Friday August 23, 2013: Day 8, Part 7 - Dream Suite Tour Part 4​

Salon or Sitting Room:

YAY! They let you sit on the furniture!

Again, there are so many details to this room and I cant recall all of them but to name a few, there is a fully functioning telescope in a decorative box, a selection of hard cover fairy tale books, another phone, and a gilt framed mirror on the wall opposite the sofa that transformed into a second TV. There are other decorative items that are well themed for the suite scattered around the room.

But isn't that another story??? PS- REALLY great picture with the mirror, the stained glass window, Emily and all of the reflections.


The stained glass windows are really cool.

Are the hands of that smaller grandfather clock also set to midnight? I would totally use that to my advantage, like if I arrived late for my reservation at La Hacienda.

Happy Belated Birthday Em!! it is hard to see them grow. I wiped tears as my dd Elizabeth turned 21 this month. My second grandson was born. I've been looking back at photos of both of them (ok all three of them) growing up. Even seeing photos of Isaac (first grandson who is 16 months) show how fast they grow up.

Am loving the tour of CDS. Thank you for the photos and details. I would have forgot most of the details or to take pics. Can't wait to hear and see more.

I am astonished that I missed part 3 AND part 4 of your tour... I am not sure how that happened?

It is just amazing though - through and through - the details are just gorgeous. I would have thought the DS would have been bigger. But it's beautiful just the same.

Bummer that all of the windows are so full of stained glass that there isn't much of a view from them. It would be nice to have a balcony to sit on or something? LOL I guess that would be a little dangerous.

No worries D~! I'm embarrassed at how far behind I am for your PTR. It's definitely my intention to get caught up.

I had no idea what to expect with the DS but I would have imagined it was bigger only because the DL version is 2 bedrooms, a big living room and a huge outdoor terrace.

I have a few photos looking out the windows where the view is pretty clear so some parts of the windows offer a view. Can you imagine if there was a balcony to watch Wishes from?? Perhaps dodging stray sparks may not be that great but the view....

The details never cease. I love those stained glass windows! A functioning telescope? Wow. The things they think of. I always wondered where the suite was too, so thank you for that picture taken of the view from one of the windows. Everything in there is so gorgeous. Can't I just live there?

Thanks Dave! During the night, I'd be tempted to make a dress out of the drapes but I guess that's pretty absurd given the fact that there were no mice or birds around to help make that happen.

Loved the update on the Dream Suite. I was wondering if people that stay there are allowed to walk outside during the hours the park is closed? I have always wanted to be in the Magic Kingdom after hours to watch what happens then!

Wow!! That's an upgrade! I love to see people celebrating milestones like your friend's anniversary receiving that special treatment. That was something that I thought a lot about with the Admiral Suite. Why couldn't it have been a honeymooning couple or a couple celebrating a special anniversary that received that magical upgrade? Why us?

Unless a room with a set of bunk beds was a dose of pixie dust... we trade that for a room with 2 Queen beds.

I believe the guests are free to roam the park at night, they may need their VIP tour guide to accompany them....I know Jo and her mom panel pals were outside the DS in their robes so I know they don't lock you in.

My thoughts exactly! Just the photos would be enough, but your descriptions are so wonderful!

Ha ha! Yes, they allowed us to sit on the furniture and they didn't even lay out slip covers for us!

I didn't plan that reflective photo but it was pretty cool.

Not sure about that small clock's time but you know if they didn't have that darn SE in your way you would have been on time. We'll just blame the gravitational pull of earth for that little ADR delay. (I know the moon is responsible for that but let's just pretend I somehow drew a connection there.)

This tour is just beyond fascinating, seriously! What an amazing opportunity! And that's why I love Disney so much... the details they put into everything is UNREAL. Even the things that are very rarely seen to normal every day guests. It's made me appreciate Disney that much more. They really don't just put tiny effort into things... they go all out! Your TRs are always so entertaining because it's not just the usual Disney trip... there are ALL sorts of fun things happening to you! I really, really enjoy reading them.

Brenda, I've been a lurker on your trip reports for the past couple of years but I really had to say thank you. They are so helpful and full of great pictures that I've made several adrs based on your yummy meals. Your reports are so fun to read....keep them coming please!! Our next trip is this august where we'll be introducing our new twin daughters to disney. Our first trip with babies and twins to boot... We never took our older kids before they were 3.... Should be interesting to say the least! Thanks for all the time you put into sharing your trips with us!
