward to seeing pictures!! :D
We hope to build a log home in northern Michigan shortly before our "retirement years" begin, but just a small one (don't want too much to clean when I'm old!).

A few pictures...

This looks like an interesting process to watch! :) It appears that the logs were all preshaped and numbered before they were loaded on the truck; is that the way they do it?

Actually, the whole building is built in the log yard in Canada where all the craftsmen and equipment are handy. They are all hand peeled and notched as they are put in place. Then they take it apart and truck it here and place the numbered logs as they take them off the truck. It was a very interesting process to watch. The man with the maul is hammering in large drift pins to hold the logs together.

Now I can hardly wait for the main part of the house to arrive! That is supposed to be December 2nd. It was originally planned for the day before Thanksgiving, but it wasn't ready to be shipped yet, so we had to delay until after.

How cool is that? It's like a life sized Lincoln Log set!

How very cool! Talk about building a house brick by brick, well, log!!!

Keep those pictures coming! This is exciting! Thanks for sharing.
