OK, I know I probably asked a similar question before, but now we are down to the wire and need some packing help (plus I can't find my old question when I do a search, LOL). I have a full size car rented from Alamo for 197. for 11 days. I will try for the Impala or Intrepid. We have 4 large suitcases, a backpack, two duffels, a camera bag, and a stroller. We are two adults and 2 children, one of which is in a carseat. Will most of this luggage fit in the trunk? The stroller is a teeny bit bigger than an umbrella, so we may be able to slide that right in front of the carseat in the back seat. The backpack can stay with DD11. Am I better off splitting one of the bigger suitcases into two smaller? The problem is not so much the clothes (although we are taking enough to not have to do laundry), but once I throw the cooler bag (collapsed), stroller cover, stroller shade, swim diapers, etc into the luggage, and then the clothes, DD2's LARGE bag is completely filled. I have two Misty mates, 2 Brita sports bottles, and a lot of other stuff that is helping to fill the space.

You should be fine with an Impala or Intrepid. Most of the other full size cars are pretty good with trunk space also.

frannn, you are going the same time we are and are asking all of the same question I have. I have been watching all of your posts around the boards.....do you feel me lurking around to get all of my questions answered?? ;)

been reading up on those as well! Sometimes I think I ask questions that I know can not be answered, like "Is the hurricane season going to stay this bad", and "exactly how crowded will it be this Sept". Did you get a good idea of what will fit in the full size car? I'm still having trouble with this.

Are you going to arrive on the 10th like us? Where are you staying?

My family is going to kill me......now that I am getting the confirmations together I think they are going to feel we have too much planned!

We are flying in on the 9th and will not arrive until around midnight. We are checking into an airport hotel and getting up the next morning and driving to Kennedy Space Center to spend that day. Then, we drive back to Orlando and check into the All Star Movie Resort for 2 nights. Going to Disney On Ice Friday night and moving over to the Coronado Springs Resort for the rest of the stay on Sunday. DH had "hotel points" so the first night off-site is free. The All Star Resort nights are "free" with Kelloggs Kash special. Yep, they are going to kill me with all this movin' around!!

I, too, was concerned about how much space there would be in that size car. One time we rented a mini-van and the kids had to put luggage on their laps to get to the hotel 'cause there was no room for them behind the back seats. This will be interesting to see if we AND luggage sit comfortably in the rental car. :teeth:

I changed my ressie at National today for a full size from an intermediate, just for the extra trunk space I'll be hoping to get!
My ressie rate went up a whopping $8.50 for a 9 day rental! I couldn't believe it, and never even checked on the full size when I originally made my ressie.

I'm going next week, too. I'll be at the CPGV for a lovely week of (hopefully) a little relaxation. I'm hoping to see SeaWorld with my grandson too. I still have 2 extra passes for the Nemo show of Disney on Ice on the 10th. I'm going to just ask around when I get there to see if anybody wants them I guess. I hate for them to go to waste.

Have a safe trip!

I also ordered Disney On Ice tickets and got extras. I was going to ask around, too, when we got there. Maybe we will see you. How nice that you are going with your grandson! Mine is too young right now but hopefully will make the next trip!! :D

I was hoping to get DH to try POP, but he wanted to stick with the AS. That's ok, we love AS Movies! I'm going to request the Dalmations section, since we stayed there last year, and DD11 wants that section. Mtblujeans- my DH thinks I overplan. I tried to explain to him that this adds to the fun for me, and will help us to have a better trip. Alas, he is a non-DIS'er, and doesn't know a Dove bar from a Mickey bar. Although, he has been searching out hidden Mickeys on our Disney videos lately, so there's hope for him yet!

mtblujeans, I planned this trip around the Disney on Ice show. I wanted to make a trip "just for me", and then I saw the tickets on sale for the Nemo show. I ordered 2 thinking I would get 2 tickets. Instead I got "2" of the deals, I guess. I also got quite a few free bowling passes as well, so I guess we'll try to make time for some bowling.

My grandson is so excited, and I've been keeping the Ice show a secret from him. I'll just surprise him when we get to the show!

I hope ya'll have fun, and maybe we'll see you there!

Very good! Perhaps there is hope for everyone!!

DH got sick the last time we were in Orlando and he was in the hospital and we were running back & forth between there and USO and my boys both said "NEVER AGAIN ~ DON'T RUN US AROUND SO MUCH". I am hoping they will enjoy all the running around this time and not get upset with me. The older DS is a NASA nut so hoping that first day will put him in a good mood for the rest of the stay!!
