Yet another scam warning...

Sadly, with the good comes the bad. So, I had opened up a Sparrow offer room - and let me tell you, there is no better way to meet a lot of "interesting" characters. I had many people come in to tell me my offer wasn't anywhere near good enough (most who did not seem to even have Sparrow) and several tell me that I was over-offering. I had a couple people offer Sparrow, then immediately leave the room. But none of this really bothered me. One person did, however, and I would like to warn you all about him now.

He came in wearing full Sparrow. He (pretty rudely) instructed me to "block the room - your offer has been accepted." Of course this raised the first red flag. He then told me that I would get Sparrow, but only if I did things his way. Because he was so rude, I had pretty much decided not to trade with him anyway at this point, but I decided to play along. "Ok," I said "do you mind telling me exactly what your way is?"

His way, not surprisingly, was that he would trade in the last window, no community leader present, in fact NOBODY was allowed in the room.

Needless to say, I told him "sorry, but that's not going to happen" - to which he said "No Sparrow for you!" and left. He also told me at some point in the conversation that a CL had scammed him out of Inferno earlier in the day, and that's why he insisted on no CL's (even being present).

Later, I ran into a friend - a really nice guy from the Dis - who told me that the same guy had been in his Sparrow offer room earlier, saying exactly the same things. So, friend, the moral of this story is - watch out for this guy. Very bad egg.

I had several people like that when I had my Stitch offer room. Some didn't even have Stitch, one even hid behind my Wanted poster and said she was wearing it.

Nicely done! I hope many newer and younger players read this and can learn from it. All to often people are so excited with the thought of getting the item they wanted so badly, they fail to see all the warning signs you mentioned!
