Yellow Mickey Ponchos

Something to keep in mind. The cheap Dollar Store ponchos cling to your body and the head part doesn't stay on your head when the wind is blowing.

The WDW ponchos are better in a heavy rain and the head part fits perfectly. If it rips they will replace it for you.

When I get home I dry out the poncho and put it in a ziploc bag for the next time.

I just saw some clear ponchos for 87 cents at Wal-Mart today in the camping section.

Did I understand that the mickey ponchos are $6 each? I'm sure they are not high quality but the dollar tree has 2 or 3 in a package for a dollar.

The Disney ponchos are sturdy and hold up for quite a while. They are worth the money.

I agree, the Disney ponchos are sturdy. I have tan ponchos from Animal Kingdom with Mickey in a safari hat on them that we bought a few years ago that are still intact. In fact when we wear them in the parks, we get alot of people that want to know what shops sell them. Dissapointment soon sets in when we tell them that they are "vintage". Actually, the first year we went to WDW the ponchos were clear with the castle printed on the back. We hated the clear ponchos because you could see through them. I'm glad to still have my tan one.

I like our yellow disney ponchos. We bought them years ago,I too agree that they were made sturdy. I can't imagine trying to wear the $1.00 store ones,they would have to feel like being wrapped in saran wrap on a hot and humid day. Also,if everyone wants to wear one once and throw them away won't disney need to recycle these,somehow? Disney now sells the clear ponchos, I will miss seeing the crowds of people wearing the yellow ones.Im still packing ours for our trip coming up soon. Try E-bay for the yellow ones,they seem to sell everything disney. You could try under disney souvenirs,good-luck.

I have to disagree about the sturdiness of the yellow ponchos. Maybe we got a bad batch but the last time we purchased the yelow ones they were awful. This was probably 6 years ago of course. But they tore the minute we piut them on. (We also did not know they would replace them) so we were soaked. But DH and I were young and newly married so it was an adventure to laugh about. I have the .87 cents ones and actual heavy ponchos now for me and dh and dd5. If it looks like heavy all daytype rain in the morning I bring the good ones if not I just drop some of the cheapo ones in the bag.
