Hey guy's we are going to disney in December we are trying to decide to fly or drive. We have a new baby princess who will be just over a year old when we go. Her b-day is december 18th My fear is flying with a little one her ears and beign fussy. We have driven before but never with a one year old. What do you all think fly or drive??? :)

We flew to WDW with our DD when she was 11 months old. Although we cant drive as we are in the UK I do not think we would have want to take her and her Bro in a car journey of up to 20 hours or so, I would not want to drive that either.

Are you prepared to lose the travelling time off your vacation by driving and be vey tired the first day?

i think as long as she is drinking a bottle on the way up and down she will be fine. i havent flown with a 1 year old but did with my two year old and he didnt have any ear problems i worried too much about trying to get him to drink or eat something cause he never complained about it. samething when he flew when he was five i dont think it bothers him.

We flew with our 18 month old in September. I bought him a seat, brought his car seat, and asked the FA for some juice for his bottle when we boarded.

He was asleep before we taxied onto the runway and woke up just as we circled MCO to land! :thumbsup2

He did the same thing for the flight home.

With a child that age I liked driving. With the amount of stuff I had to bring it was just so much more convienent to load everything in the car. We did the drive many times with DD from the age of 9 months, then every year until she was about 7. Then when DS came along we drove twice with him from the time he was 8 months. When we finally did fly last year the kids did great, but they were 8 and 3. DD had a lot of problems with her ears hurting even though she was drinking, chewing gummies/gum. Nothing helped her. DS was fine and slept most of the time. We will continue to fly but I loved driving and we had it down to a science! When the kids were young they would sleep most of the time while we drove. We would do the drive straight through leaving our house by 4am arriving at WDW by 9-10pm. We would get a good night sleep and be ready for touring the next day.
Good luck!

The car will allow you to bring more of the stuff a one year old needs . . . but after the drive from NJ, your screen name might be very appropriate.;)

Thanks:) we have done the drive before. The first time we drove straight through, that was not fun!!! I am not as young as I used to be:) latter trips we stop in Georgia and spend the night, so we get up have breakfast and arrive in Disney at about 1:00 pm and we are not too tired. I have just never driven that far with a little peanut! But I am afraid too of beign on a plan with a screaming peanut!!! and everyone throwing visiual daggers our way!!!!:scared1:

I thought of this too! More stuff we can bring with us!!:)

And it's not pretty. Our oldest dd was almost 4 months when we flew. She was great. Took the bottle and didn't have trouble with her ears. When our middle dd was a year old, flying down was fine. But coming home, she wouldn't drink, and she cried. She finally fell asleep, but every time we hit turbulance, she cried again. When our third dd was a year old ,we drove and she was fine in the car. Because there are 5 of us, we always drive. And our dd's are great in the car. And it is nice to be able to carry more stuff.

Have a great trip. :)

Thank you! On another note I cant believe I spelled Visual wrong!!! Duh! I am sure I have a lot of other misspelled words but that just jumped out at me!!
