Accuweather website is forecasting another major winter blast for xmas week for the midwest just in time for holiday travel.

We already have eleven plus inches on the ground from last storm!.

We are expecting family coming from Rapid City, New York state, Ohio, eastern Kentucky.

Luckily DD and my grandson drove from Rapid City this week when the weather was decent.

Good luck to all the midwest travelers next week. Im hoping January will be mild.

Our local weathermen have been saying that for a couple of days. We got 15" last storm! I don't want any more snow, especially during the holidays.

I'm kind of hoping for enough snow to make it pretty, but not so much that it bogs everything down. We haven't gotten anything yet this year...we were supposed to get like an inch (OMG, everybody to the store for the bread, eggs, and milk!!!!! ) today, but so far, nada.

I warned everyone on another post--we are traveling for a holiday and EVERY time we do, BAD weather. We are traveling on the 23rd so adjust your plans accordingly :lmao:

golfgal,

My son-in-law (career Airforce) and physically a big guy is driving to Rochester from Rapid City in a tiny Toyota with an 85 lb lab mix and a neurotic little terrier on the 23rd, LOL. He's hoping for decent weather. I can just see the labs tail swishing in his face from time to time, LOL. He's gonna have enuf to deal with with the dogs.

That's 571 miles door to door. Let's hope for the best weather-wise.

That's about the same distance as our trip (going to St. Louis area). We won't leave until after school that day so if he can get to 90 and 35 by about 3:00 he should be good :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I just brought up the AccuWeather site since we're flying out of Moline, IL on the 26th. Our weather forecast for that day is about 20-30% chance of snow, and if their map is accurate, we look to avoid most of the snow.

I hope!!!
