Yikes! I can't go to Narcoossee's!!!

I just wanted to thank everyone for your feedback. I think I'll suggest 1900 Park Fair (I will have to hide from my older DS the fact that there might be princesses there...) or tell my folks to enjoy a quiet, relaxing dinner and offer to meet up for ice cream later.

I know that some kids can sit quietly and be entertained with crayons, etc. - but my younger DS is going through this screaming phase that just won't allow it to work. I look forward to the day when it dawns on him that screaming in public is not socially acceptable. (Sigh.) I just can't rely on that happening between now and February though.

Disney is for CHILDREN! There is only one Disney resturant that people should expect no children at and that is Victoria & Alberts. If Disney didn't want children in signature resturants they would not offer kids menus. We just got back from WDW traveling with our friends and their two children of 2 and 4 and we ate at the Yachtsman Steakhouse. It was a great meal. The two year old got a bit restless after about an hour and he was taken on a short walk. When he got back he was entertained by the wait staff. We have eaten at Narcoossee's in 2005. At the table next to us was young children. After about an hour they started to act up. That's what kids do. The parents apoliged to us and seemed a bit embaressed but we told them not a problem since it is Disney and Disney is for CHILDREN. As long as you do not allow your children to yell at the top of their and run around the restaurant it will be fine.

Gee, all this time we've been going without children and we thought we were welcome. Guess not. If your attitude is shared by the multitude we will spend the money we pay for deluxe resorts and deluxe dining somewhere that it is appreciated!

Respectfully, no. Servers who want a good tip will do their best to provide ALL their customers with excellent and equal service. It's the parent's job to keep their children occupied during a restaurant meal.

I agree parents must mind their children and not disturb others. But Ive had waiters ignore my child and make it boring. I've had really good dining experiences at Disney when the waiter talks to my child, not ignore them, and do special little things to make it enjoyable for my child that required little effort. Like presenting dessert in a fun way or talking with my child about their Disney day. We are paying a lot of money for our meal and tip very good often much more than 20 percent and I expect conversation with the kids at my table too. Those who do so are quite happy with theirtip... I've seen their smile of appreciation.

I think you made the right choice! 1900 is very fun, Cinderella's stepsisters provide some very fun entertainment. And your parents will so enjoy watching the grandkids have fun with the characters. 1900 is also rather noisy and believe me, there is nothing your child could do that would probably cause anyone around them to notice at a crowded character meal!

I think you would be too stressed about Narcoose's wondering if and when your toddler would act up, better to go someplace where you can have fun without the worry.

My son could have handled about anyhing at age two, my daughter was a real pill! When she got to be about three or four, she turned into a little angel which was quite nice.

Enjoy your trip with your parents.

If you want a nice meal, I might suggest Coral Reef (your dad said seafood). The tank really keeps little ones occupied and you could do a nice, early lunch which is sometimes easier for little ones.

Have fun!

I would say give Narcoosees a try. We went there last year with our DDs then ages 7 & 4 and they were fine. This summer we took them to California Grill, which was loong for me and they did better than I did at the wait. haha. Just bring things to entertain them, dvd player, ipod, crayons they'll give you. To me, as other posters said, its non kid-unfriendly..its a casual atmosphere and very loud in there and you can easily take a walk outside if needed. My DDs actually really liked this restaurant when we went.
