Day 3 (Part 1) - Sunday, November 16, 2003

CAST OF CHARACTERS:
Yecats - Me, myself and I.
Me is Single, 33 (however, other two personalities - myself is about 10 years old and an advid SM freak and the I personality may be about 60 years especially after getting off of the ToT).

Also on board is my new Canon ZR65 Digital Videocamera nicknamed: Handycam, as it was always in my hand.

PLAN FOR THE DAY:
1. Magic Kingdom
2. Epcot (Part 2)
3. Dinner at Le Cellier (Part 2)

Ringy, Ding, ding. Oh I'm up again. Time is now 7:30 and Mickey has called me personally to tell me to get my but up. But Mickey its my vacation why do I need to get up so early. Hung up on Mickey and decided brief cat nap is needed. Few minutes later its now 7:50 so I guess the game plan of actually seeing the Kingdom open is out the door. Anywho up and dressed I decided to try the South Depot bus stop again (very sunny day which eventually heated up to about 84 degrees). Do I hear any takers yet. Why am I doing this to myself. Yes once again I am standing with others waiting for the Magic Kingdom bus only this time instead of being 40 minutes it was only 27 but every other bus came and went with some coming twice. I decided the bag of chips bought last night would be a good starter for breakfast so I ate them while on the way to the Magic Kingdom.

As I got on the bus which was rather full, I decided to sit next to a young man (about 12 years of age). His father and brother were sitting in the seats in front of him. He was from Kentucky. This was his second trip to the world and his younger brothers first. We were having a conversation about MK when he stated that he last came to WDW at the age of 6 and the only memory he had was of the ride Buzz's Space Ranger Spin which he didn't like. Would you believe this conversation, a young kid who doesn't like Buzz's ride. First I have ever heard of this. So then we discussed a little bit more about Disney and before you knew it we were all at the Magic Kingdom.

MAGIC KINGDOM:
Got off of the bus and wished my new friends a fond farewell and all the rides they could stand on Space Mountain. Truthfully, I have never been to MK before 10:30 and may have only been to the MK twice by 10:30. This would be a new experience as I was here by 8:50 on an EE day. Park was certainly not crowded but the crowds are funny. As I walked in under the train station I noticed many groups stopped and looking at their maps of MK and many families standing around beginning to fight with each other over what to do first.

TIP:
Decide what and where you want to go before coming into any theme park, especially when your in a larger/extended family group.

There were many groups standing around having the exact same conversation of what to do and where to go first. I knew where I wanted to go so I headed to Fantasyland, so these are the kiddy rides. Don't get me wrong. I've been to WDW enough and certainly know my way around but have for the most part bypassed the kiddy rides as it just wasn't cool when I was young. However, I'm a big girl now and don't particularly care what anyone thinks. The only rides that I would stop at was usually IASW and the former 20,000 LUTS. However, one goal on this trip was to ride the other kiddy rides just to experience them. Now, I have ridden a carousel before and do not need this experience nor the Dumbo experience either. As I get sick on the TeaCups, I can forgo that as well. So I decided to stop by Winnie the Pooh and obtain a FP which I did then wait the 10 minutes for Peter Pan.

Peter Pan, what can I say. I really enjoyed the ride and especially flying over London. I can see why the little ones line up for it as if I was their age, I would be begging my parents to ride it over and over again.

So off of Peter Pan with a few queer looks from parents who only ride because of their children. As my FP time had not arrived I was trying to decide where to go next when a CM standing in front of Mickey's Philharmagic was trying to get the crowd into see the show so I went in. There were very few families in there at this time of the morning. The doors opened, the few of us sit down and the show begins. Wow, I really love this movie, it is truly classic Disney as it's touted. I predict that it will introduce Donald to the next generation. Its a gem and fun to see, you do walk out of the show with a grin on your face. Needless to say, I would see this a few more times before leaving.

Well onto my FP at Winnie the Pooh. I thought the ride was cute (certainly reminded me of a particular Seuss ride at IOA) but probably won't ride again for awile. Decided last minute to ride Snow White's Scary Adventure. Now I have been on this ride but decided to ride it once on this trip. The wait was essentially a walkon and I wasn't the only solo riding. There was an older lady in the seat behind me who admitted that her husband refused to ride but she wanted to ride it at least once. What can I say Girl Power. Off the ride and certainly time to head towards Tomorrowland.

Okay the "myself" personality has taken over and the 10 year old has emerged. Its time to ride Space Mountain repeatidly. So how many times in the offseason can I possibly ride Space Mountain, how about 4 times between 10:10 and 11:20 with only one FP. I was totally happy to stand in the Standby line so that I could ride on the left side as last year I fast passed everytime and had to ride on the right. Okay after the 4th time, I was hungry (and my neck was a little irritated) so walked to the Main Street bakery for some canteloupe, a blueberry loaf and milk ($10).

Sat in the chairs outside of the Plaza Rest. and enjoyed a late morning breakfast while crowd watching. The crowds were now really heading in. Before I knew it I had a different crowd crowding around me. There was a small crane type bird, two ducks and a squirrel. All of a sudden I realized that I was Snow White and my little animal friends were here to be fed so I gave them what was left of my blueberry loaf and said goodbye as I was headed back to Tomorrowland.

Obtained another FP for SM and onto ride the TTA and filmed it especially for my mom with all sorts of little comments as reminders from past trips. Nostalgia, what can I say. Then onto Carousel of Progress which is another nostalgia trip and becoming more so as this ride is usually closed when I attend. Singing the song always leaves me with that sappy warm fuzzy feeling. Then onto the TTA again. Got off and decided to go to Timekeeper. This is another movie which I don't understand why they don't open as I think it is a good show. I really enjoyed it and wanted to freeze frame some of it into my memory as I wasn't allowed to tape it. Came out and FP time had arrived so back in to ride SM. Got to love it. Decided it was time to leave the area (would be back to ride Buzz on another day) and just happened to want to ride Haunted Mansion so over the park to that area. Then decided to ride Splash Mountain but there was a 40 minute wait so no waiting for me today. Walked over to PoC which was a walk on.

Now I have already been on this ride the night before but decided to ride it again as the pirates life for me song just sort of sticks in my brain. So I am now placed in the last seat with another solo lady from California around my age. We got to talking and apparently were a little too loud for the family seated in front. The husband turned around and asked us if we could be quiet so that his kids could hear the ride (so we did as asked). When we both got off the ride we compared it briefly to PoC in California. Well I was ready to leave but had it with walking the park so waited for the train. Sat in the first car and took the train to Mickey's Toontown Fair and waited in my seat. Sitting at the train station I had noticed there was a mom who looked to be about 30ish with her husband and her little boy. She had to stop on the walkway from Space Mountain as her face was green and before you could look away, she vomited. Little did I know that this was the theme for the day. I felt so bad for her. She had to sit there past the time after the train took off. Arrived at the Main Train Station and time to head out for the day but one last purchase of a Coke before leaving.

At this point, my legs and back were burning. So time to head back to PORS. Bus arrived in a timely manner and was back at PORS by 2:30. I asked the bus driver if he was making the rounds to the other depots and I got lucky and was dropped off at the South Depot. I was in my room by 2:40, laid down and woke up at 5:10. Guess I was worn out.

yecats, this trip is report is great! Keep it up. It's providing me encouragement to book a solo trip of my own early next year, as my family won't commit to a vacation until Oct. 2004 at the earliest. And they may not even do Disney, but some other vacation spot. Who are these people? Am I really related to them? :)

I can't wait to hear about Le Cellier. I'm hoping to try that during my possible trip too.

Wonderful reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

Yes, isn't it great to reach the age when you really don't care what people think. I missed out on Fantasyland on my last trip to WDW, so this next trip that's where I'm heading first. Everyone just raves about Mickey's Philharmagic so that is my first attraction following breakfast at the Crystal Palace.

The nice thing about a solo trip I see is that you do what you want when you want. You wanna nap? Go back to the resort and take one! Yipee!

I want to take a solo trip!!!!

Sooner or later I will do it! The only problem is that I have converted DH into a DisneyManiac, so he is sooooooo jealous whenever I bring it up!

;) I do think 2004 is the year for ME! ;)

Thanks for sharing your reports, yecats. I've been enjoying them all!
