It seems real now...I just made the final payment on our 1/25/03 cruise. I'm dancing and singing around my office.:bounce:

Just had to share the news with people that can understand how excited I am. My co-workers think I'm nuts.:p

Your coworkers probably have never been bitten by the Disney Wonder or Magic!
You go girl!
Rae

Thanks Rae:D

I just saw your page about Kayla. I am so very sorry that you lost such a beautiful, dear child. I am a staunch believer in organ donation and it must be a comfort to know that your Kayla has helped so many.

God Bless You.

We will be on the Magic the week before you, I'm making my final payment next week. :D Once you make "final payment" it seems like it really is gonna happen, don't it?

Thanks 4cruisin - I was blessed to have 7 years with her and although some may not think that was too many, it was a lifetime for us.
Glad to know you are also an organ donor supporter - we don't know until the time comes whether we will ever need a donation or have the ability to make a donation, but at least we can all think about it before the time comes so our decision is made.
I understand the GREAT Barry White is in need of a kidney donation. We seldom hear about the average child, woman or man needing one but at least his need puts the cause out in front.

Again, thanks for your thoughts - and just remember we all have challenges in our lives, it's how we deal with them that really matters.

Happy sailing and great Disney days ahead!
Rae

Chatty,

We debated going the week you are and doing the western but none of us have been to St. Thomas/St. Maarten and we also liked the idea of the extra sea day, so 1/25/03 won.

I have been so excited all along, but today it seems real. I'm still humming and smiling eventhough we don't leave for almost 3 months!!

I too just read about your daughter. I am so sorry for your loss I can't imagine the pain of loosing my child. My mother and brother both had polysistic kidney disease and both had kidney transplants. My family is so blessed by the selfless families who in the midst of there pain could think of others. Many prayers from our family have gone out to the families who helped my family live.

We make our final payment mid-Nov. We are on your cruise. We are sooo excited. It's our 2nd one to the Eastern. Such beautiful places to see. What fun we're gonna have!!! Maybe we'll meet up!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one. When DH and I went to AAA to pay off the final balance for our trip, I was so excited I could barely sit still in the chair while the TA updated our file. I looked over at DH and said, "Aren't you excited?!" He said yes, but I'm sure he was thinking "Yes, I'm very excited to be handing over a large sum of money to this woman I don't know." :p

Then every time I get an envelope from AAA, I get all excited even though I know it's just an updated invoice listing my most recent payments or other info. changes. The most recent envelope had a brochure from DCL on gift baskets and I got extra excited about the little "bonus" in that envelope! :p

So, I'm glad there ARE people out there who can relate to my insanity! :Pinkbounc

aaronamy -
We just don't know which loved one will ever be the one in need. I guess informed decisions and a lot of faith helps, at least that's what did it for us. Always thrilled to know speak with a recipient or family member. What we as organ donors do isn't "selfless" - we akin it to giving away a piece of clothing that is in great shape but is no longer needed. We aren't "heroes" either - save that for those who are in emergency services or the military - they deserve it. We just thought about organ donation and made the decision, then when the time came, the answer was there. God bless them and their donor families.

Insanely Mickey - It's always so exciting to pay that final amount! I can't wait til our documents arrive for 12/12, but it's a little far off yet (40 days!). I don't feel the need to try to contain myself. Before my Dad passed on and Mom moved here (I'm an only child), all our vacations (military leaves - actually) were trips to upstate NY to visit them. Now I am NOT complaining because they were/are worth the trips and upstate New York - sheesh, that's my heaven on earth! But now that she's here, our oldest son is on his own, and we have our dearest son Michael (7) still home - hey, let's get out and see/do/ party!

4cruisin - That extra day at sea - yes! yes! Yes! Although I always like to stay on the ship even when we are in port - that Vista Spa should just have my name on a door!

Enjoy calm seas, blue skies and great times with new friends!

Good Morning All!

Rae - I pm'd you.

Pigelet - welcome to the 1/25/03 bunch. There are several of us here on the same cruise. We were starting to think no one else was with us. Janone, PiperG, MelissaE1, Debbiebones, Aaronamy,
Coachminnie are all on the cruise too.

Insanelymickey - I laughed about your husband's thoughts at the travel agent's office. For whatever reason, the dh's just don't get as excited as we do.

I, too, did the happy dance the day I paid the balance--and my coworkers and secretary threatened to have me committed.

Now I'm Only 30 days 23 hours 42 minutes 49 seconds until our 12:00PM departure for Disneyworld on December 2, 2002. We are cruising on Wonder for four nights on 12/8, and I can't wait. I have a five week vacation, two of which will be spent at WDW/DCL, one in Atlantic City (really on business, but at least I'm not in the office) and two at home (one week pre-trip, one week post-trip for recovery!)

I told the travel agent to charge the balance due on our credit card for our January 18th cruise. I can't believe it's almost our turn :bounce: .

Organ donation is a difficult topic to bring up, but my mother told me she wants to be one (when the time comes), but doesn't want it on her drivers license. She thinks that they'll take her before her time.

BEth - I want to be in YOUR suitcase for these next weeks! Wow, girl! You really aren't going to let any moss grow under your feet!

Hopkins - my parents felt the same way about organ donation, and I explained their fears the best I could. Regardless of what is on the license, nothing will occur unless a family member gives permission. That's why it's imperative for people who make the decision to let others know. At 69, only my Dad's corneas were healthy enough to be used and that was just for research. My Mom had been on the fence about organ donation but when Dad passed and the donation proceeded, she said she felt like a part of him might someday help someone else and he would have always wanted that. Now she says that they can take whatever they want when she's gone! She'd better not plan to check out too soon though, she's booked two more Disney cruises with me and DS Michael!

Take care!!
Rae

Rae-
I agree you shouldn't feel the need to contain yourself. A Disney Cruise is a very exciting thing. I'm having fun learning that for myself as I'm planning this first one ;) I've read a lot of your posts and you seem like such a WONDERful person with such a positive outlook on life. My wish for you is that you get to take as many DCL cruises as you wish and that each one is better than the last. :D

4cruisin-
I'm so glad you got a laugh from DH's thoughts. :p It is quite funny how the DHs just don't seem to "get it", huh?

:Pinkbounc = Me

 = DH

:p Ha! Ha!

Ok, you guys are crazy ( Im right there with you) is there a reason you pay your final payment before it is due? Does it help with upgrades or do you get your documents earlier? Or are you just afraid you'll spend it? Ive got mine sitting in the bank and I could pay now if it would benifit me in any way, other wise I'll wait. I know I'm going to be doing the HAPPY DANCE:tongue: all over the place and really driving my husband crazy as soon as I get my documents! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc I'm going 01/25/03 too!!!!!!!:Pinkbounc
