Yes, another ME question

I'm just wondering, do they have certain buses for different resorts (i.e. do they have one specifically for MK resorts?), or are they all lumped in together? Also, do they stop at certain resorts first?

Thanks!!

There are typcially 3 resorts per bus. Sometimes you might get a bus that doesn't have anybody at the resort it is scheduled to go. The resorts are assigned by proximity to one another. Your not going to get on a bus that goes to AKL and POLY.

Thanks! We'll be taking it to the Contemporary and was hoping we wouldn't be detouring over to all the Epcot resorts or anything.

The CR could be on the Polynesian, GF route or it could even have WL in there as well. Usually there are no more than 3, 4 tops, resorts per route.

How often does the bus leave from MCO? Do we have to wait until the bus is filled? We're arriving at 10:30 and are really hoping to be at the hotel checked in by 12:00. We have never done DME before. Thanks!!

ME buses usually are full or close to it. If Disney is collecting your luggage, you'll go straight to the ME check-in desk. That line could be 10 minutes long or 45 minutes long, depending on # of folks arriving at that time. Then you go to the bus line based upon the resort you're staying at. Again, you might wait a short or long time. Bottom line - it's possible to check in to your resort 1 1/2 hrs after flight arrival.

We've done ME twice and I think both time we were to the resort in under an hour and a half.

Last time, we were staying at AKL and we stopped at Pop first. On the way back, they picked up at AKL first and then pop -- it was one FULL bus!!

The busses usually leave every 20-30 minutes, (I think...) so you should be checked in by 12.

Well, that's not entirely accurate.

They AIM to assign buses by gerographic zone, but that's not always the most efficient way. Since there are DME reservations, they know about how many people are going to which resorts at which times.

If, at any given time, there happened to be a whole bunch of people going to AKL and Poly and there was hardly anyone else going to the AK or MK zones, then they would probably put them together.

The maximum number of resorts per bus is 4. But when the bus has to cross zones (that is, has guests from resorts in 2 or more zones rather than all in the same zone), then the maximum is 3 resorts per bus. They do this to allow for the increased travel time, so that the people on the final drop-off didn't have to wait through as many prior drop-offs.

So when everything is about even and fairly busy, they stick to their 4 zones. But they throw that out the window if the reservations data suggest there will be more efficient route(s) at any given time. It's a dynamic situation.

Ok..I stand corrected...when jupiter aligns with mars they might indeed put resorts together that aren't near each other geographically. The 8 times I've used DME in the last 3 yrs I have never had this happen.
