Yet another banking ?

I have a March use year. We are going in 4 weeks and I will have 78 points left at that time out of 135 points. I have until 8/31 to bank 100% of my points but we may be going again in February. The 78 points is more than 50% of my points. Do I need to bank 11 points by 8/31 or do I have until 11/30?

Previously I've just banked all the points and used them the next year but I'm not sure I can get DH to commit to another trip in February yet.

You can bank all 78 of your points between now and 8/31. After that date, you can bank up to a total of 67 points, including any points you banked by 8/31, (banking percentages are cumulative).

So if you bank 11 points now, then between 9/1 and 11/30, you could bank an additional 56 points, bringing your banked total to 67 points, or 50% of the points you own.

If your plans are unclear, you could bank all of the points prior to your 100% deadline and still go in February using borrowed points. Any points used in that manner would be '07 points, not the banked points.

Obviously, you'd have to be quite sure of your plans for a February trip, no matter where the points come from, because the trip would occur right at the end of your use year and you would not have many options if you had to cancel.

I would still need to use those 78 points in 07-08 and I don't think there is anyway to talk DH into another trip. I guess I could always try to rent them.

Or lengthen one of your trips by a day or two...or stay in a 1BR one time instead of a studio. You have lots of options, including renting which would probably pay most of your dues for the year.
