ok, not sure if this is answered but.....do you think it is safe (safe as in they aren't going to go out of business)to buy from UsAirways?? They have the exact flights I want, and I have a $40.00 voucher from the last time I went, so what do you guys think???

BTW we are going May 11th - May 16th.

Yes. They have completed ratifying contracts with their unions saving 1 billion dollars. In addition they have govt (ASTB?) funding through the end of June.

How about booking after June? We need flights in August and US Air has the best non-stop flights for our schedule.

We flew out of AVP on New Year's Day, a week after the Great PHL Baggage Disaster. I sweated it out, taking 3 days worth of stuff in a carry-on, but all went well. I'd use them again.

I'm not worried about baggage, just them going out of business. Don't want to be left with scrambling for a flight. Thanks for the replies. :)

I have USAir tix for early June, and also late November. Tried to use Dividend Miles on United, but no flights were available. I'm rolling the dice, and expecting that USAir will still be around until the end of the year.

I was curious too about the wisdom of purchasing tickets from US Air. I also had heard that they were hoping to emerge from bankruptcy by the end of June and that their contacts issues are settled, as plutospup said.

I'm looking for airfare for our May trip and not finding a whole lot that I like other than US Air. They have the flights I want, and I'm just not finding a whole lot with the other carriers that I like, either price wise or flight times. I have always had very good experiences with US Air -- I guess I'm gonna book (and keep my fingers crossed until we return home in May!)

The price was RIGHT for our June 7th flight from Cleveland with our return on June 16th. $132.40 each which includes tax and airport fees. We do have a 45 minute lay over/plane change both ways but since it's two adults and my 16 year old we can handle that. I will be packing carry on clothing changes for two days!

Take a chance and book. :cheer2:

We just booked with US Airways for our September trip! I think they will be fine. Just my gut feeling. Seems like they are really trying to keep a float with the employee's and management taking all the pay cuts - gotta give them a shot. They won't last long if nobody flys them. :grouphug:
