Alright, so I know you can bring it on....but can you bring it off? Specifically, can we bring it on to CC? We're on the dd and I wanted to know if we could bring fun beer off the ship. I would assume it can't be in glass bottles.

Also, can you buy beer in Nassau and bring it on the ship? Or does it just apply to liquor?

TIA

Don't know if you can carry beer off the ship at Castaway Cay, but I was able to bring it on from Nassau without any problem. (Though I only had two or three bottles. If you show up with four cases, that might be a problem...)

We used a small, softsided cooler and put beer, wine and vodka in it. They sell the DCL coolers when you get off the ship, and will fill them with ice for you. They also sell them in the gift shop on board. We already had a DVC cooler and they filled that for us.

Are you allowed to bring the soft-sided cooler off the boat to Castaway Cay, though? We just bought one and I thought that it'd be cool to load it up for the day with a 6-pack or so, so we could enjoy some adult beverages at the adult beach.

Also, could we "refill" our cooler by buying a 6-pack of beer in Nassau?

Thanks!

There's a bar at Serenity Bay and severs on the beach. There's also a bar across from Cookies and servers on the family beach.

really? you can buy the coolers in the gift shop? i only ever saw them at cc as we got off the boat. anyone remember how much they were?

I certainly don't remember being frisked on the way off the ship to the beach at CC. I am sure that I could have had a nip or too along with me. As for officially is it allowed? I don't know. Sorry.

I recall taking several "containers" of adult beverages off the ship at CC. The first trick is to have a well stocked room bar. I strongly suggest that you bring some mixers with you and save empty water bottles to transport. We mixed our bottles in our cabin and got ice from the bars on CC. It works out well.

Now, with that being said. Always make friends with at least one of the bartenders onboard - Signals at noon is a great time to meet one or more. They will take very good care of you, but take very good care of them. :thumbsup2

My DW and I love "Steve" from Trinadad onboartd the Wonder. We make it a point to find him on each cruise.

I'm sure Disney frowns on glass of any kind on the beaches. So plastic please.:rolleyes1

We just came off the Magic this past Saturday...we brought our own beer and water onboard at Port Canaveral and then purchased more at Key West...you can purchase beer/liquor at Nassau and bring onboard as we have done this in the past...

We brought the beer onboard at Pt. Canaveral in a soft sided cooler...you cannot place any liquids in your checked bags, which the absolute reverse of the airline policies...we packed our cooler with beer & water for CC and it was great...just remember that you have to empty out any ice before you go back on the ship...

Also, you cannot bring any open bottles off the ship when you disembark...

Thanks! That's exactly what I needed to know. I just bought a large, rolling soft-sided cooler at that Wal-store....I'd like to take a couple six packs onto the ship to enjoy throughout our 4-days, to save a little money on the beer (and get a little more diversity on the beer choices). I figure that I'd like to bring a 6-pack (in cans) off the boat onto Castaway Cay and then I can "refill" my cooler when we stop in Nassau.

Thanks, again.

Make sure you bring your beer cozies!!! It gets verry hot out on the deck and at CC. I try to remember mine and usually get a few people commenting saying they wish they had one.!!! I never use them at home, but somehow it puts me in a good mood on the ship!!:thumbsup2 (plus it irritates DH!!)

from what I have heard the prices for beer onboard are pretty resonable. I can understand bringing your brand of soda if you drink pepsi and they only have coke. or bringing a certain brand of rum, whiskey, etc. but unless there is is specific beer that they don't carry on the boat,I wouln't take all the trouble to bring my own. I might bring a few bottles of water with me but I have heard that the tap water is just as good. It just cuts down on all the stuff.

Yes, but if you buy a case of beer for say $15 and the beer onboard is 3.00 or $3.50 that's $15 compared to $75. I LOVE being able to grab a beer or two while I'm at the pool or getting ready for dinner, etc. My DH on the other hand doesn't really drink and may have just a couple, so to him it is a pain to drag along w/ us. I usually only bring a 12 pack now since when I brought the case, we were actually giving it away towards the end. We've drug it through the airport before, but this time will be renting a car and will just get it on the way to the port.

This is our "bar" from our September Cruise...

We stayed in Cat 3...Had a "Wonder"ful time...

Always BYOB...You'd be amazed how quickly you can rack up a bar bill that could rival the cost of your cruise.

DITTO!

My husband and I had a couple of drinks a day, and our bar tab was $196 for a 7 day cruise!!!!!!
We learned our lesson, and took our own on the next cruise. If you plan to BYOB, make sure it is easy enough that you will use it.

Even so...sometimes it's hard to turn down a waiter with a tray full of drinks-of-the-day when you are sitting by the pool! :)

Love the photo of the bar......Anybody have any good drinks ideas....We cruise this week and plan to pack a 12 pack, bottle of Vodka, and Parrot Bay. We hope to get the juices onboard. I am a sweet fruity drink person....Any help appreciated. :cloud9:
