Dh and I will be there for the MNSSP on Sept 22nd. We weren't planning on going to it as Halloween isn't something we care much about. But I was wondering if it is worth it to go and see characters. Are the rides still up and running? Are all the characters in costumes? Is it worth it for two adults who don't celebrate halloween but want to see more characters? Also any pictures you want to share. If there is a thread with these pictures I can't find it. Thank you all for your help. :goodvibes

I have been four times in the past three years, and DD has always been about the rides and trick or treating.... we never did much character hunting. This year I renewed our interested in characters, and I have already warned her that if we see a character I AM STOPPING to get the autograph and picture.... I have heard that there are some more rare characters around, and I have seen some pics of them in different attire.

The parade and fireworks are awesome too! I really love the Halloween parade!
I can't wait!!

Here are some of my photos that I've posted before:
BTW: When we went down, there were PLENTY of young 20's and others Without Kids who were all dressed up! In fact, it was right after POC came out, the firt one, and there was this one guy who dressed and acted just like Jack Sparrow. It was such an awesome night!

Great pics. I seem to not have many pics - who me? of any of the parties we have been too... I used to be in those "traveling light moods" sometimes - and those must have been the nights, or maybe they are on a disk somewhere... I know I have the Mickey O'Lanterns (as opposed to Jack O'Lanterns).

I can't wait to take lots of pics this year with my better camera... and those characters... watch out!

I'm surprised at you! If someone asks for a photo, you reply: I'm going this weekend, or I'm going tomorrow and you post those photos like I eat potato chips!

Thanks for the pictures!!!! :thumbsup2
Anyone else have anything to share with me about MNSSP?

:rotfl2: Yep that's me.... that's why I'm thinking I must be missing some pics somewhere. I have gotten worse in the past few months since I got my new camera. My DD says I like my camera more than her... maybe during the parties I was being a GOOD MOM!!! I do have video of last year's parade.....

Well I think we have decided to go. So thank you for those who posted replies and pictures. :)

We went last year and had so much fun. My kids were 2 and 3, so they weren't interested in the parade or fireworks that much. We didn't do any trick-or-treating but the rides were all walk on. That is the main reason that we went. We did see some characters, mostly villians over by Fantasyland (I think). We are going this year and are hoping that it will be the same. I think that you will enjoy it because there are less people and a lot of fun to see the park decorated and the costumes. I think it is worth it, but then again, I love Disney no matter what!

My mom and I are thinking of going this year (still debating). I'm not so sure about dressing up- but can you still trick or treat a little if you don't have a costume?

We MAY decide to dress up but I'm not so sure mom is into it.

Anyone know what happens if it rains that night?

As far as I have read it seems that everything goes on as schedule (minus in the event of thunder/lightning).

What we were planning on doing is waiting until the week of the party and buying tickets based on the weather forecast. I wouldn't want to spend a bunch of money and then have it rain on our parade. Literally.

Here are some of our pics from '05 and '03

'03 as Pocahontas
'05 as a Vampire Witch
'06 Costume from BBB two days after birthday.

We went last year for the first time and it rained pretty steadily for several hours. We had ponchos and trick or treated in the rain, we were a bit soggy by the end of the evening but it was still a lot of fun. Fortunately it stopped prior to the parade and fireworks but the headless horseman didn't come out on his horse at the beginning of the parade due to the slippery pavement. If I recall, either the parade or fireworks were delayed due to the rain (we thought they would be canceled) but the show went on!!

KarenAylwood - DH and I didn't dress up, DD13 just wore her Minnie Mouse pajamas and MM ears and all 3 of us got TONS of candy!! I wasn't planning on trick or treating but the CM's seem to happily hand everyone bags on their way into the party. Considering we were dressed in ponchos most of the evening and our feet were soaked I was glad we weren't dressed in costumes (I know...I'm a scrooge!!). :)

I hope it doesn't rain but if it does we will do the same and make the best of it. Glad to hear it sounds like most of the party still goes on. Thanks for the info.

MNSSHP is in my opinion the best event at Disney World. It blows away the Christmas Party. And with all the changes made last year... its even better. It is the only time we have even been able to get character pictures. I love it, and we are two adults. The theming, the music, parades, fireworks... just everything. Its amazing. PM me if you want a link to my private website to look at pics.
