Yikes! How does anyone stay in a studio long term?

I seldom book anything other than a studio. If there are two of us, it's more than roomy enough. But, I don't leave the bed out during the day..that gets folded up. If there are more than three of us, then it's a one bedroom. The only time I book a two bedroom is when there are two couples for more than a few nights. Privacy is nice.

Never stayed in a studio. We have a family of four and it's a one bedroom all the way. Staying in a hotel room just doesn't cut it for any of us at all anymore.

I'm sure many are like you! One bedroom villas are wonderful. I love them. But, I travel to WDW at least twice a year, this year will have a lot more! So best use of points is a studio.
But it sure is nice to have a w/d and full kitchen.

We have only stayed in a 1 bedroom a couple of times. There are only 2 of us so for us we are fine with the studio and prefer longer stays vs bigger rooms. Some day we want to add on points and sometimes stay in bigger units but we still prefer longer stays so who knows. Someday if we had a kid I don't know that it would bother me but I may start wanting a 1 bedroom then. We have had a 3rd person stay with us on a few occasions and it was a bit more crowded but still fine for us. We did take my little brother who was 11 at the time a few years back in a studio and we didn't mind it.

Yeah, we go once a year and some years not at all (like this one….I rented out our points). But we did go to Universal for a brief 3 day trip in April and one of the reasons we weren't thrilled with the Royal Pacific resort was the hotel-roominess of it all. We just trip over each other…and my kids are small. The 1 bedroom villa just feels like a real vacation. We use the kitchen to make breakfast every morning and do laundry when necessary and I actually really, really like it. The studios may be less points (which translates to a longer stay or more trips) but I don't necessarily want to be crammed into a room for a longer time, or taking many trips if we all have to be in the same room.

It is easy for me with only DH because we usually are together in a room. We often have DVC vacations of 12 nights. And we do cruises of 15 - 20 days in a cabin that is even smaller than a BLT studio.

But I would never add a third person over the age of 5. A child that young would dominate any hotel room and would always end up in the room you are in anyway. With a teen I would want a room I could escape to.

The only time we have stayed in anything bigger than a studio was for a race trip. We had another couple with us, and it was nice for everyone to have their own space.

I agree. But, most of my trips it's just me going, so a one bedroom is a waste of space. I don't mind going down to do laundry if need be. The times that I have had a one bedroom, and bought food? No one ate it!!! Seriously. Every time I would ask if anyone wanted anything to eat, the answer was no. But they got hungry in the parks. Huge amounts of food went to waste!!! Stupid family.

You do know how to change that behavior ... right?

Tom and I just finished 6 nights at WDW in studios, BLT and BCV, and things were fine! I must admit as I looked around the BCV studio, and thought about the table that converts to a bed, I thought about having 5 in that room. I would not like it, there are not 5 places to eat, and we do like morning coffee in the room.

We are at Vero now. Here were book an Ocean View Inn room when one is available. It's like a veranda on a real smooth ocean voyage. Tom said he hopes our crossing is as smooth next May!:boat:

We loved the Polynesian studio we stayed in July 3. We fixed a nice meal and had an "indoor picnic" because it was so hot outside. Of course there were only 2 of us and it was only one night, but it was beautiful, luxurious, roomy, and a great view of the fireworks on our water view 2nd floor room while drinking a glass of wine. I could see Cinderella's castle from the bed. It sure didn't seem like just any hotel room to me. :-) Can't wait to go "home" again, but alas, points are expensive to both buy and use.

Just got to Saratoga Springs last night. Resort is lovely. We are in the springs section and I love the location. But with a teen it feels so small for the 3 of us! With the sofa bed pulled out there is just no room or privacy. I can't imagine stuffing 5 in here! We are only here two nights and then it is off to the Grand Floridian in a one bedroom so it is all good. But hats off to any one who can stay a week with their family in a studio!

We've done a 12 night trip in studios but we only have 2 of us in there. It's just fine for us.
