Can you get these in advance in order to make FP+ reservations? Has anyone done this? Was it worth it for a 5-day stay (i.e. did it take too much time out of doing other things instead?)?
How do you get to a 7:15am class from alive resort? What time do busses run?
We were at the Beach Club, and needed to get to the FRONT entrance of Epcot for our class-- the ONLY time that it was an issue.
We took a cab. The cost was minimial-- I'll guess $10 or $15??
You can get a cab from any resort.
Here's the info on YES classes: http://www.disneyyouth.com/our-prog...-enrollment/#categories-individual-enrollment
Two caveats:
1. Since you're ordering park tickets, you can't get a Magic Your Way package-- that means no dining plan. We really missed having the dining plan; that's the only reason we're not doing YES this time.
2. Tickets are non transferable and non refundable. So be sure you're going when you say, and make sure that your travel insurance covers the price of those park tickets in the event that something-- like illness in the family-- forces you to cancel.
But those issues aside, I would highly recommend the classes! They do save serious money on tickets and the classes themselves were great. I worked them so that we were all in classes at the same time, and in the same park. The whole immediate family can get the discounted tickets if ONE family member (plus an adult, depending on the age of the student) takes ONE class, so it can represent some serious savings.
That isn't true. We have 2 adults and 4 kids (1 is a baby who doesn't need a ticket). Older 2 kids are doing a class, 3rd child and 1 are not. We all got yes tickets. Same with my sil and inlaws. Sil has 2 kids participating, 1 who isn't. Booked 1 kid with my mil and fil and all 3 got yes tickets, then other 2 kids (1 participating, other not) with her and her husband and all yes tickets.
From the website:
Please provide the names and ages of all youth in your party below along with the names of the adult guests in your party for whom you will be purchasing tickets.
These tickets are only available for immediate family members and adult chaperones of participating youth. As a requirement, we are not allowed to have more adults purchasing tickets than youth. However, families with only one child may purchase tickets for up to two parents/adult chaperones. Only one parent/adult chaperone is allowed to attend Individual Enrollment classes with their student(s).
You must enter each person's name that you will be purchasing tickets for and you must purchase a ticket for each person listed.
My son, 17, will take a class. His 2 siblings are older, college age and will not be taking a class. I tried ordering tickets again and it will not let me past the first screen because I have too many adults (4) and only 1 student. I tried listing the three of them as students, but the message said anyone over 17 must be listed as an adult. I then listed my son, husband, myself and went to the third page thinking that maybe I add them there. Nope.
When I first tried ordering 2 weeks ago and it wouldn't let me, I called Student Guest Services. I was told I could only get tickets for my son, my husband and myself, but not for his siblings. I guess I will try calling again tomorrow.
I didn't see your kid's siblings were over 18. That makes a difference. I was assuming they were under 18 since you didn't specify they were all adults in the first post.Gumbo, I quoted her in response to her quote of a previous post of mine in the thread. I was explaining my situation. The rules state tickets are only available for immediate family members and adult chaperones of participating youth. His siblings are immediate family members so shouldn't they be able to get the tickets? They would take the college classes but these are only available for groups, not individuals, so that is not an option. I will call again tomorrow.
We have done the Y.E.S. program for the past several years. This year we were able to link our tickets to MDE and get FP+ reservations. In the past we were only able to pick them up at Guest Relations.
The Youth Education Series is a program where your child can take a class and go backstage. One of the perks is the ability to purchase tickets at a discount. Many of the classes are science based but some are art based. The classes are typically thee hours in length. Our family generally saves around $500 on park tickets by participating in the Y.E.S. program so its worth it for us.
We bought yes tickets for our trip next month. There was an email address given to contact if you need the number to book fp+. I emailed right after I bought the tickets and they gave me the ticket id the day before my 60 day window. I entered the tickets and had no trouble booking my fp+ that night at 9pm. (Pacific time)
They used to give you the option to have them mail the tix to you, but not anymore. But you can still make FP+ reservations
If you are an on-site guest, they will email you the ticket information that allows you to make the FP+ reservations, more than 60 days in advance
If you are an off-site guest, they will email you the ticket information that allows you to make the FP+ reservations, more than 30 days in advance
We are doing YES this July.
It is most definitely worth it...we are saving a ton of money on the kids tickets. The classes are great. Some of them let you into the parks before they open.
