I was just wondering when YES classes have been offered in January in previous years. I did a search, but only found limited information. I'd appreciate any help!

Thanks!

We attended the homeschool event last Jan. It was on 1/25. I believe there were other classes that week maybe even the week before, but not sure. Then there were classes in Feb......up to about 2/13. Btw anyone can attend the homeschool days....don't necessarily have to homeschool.

In the same boat as well.....susbscribing:)

I know this past January the first YES classes were offered around 1/14/13. I believe they start the week AFTER the marathon weekend. I signed up my DGS for a class and they went down on Saturday of marathon weekend and the first classes started on Monday or Tuesday.

Thank you!!! This is what I was hoping for. We are going down that weekend.

when do they release the home school days date for january? are the ticket prices better for that then they are for individual enrollment? do you just attend the 1 event?

I think they release the homeschooling day info for January sometime in October. The ticket prices are much better. You can just attend the one included event,or you can add on individual enrollment classes. You could vegan idea of what it might run you by pretending to signup for the October class. Who knows how the program might change for 2014, but it might be close.

Thanks! What happens if you buy the tickets and then you have to cancel your trip? What is the refund policy? Thanks

I believe the policy is no changes, no refunds. Might be worth trip insurance. I have heard of at least a couple situations where they did refund part of the cost when it was cancelled for some pretty extreme circumstances, but you certainly can't count on it.

I think the Jan. 2013 Home School Event info was released at the beginning of Oct. The Home School event ticket prices are cheaper than the individual enrollment prices. Hopefully they will not change the program/prices for Jan. 2014.

We did attend the Jan. Home School Event last Jan. 2013. I didn't register till about 3 weeks before because of the fact the tickets are non-refundable. The auditorium where the program took place (DHS) was not even close to being full so I'm pretty sure it was not "sold out". Although that won't help if you have a last minute illness or travel/weather related issue (which is a real possibility in Jan.). ;) As others have posted on here they have issued refunds in certain situations. However, purchasing travel insurance probably makes sense.....which is what I might do if we plan on attending in Jan. 2014.

Wow good to know that it is cheaper. Was considering buying APs that trip, but may be we will wait and get them later to milk more trips out of them!

Which trip insurance would cover these tickets?
