Yes, I'm sorry, another HOJO thread

I did go feed my kids and got out of my frenzy somewhat. :goodvibes I know I don't want the $59 rooms, so that's good. I'll figure out whether I want the pool view or Disney view within a few days but am to a point where it would be fine either way. If I keep the Disney facing room, I'll definitely take DangerMouse's advice on requesting a room near the elevators and possibly see if I can get a 7th floor room. If not, I know we liked the pool view. I think I'll go read Eragon and tomorrow morning, I'll re-read all of your helpful posts!

Here's a link to my TR post #63. I took a video from the balcony of our room one morning. So you can see the view, although the matterhorn is nearly washed out in the early morning light.

Gail, I really enjoyed your trip report. I have a daughter about the same age, and had her read it and look at the pictures too--and now she is dreaming of a mother daughter trip just for "us" like you both took.

Thanks,
Lisa

Sorry to hijack, but I have to ask...

What does the tax usually turn out to be for each rate per night?

It's a 15% charge of the rate. We just got back last week and had a $59 room so our total per night was $67.85 ($8.85 in tax).:)

Well, I just called and upgraded my rooms from the $59 one to the $79 one with a Disney view. The person who helped me was very nice--at first she said the Entertainment rate was gone for my dates already (I just booked yesterday :scared: ) but she upgraded me anyway at the Entertainment rate. I put in a request for the 7th floor--hope that was a good idea. She did say there are skylights on the 7th floor and that some people find it hard to sleep in in the morning, but I'm wondering who would sleep in at Disneyland. :)

Wow, I made a decision! Can you believe it? ;) I decided to stay with the Disney facing room just to try something different, and my husband helped me decide (after showing him pictures of views, etc. and his head was about to explode). He liked the idea of comfy beds. Why did I obsess over the $55 difference between the deluxe and premium rooms so much, asked my husband, and I told him that that money would go toward a lot of pineapple spears, Dole Whips and Mickey Bars. Sheesh!

:cheer2: Yay! You'll enjoy it. Your Dh sounds a lot like mine. He'd rather pay full rack rate and stay at Hojo DL view than anywhere else. The beds are comfy and the micro, fridge and coffeemaker come in handy. The customer service is very good at Hojo. The room is large too. I don't know why I sounded so whiny in my other post; I just wanted you to know that the room is a little different than what it shows in my pictures from last year. I still like Hojo Bld 1 (never tried any other rooms) I just liked it better when it had a real desk w/ internet access. ;)

Wow, the days I was looking at in May went up from 59 to 89 a night. The Disney facing rooms went from 79 to 114 :(

Might have to change my consideration to the Fairfield instead.

Where were you looking? The Ent rate doesn't change, but it doesn't show up on their main website, either. You have to look at the Innsider boards: http://www.hojoanaheim.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14 and the rooms set aside at this rate do sell out, so it's important to book early.

Also, as always, keep in mind that they release new dates often, depending on how close to capacity their bookings are. You can always book and cancel 48 hours before, if your dates don't show up.

You didn't sound whiny at all! I prefer when people tell the good, the bad AND the ugly because I want all the info I can get before deciding. When I called to request a 7th floor room, the nice lady said that they pretty much filled all the ent rate rooms for those dates. Maybe they'll release more rooms later, I don't know how that works. Thanks for your posts!

The Ent rate is not available and I did not enter any codes. Are there any codes available that can save me money?

Disboard discount is 15%
AP discount is 20%

Sorry, I don't know the codes, but you can call IN HOUSE and ask for those rates.

Entering "LNLR" as a promotion code will get you a NQQ2 room for $84.15 for 2 of the nights and $92.65 for the last night. LNLR is a code for MiceChat forum board since HOJOs is a sponsor. You can also get a 15% discount if you call by staying 3 or more nights. I think that might be the DIS board discount too. Just call in-house ressies at 714-618-6014.

I may be late to the game but here's my 2 cents. We stayed in building 2 in January and building 1 this last weekend. Building 2 was nice and quiet and we enjoyed the courtyard view and had a balcony. We had a cluster of 3 trees directly in front of our room in building 1...so, we could barely see much of either park and of course, there are no fireworks at the moment.
That being said, we've had great view rooms in the past and when the fireworks are on, it's well worth the extra $10.
