I do this at Broadway theaters as well and never get beeped. Other people look at me like I'm crazy, but I'm not the one having to pull to the side and have my bag searched.

Yes. You can hear that both my daughter and I ‘beep’ going through the scanners as we have metal hinges on our eyeglass cases but, security can easily see we acknowledged what was going to set it off so we keep on walking without being pulled aside to search our bags.

I did that at Radio City Music Hall and Madison Square Garden last year. At MSG, I heard someone say, "She must go to Disney World..." The funny thing was, at that point I *hadn't* been to Disney since the new security screeners had been installed. I just knew what to do because of reading message boards.
