I know this question has prob been asked 1000x, but here goes. Is there a diff in the 2006 Quest model from the newer ones? What is the weight limit on the 2006 Quest? I know the 2007/8 are 55, is 2006 the same?

Thanks. They have the 2006 on albeebaby for $119...so much cheaper than anywhere else. But I need to know the diff if it's worth spending more for the new model.

I was wondering this too. what are the differences between 06, 07, and 08 besides colors offered? I really want one for our upcoming trip but DH doesn't want me to spend $200.00 on a new one at BRU.

I called Maclaren about the 08 Quest a few weeks back and was told the 08 has the leg extenders where any of the models made before did not. This is extremely helpful if you are planning to use it with an infant.

I know that if you go to Maclaren's website and look specifically at the Quest there is a tab for features and several things are marked "new".

* Added Features
* New! Carry Strap
* New! Easy-to-use central foot brake
* New! Buckles and hubcaps
* Extendable leg rest
* Raincover

Here are the standard features:

# Maclaren Recycling Programme†
# 5 point harness for added security
# Lightweight
# Removable washable seat
# Compact umbrella fold
# Water resistant hood
# High-performance aluminum frame
# Handy mesh shopping basket
# Carry strap for easy portability
# 5 second one-hand fold
# Ergonomically optimized, foam insulated
handles
# Lockable, front swivel wheels

Hope this helps.

I have a 2005 quest and as I understand it there is no difference between the 05, 06, and 07s...I see that they are advertizing the leg extenders as a new feature, but my 2005 has them????

Save the money and get the older model - you wont miss anything!!

I'm more concerned w/ the weight limit. ;) DD is already 37lbs.

I'm only concerned b/c in the store yesterday, they had the 2007 model of a combi which was 45lbs,and the 2008 model which was increased to 55lbs. So it can change from year to year. Just want to make sure before I buy it online & can't return it easily.

I wonder if depends on the "model" of the Quest for some of these features. I was looking at an 07 at BRU and it definitely did not have the leg extenders. If this is something that is important to you just make sure you ask specifically about this before purchasing. This was do or die for my purchasing as we wanted to use it for an infant.

What is the weight limit on your 05? If it's the same as the 08 I can safely assume nothing's changed.

I have the '06 Model from Albeebaby and I believe the weight limit is still 55lbs. It also does have a leg extender. I'm not sure if it's the same thing since I haven't seen the newer models, but it does have bars of each side of the seat the pull out to extend the length of the seat. It also reclines in 3 or 4 different positions which I really like. I'll try to find my manual and see if the weight limit is listed in there.

The 2005 has a 55 pound weight limit! The 2006 does as well!!

The one thing that is different from the 2008 is the carry strap...mine (and those older) have a carry HANDLE - it works, but its not as easy as a strap would be...

We're still debating taking the zippy or the maclaren to disney in September...if we decide to take the quest, I might look into an after market strap for it...definitely a nice feature in the volo and triumph, but not worth the $$$ difference between an older model and a new one for me!!

Thanks so much for all of your help!! I think I'm going to buy it. Everyone seems to love it. I just bought (yesterday) the combi that goes to 55lbs even though it was a bit narrow. Think I'll return that one & go for this one.

I JUST got the Quest from Albeebaby a few days ago. Its the 2006 model and I paid $109.00 for it! It has the 55 lb weight limit and its perfect for my three year old AND my five year old! The only thing it does not have is the carry strap (which my Triumph does). It did come with a rain cover also. Does anyone know if you can add a carry strap to the Quest?

The pink one? I wonder why the pink one is cheaper? LOL Do you think the blue is too girly for a boy? I have a 3 y/o DD now & am pregnant but we don't know the sex yet. I'd hate to put a boy in a girl stroller. :rotfl:

The seat is roomy enough for them? The stroller I bought she just fits in....and it is for 55lbs. I just don't feel like going back to the store to try them out again. LOL

The "official" answer straight from Maclaren:

The Maclaren Quest Buggy 2006/2007/2008 model are all tested to 55lbs. The difference between the 2006 model and 2007 model is the 2007 Quest has a waterproof hood and different fabric colourways. The Maclaren 2008 model has a new carry strap, and easy to use central foot brake and new hub caps and buckles and different fabric colourways.

Kind regards

I forwrded the blue one to my husband and asked, "is this to girly for CJ?" I got a big fat Yes! Dang and I thought I could get away cheaper.
