So I've read threads before on FP and refreshing, but I'm still confused. Is refreshing basically just going in and modifying and checking for different times over and over again? You are not actually refreshing the screen are you? And if so, how?
iPhone keep selecting between different times...Android keep hitting the same time over and over.

In essence, yes you are refreshing the screen by checking for FP+. As noted, with an Android you can hit the same button over and over and over...hence refreshing.

We went last week 3/2-3/9 and we had a wonderful time. We didn’t find the crowds too crazy- Sunday at MK was the busiest. We rode just about everything and we had a party of 8. We had a few days when we were able to get extra fast passes, but we split the group up into two groups of 4 to look. We usually went back to the room to rest about 3 and then went back for fireworks or dinner. We used mobile ordering which helped cut down on food lines. If lines were too long then we saw a show. It was one of the most magical weeks we’ve had there and both our kids (11 and 9) were almost in tears when it was time to leave. I think it’s all about attitude.

The difference is most schools back then all took spring break either the week before Easter or the week after Easter, then they all decided that they should spread it out more in order to try to breakup the massive "spring break" parties and such.
And 2008 & 2009 were recession years. We saw some of the best deals & lowest crowds then.

Does refresh method work best for searching for same day fast passes, or have you had luck finding ones a few days out?

What's worse, spring break or June? We went June last year and crowds didn't seem crazy (I mean, we go into it knowing it will be somewhat busy and somewhat crowded) so I guess our expectations were already primed. The middle of the day was nuts, for sure. We took breaks because of the heat and came back later. We had great success with same day fastpasses after we used our initial ones.

We start our vacation in Disney Saturday. Luckily, we spent on 2 early morning magics at Hollywood Studios next week and one at Magic Kingdom as well as the Magic Kingdom after hours.

As far as the refresh method of fastpasses, is iPhone or Android better or doesn't it matter? I know you have to do it a little differently, but is one easier or more successful then the other? When we were down in June of last year, I used an LGG4 with great success. Upgraded to an iPhone. Just curious. I still have my LGG4, could still bring it...

Yeah Spring Break is way worse. Last June and July weren't bad at all. Felt like the world showcase had 10 people in it.

I just got back from a five day trip with just dh and me. We went the same time last year (first weekend of Flower and Garden). I felt it was more crowded this time. We had fastpasses, but I found there was less availability then last year when I went to modify or get a 4th. This didn't bother us much because we are happy to just stroll around, take our time, and take in the atmosphere, but the crowds made this much less enjoyable then the previous year. I am back in August with the kids and am terrified now that Galaxy's Edge is opening. I rented DVC points so I can't move the dates. We vacation in August with the kids because none of us want to deal with the crowds and find choose to rather deal with the heat. Now, we will have to figure out how to deal with both.

We went Feb 1-8, 2018. Crowds were okay in my opinion. But we also had all of the hard-to-get FP+, so that definitely helped!

Yes we did the 4/3 deal. I believe it was $2800 for a week at CBR with DDP for a family of four. Plus a $200 gift card at check in. The deals were amazing and there were maybe 25 people in WS.

Same day by far. You can try a few days out, but odds are slim. The day of is when people start making changes and things move...fast.

Doesn't matter. I'm an Android person, I think Apple stuff is all hype and nothing but trouble, but for MDE it doesn't matter (DW used to have Apple).

I know what you mean about wanting to help non planners.
A CM was actually trying to help her at the time I heard this so I kept moving. Also unfortunately I think she was past the point of being able to think at that point. She was done.

No more fast passes were available for today in any parks when I checked around 7. I can’t remember ever not being able to add extra FPs into the evening before.
Yes it made me very sad when we got off 7 dwarves after riding it for the first time and my 6 year old daughter was like "again!" But i knew there was no way we'd make it to late enough in the day to get another FP if one even became available and otherwise it was a 2 hour wait. I just helped a friend who is going in 18 days and hadn't made any FPs yet. It was a reality check for her but she was glad I helped her with FPs and an itinerary. Miraculously they still got a lunch reservationat Liberty Tree but she was surprised CRT was booked for the whole week .I was like, yeah you need to book that the moment the booking window opens.

We got a sweet stay for 4 nights and get 3 extra nights free deal at the Contemporary for our honeymoon. :D
Us too (not honeymoon but the deal). We stayed at Boardwalk. That’s when we crossed over to deluxe resorts & haven’t gone back! We also got a $200 gift card with the deal!
