Yet another Resort Mug question ...

We are staying at AKL for the first half of our trip, then switching to an off-site timeshare for the remainder. We are planning on getting the mugs, but my question is, after we leave AKL, can we still use the mugs? We will be parking at various resorts (valet) and going to the parks from there and we thought the mugs would come in handy for that ever so important morning cup of coffee.

Oh - the reason we are parking at the resorts is twofold:
1) we have PS for early dinner there and it would just be easier to keep the car in one place for the day and
2) its a little less expensive ($6 for valet parking at the resort vs $10 for parking at the parks)

ooooh .. paulh .. I thought that "WAS" the tip. Good thing I posted this - I paid 1st year of college tuition with valet tips - no way I'd not tip those guys.
I still want to park at the resorts though - it would just be so much easier to get home after dinner.

Nothing to do with the "mug" but park parking is free to all resort guests so you do not have to pay for parking at all.

Okay, sorry I didn't read too carefully - you would be staying off property but valeting at resorts.

If that is the case then I don't think you should be using your refillable mug at these resorts.

also at a some of the resorts where you have valat parking you give them the mug to refill BW,Y+BC to name a few it tends to be the mods and value resorts that have the filling islands WL has a small place where you can fill your own mug and CSR they fill the mug for you

Parking fee is $8 at the parks. That allows parking for the day at all the parks.

I would rather park at the park. Valet parking may be $6 but add tip, then add if you go to another resort, that's getting steep.

Parking at the park is only $8 and if you park hop, you can park without paying again.

As for using your mug when you're not staying there... well... I wouldn't. You're not entitled to it because you're not staying there. JMO.

If you are not a resort guest but just parking there for a meal it is not for the whole day, you get a special parking permit to stick on your dashboard that is onlyf for alimited time say (2hrs I think).

So you can't go and park in the am, hit the parks then go back to the resort.

The mugs are good for the length of your stay. Lets think about what you are saying. Since I live in Florida I stay at the AKL for a couple of nights and buy a mug. Should I be able to go back over there at anytime and refill, I think not.

As to parking at the resort all day. If you are not a guest at the resort at that time, you will be given a 3 hour pass for dining and/or shopping. The parking lots are not large enough to handle resort guests and those there to go to a park all day.

By the time you pay for valet and tip going and coming you would be better off to just park in the park lots.

If people who are not staying at the resorts continue to use valet to go to the parks the cost of valet parking will continue to rise.

So you can't go and park in the am, hit the parks then go back to the resort.

You can if you pay for valet. You also can get a receipt, if you change resorts, and although you'll need to tip again, you don't need to pay the valet again. Valet has their own parking area, so you don't have to worry about taking up someone elses spot. In fact you may be responsible for helping a parker keep their job. They don't have anywhere as many cars to park now that they charge for the valet parking. Plus with more people using it, the valets get more tips, since the tips went way down once they started charging. So at any rate, you'll make the valet happy!

think best thing to do is get some cold cans of soda put in a cool bag with some ice and put in boot of car and when you get back from the park you can have a nice cold drink and you will have no problem with the mug police out there
