I called DCL directly on two different occasions, asking whether or not my FH and I could get a table for just the two of us for dinner. One CM said no, the other said I could request it, but nothing's guaranteed...so I figured I'd ask the people who REALLY know. has anyone gotten a table for just 2? We're kind of weird about eating in front of people we don't know...it's not that we don't want to make friends, but I just don't think FH would enjoy himeself as much at dinner.. we've been together 3 1/2 years and he STILL has issues about eating in front of my family...lol so if anyone has any tips on this please share.

I don't recall seeing any tables for 2 in the main diningrooms. According to the Passporter tables in the main diningrooms begin at 4 so if the ship is anywhere near full it is likely you'll have dining companions. However, you could always check with them on that first afternoon to see if there is a 4 top that isn't being used. Especially if you're flexible on seating.

Other than that there are 2 place tables in the Buffet area which is occasionally open for evening meals. Or room service.

We were in the same boat. I have issues about sharing a dining table and eating with strangers. We requested a table for 2, but were put with another couple. While it was uncomfortable for me, I got through it. We were on a 3 night cruise, did Palo once, so it was only 2 dinners.
Also, our tablemates didnt bring a watch on the cruise and this was before there were clocks in the staterooms...they were late both times and we ended up having to wait while they caught up to where we were(already ordered, gotten appetizers, etc...). It really put a damper on our dining experience especially since I wanted to be alone in the first place.
I think that is my only complaint about DCL, no tables for 2. My cruise wasnt ruined, not by any means, but dinner would have been a much more enjoyable experience for me had we been alone.
Good luck!

seeing tables for 2 in the main dining rooms. No problem at all for 2 at Palo. You could eat there on multiple nights. Another alternative is to eat at Topsiders at dinner - Topsiders is a modified buffet at dinner with table service.
