Hi,

We are thinking of going to MVMCP on Tuesday, December 2nd. Is there anywhere to be able to see crowd levels for the MVMCP nights? I still can't decide if we're better off to go to MK that day instead of the party that evening. The more I read, the more confused that I get. If the park will be twice as crowded during the evening, due to the party, then that might make up my mind. Or is it just as crowded during the day?
We did MNSSHP a couple of years ago and it was pretty crowded. Not sure that it's worth it to pay for the party if we'll be unable to view the parade without sitting and waiting for an hour, etc..

Any thoughts?

Thank you!

Nobody can offer you exactly what WILL happen, crowd-wise,
but during the school-week and work-week in early Dec., the crowds should not be overwhelming at MVMCP.

Likewise, the crowds during the week at MK in early Dec. should not be too bad.

Just decide whichever (day or party or both) suits your desires better and… have FUN!

All that said, I jump back to my original statement about what WILL happen on YOUR date.
THIS poster had a worse-than-expected experience.

I would agree with Robo, usually, the days of MVMCP the park is not crowed due to shorter hours. The park closes at 7p. for non-party goers. ( The day still costs the same). As Robo previously stated, the party should be moderate in attendance due to a week day occurrence and early in the month. But, this is a guess at best. If absolutely uncertain, I'd go during the day. :thumbsup2

Crowds are supposed to be lighter on party days (I couldn't say for sure, we didn't do the park on our party day and it was the only one during our trip), so you might be able to get more done. Maybe not. Crowds are heavy (or heavier, I assume) from 4-7 because you can get in with a party ticket at 4, and a lot of people take advantage of that extra park time.

For our family, the party was absolutely worth it. Did we get our money's worth? Probably not. But worth is very subjective, and it depends what your expectations are going in. We entered at 4, did our 3 FPs plus another couple attractions, then went to eat dinner, hopped in line for Scrooge, saw the castle lighting, did another few attractions, got some cookies and hot cocoa, and went over to the Hub to watch the fireworks, and hung out til it was time for the 2nd parade, then left. Many people probably would (and did) get more stuff in, but we were on day 7 at that point and so tired. That said, we enjoyed it very much and are planning to do it again.

If you do decide to go, a couple pieces of advice:
1) Eat a big, late lunch and don't waste time eating in the park, even QS--not sure why I thought that would be a good idea, although it did give us a chance to check out the dance party at Cosmic Ray's. However it meant we didn't get in line for Scrooge til around 7, so we wasted a big chunk of party time doing that, we were in line for just under an hour. It was one of the major things we wanted to accomplish during the party though, so I would've still done it, just scheduled eating differently!
2) Decide what's most important. Character lines can take a while, and if you want a good spot for parade/fireworks you're gonna have to give up a chunk of time and get there early. It was totally worth it for us; we actually enjoyed the downtime after running all week, but maybe not so much for other people. Rides lines are shorter, but not necessarily nonexistent. There are still some that have waits (mostly just the headliners, but there were others that were busier than I thought they'd be). You'll have to prioritize whether you want to meet characters, do rides, see the shows, do the dance parties, etc. You just can't do it all (as is the case with Disney World in general).

Hope this helps! Either way you go, MK is still beautiful this time of year! Have fun! :)
