Yet ANOTHER Photopass CD question.

Here was the deal with my Photopass photos.

I didn't get to pre-order before my trip, but I found out that you actually have 30 days after your trip to get the preorder price as well. Just hold on to that email they send you a week or so before you go. I was able to get the pre-order promotion a couple weeks after I'd returned from my trip.

When I pre-ordered, I was given an extra 30 days on the site so that I can order additional things such as prints, calendars, ornaments, etc.

So, I went to WDW September 21-27. Claimed my Photopass photos that night (9/27). Ordered the CD using the preorder price in early October, and instead of my pictures expiring TODAY, they are going to expire November 27. I ordered my CD couple weeks ago (with the prepaid code, and with that you get free standard shipping), and now I have my CD. YAY!

I had started out with 123 photos, now I am up to 335 with all my edits and such. :) Some of them I edit further in Photoshop or something. They're mine so I can do whatever I want with them. No Disney borders outside of the site, but I can sharpen, crop further, etc.

If you go to the special parties (MNSSHP, etc.) MAKE SURE you get a new SPECIAL and event specific Photopass card that night. They usually have some sort of discount code for prints taken that night and for that event. You can combine all of your PP numbers into one account on the Web site when you register/log in.

Someone had asked about the borders. In my experience, the borders were contextual. In pictures of Goofy, a Goofy signature would come up, but not a Minnie Mouse signature. In pictures of Mickey Mouse, a Mickey signature would come up, but not a Goofy, etc. Because I was there during MNSSHP, I got some Borders to that effect. There were Epcot borders for Epcot pix, and so on. Some of ours had "Just Married" borders. Some of the borders come up for ALL of them, but others did change with each photo.

As for character dining, we got a picture package with Belle at the beginning of our meal at Akershus that had a Photopass number on the back. I was able to add that to my account as well, and the Test Track picture too.

I love this because I essentially own all the pictures and I can do whatever I want with them. My avatar is one of the pictures! You get to do cool things and get opportunities and surprises that wouldn't normally happen. I highly advocate Photopass! :)

Hope that helps! :D

My family and I are going for our first trip and are trying to decide if the Photopass is worth the money or not. Quality of photos, variety, etc. My kids will be 6 and sone will turn 4 while there, plus my two sisters and thier families are going as well. This is already an expensive trip for us all on a tight budget. Are the pics worth it?

Any PhotoPass photographer will happily take a picture with your camera. Take advantage of this to get the free picture. They'll also take two or three with their camera. There's no expense in having these pictures taken. Log into the PhotoPass web site after your trip to see if they took any pictures that you can't live without. If there are just a few, you can order prints of them. If there are many, you can order the CD.

Be sure to check your camera after you get it back. I didn't realize until hours later that the photopass photographer had touched the lens of my camera after he took the pic for us. So a whole bunch of the pics I took are foggy & virtually worthless. I kicked myself for not realizing it earlier.

If there is bunch of you going then you may not need the Photopass. I assume that one of you will have a good camera and get some shots? If you want a picture of the group you can certaintly get that done and just get copies of the pictures that you want! I ordered a nice photo mug (on promotion) for my wife for mother's day and she absolutely loved it!

You can always get the photo pass, pose of the pictures, and then decline (or purchase only the ones you want).

We went with all 6 of us and wanted all of us in the poses. However I foolishly left the time elapse and only got 1/2 of my pictures.

I think you have a STRICT 30 days after your trip to purchase the pictures.
