Thanks in part to all of the wonderful people on this website, my family and I are going to be staying at the fabulous Polynesian for our next trip. :teeth: The next logical question is what building? My DS REALLY likes the monorail so I was possibly looking at Aotearoa. What is the general consensus regarding this building? I have noticed some people have had problems with noise coming from the monorail and the Luau. Are these serious concerns? We have no light sleepers in our midst so would this even be an issue?(we ALL sleep like the dead!) :faint: Also, if this a great building for monorail lovers, what floor? Any and all information is appreciated! :)

I actually like the TAhiti or the Rangui buildings best so you can just walk to the ticket and transportation center and take the epcot monorail... or the express monorail to MK. To me it is like the best kept secret about the poly :)

I stayed in the Aotearoa longhouse with my dd in July 2004. I think it is a great spot. We requested third floor so we could have a balcony and our view was across the lagoon to the GF. It was so beautiful. It is just a two minute walk to the GCH and volcano pool. You could hear the music from the luau but it just added to the ambience. We are going again in October and I will be requesting this longhouse again.....

I stayed in Aotearoa and I loved it. My son loved opening up the curtains in the morning and watching the monorail go by. It wasn't far from anything. We had the bottom floor. If you go out on the patio, they have a table to sit out on. I wish I could go back. I love the Polynesian.

We love Raratonga for monorail views. We ask for 3rd floor Raratonga facing the monorail. We had this view for 4 trips and loved it. The building is super close to the GCH and an easy walk to the volcano pool. You couldn't hear the monorail but it was so neat to sit on the balcony and watch it come in. Our new favorite building is Samoa for the volcano pool view but our second best is Raratonga.
